참부모경 - 493. 몸 마음 통일과 자아주관

참부모님께서는 인간의 타락으로 인해 갈라진 마음과 몸의 싸움으로부터 인류의 갈등과 분쟁이 비롯되었다고 보시고 우주주관 바라기 전에 자아주관 완성하라.‘고 강조하셨다. 그래서 종교는 몸과 마음을 통일한 터전 위에 모든 인간이 참사랑을 통한 희생과 봉사의 삶을 실천하게 함으로써 하나님 아래 하나의 세계 실현을 최고의 목표로 둬야 한다.
 
17 여러분은 몸과 마음을 통일해야 됩니다. 이것은 역사적인 외침입니다. 복음 중의 복음입니다. 이 일이 이루어지지 않으면 사랑도 다 허사입니다. 인간의 정의를 논할 수 있는 논리적 기원의 터전이 없는 것입니다. 그 기원의 터전이 없는 논법이라는 것은 현실과 관계가 없는 것입니다. 그래서 내 마음과 몸에서 완전히 통일되었다 할 수 있게 되어야 합니다. 하나님은 몸 마음을 참사랑을 통해서 하나되게 하라고 합니다. 하나님 자신의 몸 마음이 하나되어 있는 것은 서로 위하는 사랑을 가졌기 때문입니다. 몸은 마음을 위하고 마음은 몸을 위해 자기 이상을 투입하겠다고 하기 때문에 영존할 수 있는 것입니다. 투입하고 더 투입할 수 있기 때문에 이론적인 영생의 논리가 나오는 것입니다.
 
18 우주주관 바라기 전에 자아주관 완성해야 됩니다. 기독교인이나 종교를 믿는 사람들은 그것을 알아야 됩니다. 누구나 잘나기를 바라지만, 잘났다는 것이 무엇입니까? 잘날 수 있는 첩경은 나부터 바로잡는 것입니다. 몸과 마음이 매일같이 싸우는 데도 휴전을 하지 못하고 있습니다. 할아버지로부터 자기, 자기 아들딸, 손자, 천천만대 내려가더라도 싸움은 계속될 것입니다. 수많은 성인들이 왔다 갔지만 여기에는 무관심했습니다. 그러나 아버님이 이 문제를 해결한 것입니다. 그러니까 참사랑으로 하나되어 공명의 경지에 들어가면 도를 안 통해도 다 알 수 있습니다. 내가 그동안 핍박을 받고 몰리는 신세가 되었지만 그 와중에서 살아남은 것은 나 자신이 갈 길을 알았기 때문입니다. 하나님의 수직 아래에 들어가면 갈 길을 아는 것입니다. 방수(方手)를 알기 때문에 제아무리 야단하더라도 내 갈 길을 가는 것입니다. 아버님이 망할 것이라고 했지만 망하지 않았습니다.
 
19 여러분은 개인의 몸과 마음이 갈라져 있습니다. 그러나 아벨적 자리에 서 있는 마음은 몸을 위해 지금까지 희생해 나왔습니다. 투입하고 잊어버리고 또 투입하고 잊어버리는 일을 일생 동안 해 나오는 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 마음을 중심삼고 몸이 하나되어야 합니다. 몸 마음이 하나된 거기에 하늘이 같이하는 것입니다. 그런 남자와 그런 여자는 가인 아벨과 마찬가지 입장에 서 있기 때문에 그 둘이 하나될 때 하나님이 임재할 수 있는 것입니다. 사랑의 인연을 중심삼고 하나된 가인 아벨 자리를 찾아 세우지 않고는 발전할 수 없습니다. 그것을 개인시대로부터 가정·종족·민족·국가시대까지 정리해서 승리적 기반을 성립시키지 않고는 하나님의 해방, 아담 해와의 해방, 자녀의 해방권은 이루어지지 않습니다.
 
20 종교가 하는 일은 두 가지입니다. 첫째는 마음에 강한 힘을 자극시키는 것입니다. 종교를 믿으면 정신이 쏠릴 만큼 자극을 받습니다. 몸의 모든 것을 잊어버릴 수 있게끔 마음속에 강한 충격을 주어서 비로소 하나님이 있다는 것을 알고, ‘아, 주인이 하나님이로구나. 이 몸과 상관되어 있는 악마가 아니고 하나님이다.’라는 것을 알게끔 마음속에 강한 힘을 보급해야 됩니다. 여러분은 지금 마음과 몸의 힘이 비슷하니까 싸움을 하는 것입니다. 마음에 한 3배쯤, 5배쯤의 힘만 불어넣으면 마음이 몸을 이길 수 있습니다. 둘째는 몸을 때려잡는 힘을 강화하는 것입니다. 이것과 마음에 강한 힘을 보급하는 것이 종교의 2대 역사(役事)입니다. 마음을 강하게 만들려면 3년 동안만 몸을 끌고 들어가서 마음대로 하면 됩니다. 마음과 몸의 힘이 비슷비슷하니 몸이 굴복할 수 있도록 그저 고생을 시키는 것입니다. 종교에서는 금식을 해라. ‘온유겸손해야.’라고 합니다. 몸은 온유겸손하겠다고 하지 않습니다. 그래서 ‘온유겸손해라! 희생해라!’라고 하는 것은 두 가지 방면 가운데 한 방면을 강조하기 위해서입니다. 종교에서는 고생하라고 가르치는 것입니다.
 
21 주체와 대상인 마음과 몸이 하나되어야 합니다. 내가 도를 닦으면서 제일 고생한 것이 그것입니다. 몸 마음이 쉽게 하나 안 됩니다. 제일 문제가 잠자는 것과 먹는 것입니다. 배고프면 정신이 헷갈립니다. 잠이 오면 눈이 말을 안 듣습니다. 그다음은 남자로서 여자에 대한 문제입니다. 이것이 3대 원수입니다. 이 문제를 전부 청산지어 깨끗하게 하지 않으면 하늘나라에 못 갑니다. 그런 문제에 부딪히기 때문에 표어가 ‘우주주관 바라기 전에 자아주관 완성하라.’는 것입니다. 내가 아무리 천하를 주름잡고 천하를 통일한다 하더라도 나 자체의 통일을 이루지 못한다면 전부 일시에 무너지는 것입니다.
 
22 세계가 필요로 하는 종교는 어떠한 종교냐? 평화를 제시하는 종교입니다. 그러한 종교가 되는 것은 자기를 중요시하고, 또 자기를 중심한 소유관념이나 소유욕을 가지고는 불가능합니다. 그것은 역사시대에 자기 조국과 자기 민족을 중심한 주체적 관념에 지배받던 형태를 벗어나지 못합니다. 이것을 벗어나게 하려고 자기를 희생시키라고 하는 것입니다. 그러나 자기 이익을 추구하는 세계의 역사를 따라가게 될 때에는 전쟁역사 그 자체에서 벗어나지 못합니다. 그것을 아는 하늘은 ‘자기를 희생시켜라! 자기를 부정해라!’라고 하는 것입니다. 또한 자기가 주체의 자리에 서더라도 자기 주체의 이익을 추구하는 것이 아니라 상대의 이익을 추구할 수 있는 길을 택하라고 합니다. 그래서 희생을 강조하고, 봉사를 강조하고, 자기 스스로를 부정하는 길을 찾아 나가는 것이 종교의 길입니다.

真の父母経 - 493. 体と心の統一と自己主管

真の父母様は、人間の堕落によって分かれた心と体の闘いから、人類の葛藤と紛争が始 まったと考えられ、「宇宙主管を願う前に自己主管を完成せよ」と強く主張された。そのため、宗教は、体と心を統一した基盤の上で、すべての人間が真の愛を 通した犠牲と奉仕の生活を実践することにより、神様のもとの一つの世界を実現することを、最高の目標に置かなければならないのである。

17    皆さんは、体と心を統一しなければなりません。これは歴史的な叫びです。福音の中の福音です。このことが実現されなければ、愛もすべて無駄になるのです。 人間の定義を論じることができる、論理的起源の基盤がないというのです。その起源の基盤がない論法というものは、現実と関係ありません。ですから、「私」 の心と体において、「完全に統一された」と言えるようにならなければなりません。神様は、「真の愛を通して心と体を一つにしなさい」と言われます。
神様御自身の体と心が一つになっているのは、互いにために生きる愛をもっているからです。体は心のために生き、心は体のために自分以上のものを投入しようとするので、永存できるのです。投入し、さらに投入できるので、理論的な永生の論理が出てくるのです。

18    宇宙主管を願う前に、自己主管を完成しなければなりません。キリスト教徒や宗教を信じる人々は、それを知らなければなりません。誰もが優れた人になること を願いますが優れているとは、どういうことでしょうか。優れた人になる近道は、まず自分から正すことです。体と心が毎日のように争っていて、休戦できずに います。(このままでは)祖父から自分、自分の息子、娘、孫、千年、万年たってもこの争いは続くでしょう。数多くの聖人たちが来ては去りましたが、解決で きませんでした。
しかし、お父様がこの問題を解決したのです。ですから、真の愛によって一つになり、共鳴の境地に至れば、修道を通さなくても、すべて分かるのです。私はこれまで、迫害を受け、追われる身の上になりましたが、その渦中で生き残ったのは、私自身が行く道を知っていたからです。
神様の垂直下に入れば、行く道が分かるのです。方向を知っているので、いくら大騒ぎしても、私の行くべき道を行くのです。お父様は、「滅びるだろう」と言われましたが、滅びませんでした。

19    皆さん個人の体と心が分離しています。しかし、アベル的な立場に立っている心は、体のために今まで犠牲になってきました。投入して忘れ、また投入して忘れ ることを、一生の間続けるのです。ですから、心を中心として、体が一つにならなければなりません。体と心が一つになったところに天が共にあるのです。その ような男性とそのような女性は、カイン・アベルと同じ立場に立っているので、その二人が一つになるとき、神様が臨在できるのです。
愛の関係を中心として、一つになったカイン・アベルの立場を探して立てなければ、発展することはできません。個人時代から家庭、氏族、民族、国家時代までそれを整理して、勝利的基盤を成立させなければ、神様の解放、アダム・エバの解放、子女の解放圏は成り立たないのです。

20    宗教がすることは二つです。第一は、心に強い力で刺激を与えることです。宗教を信じれば、精神が引き込まれるほどの刺激を受けます。体のあらゆることを忘 れてしまえるように、心に強い衝撃を与えることによって、神様がいることを初めて知って、「ああ、主人は神様なのだなあ。この体と関わりがある悪魔ではな く、神様なのだなあ」ということが分かるように、心に強い力を補給しなければなりません。皆さんは今、心と体の力が同等なので争うのです。心に三倍から五 倍くらいの力さえ吹き込めば、心が体に勝つことができます。
第二は、体を打つ力を強化することです。これと、心に強い力を補給することが、宗教の二大役事(働き)です。心を強くしようとすれば、三年間だけ、体を引っ張っていき、心の思うとおりにすればよいのです。
心と体の力が同等なので、体が屈服できるようにひたすら苦労させるのです。宗教では「断食をしなさい。温柔、謙遜でありなさい」と言います。体は 「温柔、謙遜になろう」とはしません。ですから、「温柔、謙遜でありなさい！犠牲になりなさい！」と言うのは、二つのうち一方を強調するためです。(それ で)宗教では、苦労しなさいと教えるのです。

21    主体と対象である心と体が、一つにならなければなりません。私が修養しながら、最も苦労したことがそれです。体と心は、簡単に一つにはなりません。一番の 問題は、眠ることと食べることです。おなかがすけば、精神が乱れます。眠気に襲われれば、目が言うことを聞きません。その次には、男性として、女性に対す る問題です。これが三大怨讐です。
この問題をすべて清算し、きれいにしなければ、天の国に行けません。そのような問題にぶつかるので、標語が「宇宙主管を願う前に、自己主管を完成せ よ」だというのです。私がいくら天下を牛耳り、天下を統一すると言っても、私自体の統一を果たせなければ、すべてが一時に崩れるのです。

22    世界が必要とする宗教とは、いかなる宗教でしょうか。平和を提示する宗教です。そのような宗教になるには、自分を重要視し、また、自分を中心とした所有観 念や所有欲をもっていては不可能です。それは、歴史時代に、自分の祖国と自分の民族を中心とする主体的観念に支配されていた形態を抜け出すことができませ ん。これを抜け出させるために「自分を犠牲にしなさい」と言うのです。
しかし、自己の利益を追求する世界の歴史に付いていけば、戦争歴史それ自体から抜け出せません。それを知る天は、「自分を犠牲にしなさい！自分を否 定しなさい！」と言うのです。また、「自分が主体の立場に立っても、主体である自分の利益を追求するのではなく、相対の利益を追求する道を選びなさい」と 言います。そうして、犠牲を強調し、奉仕を強調し、自分自らを否定する道を尋ねていくのが宗教の道です。

Chambumo Gyeong - 493. Dominion over oneself

True Parents teach that the conflicts and disputes among human beings arise from the struggle between their mind and body, which became divided due to the Human Fall. Thus, True Father lived by the personal motto, "Before you seek to have dominion over the universe, you must first gain dominion over yourself' The body, which seeks its own comfort and pleasure, must be subordinate to the mind, which is connected to God and His ideal. Accordingly, religion teaches that mind-body unity, where the focus of the mind is the higher purpose, is the necessary foundation for a life of true love, which comes through service to others and self-sacrifice. The body's unity with the mind is the necessarf first step on the path to actualizing the final goal of one world under God.


17 "You must achieve mind-body unity." People have shouted this throughout history, regarding it as the gospel of gospels. If you cannot reach this state, even your love will be in vain. Without it, you have no basis to say anything about what it means to be a human being. Whatever your line of argument, if it is not based on that fundamental foundation within yourself, it has nothing to do with reality. For this reason, you have to be able to state that you have attained complete mind-body unity. But can any of you say that with confidence?

God teaches us that the way to bring our mind and body into unity is through true love. God abides in total oneness of mind and body because, abiding in love, His mind and body live for the sake of each other. God exists perpetually because His mind and body invest in something beyond themselves—the body for the sake of the mind, and the mind for the sake of the body. This is the logical basis of eternal life. It originates in the reality of beings investing in one another and then investing more. (210-239, 1990/12/23)


18 "Before you seek to have dominion over the universe, you must first gain dominion over yourself." This is what Christians and other people of faith need to understand. Everyone wants to be admired as great, but what does it mean to be great? The shortcut to having others regard you as great is first to straighten yourself out. Your mind and body are fighting every day, unable to make a truce. This is a condition that has continued and will continue from generation to generation—from your grandparents to your parents, from your parents to you, then from you to your sons and daughters, then to your grandchildren, and on and on.

Countless saints and sages have come and gone without being able to solve this problem. I, however, have solved it. I can enter the realm where my mind and body are in resonance, united in true love. Once I am there, even without engaging in the path of discipline I can understand everything. There were circumstances where I was driven out and persecuted, but I survived amid those whirlpools. How? It is because I understood the path I had to follow. When I enter that state of resonance, I stand directly under Gods perpendicular line. Hence, I understand what measures to take. Because I understand this, I can keep going on my destined path regardless of any outcry against me. This is why I have not come to ruin despite people saying I would. (248-277, 1993/10/03)


19 You are divided individuals. Your mind and body are divided. Your mind, standing in the position of Abel, has been sacrificing for your body. It has been working your whole life, investing and forgetting, investing again and forgetting. Now it is time for your body in the position of Cain to unite with your mind. When the two become one, in that state God will be with you.

On that victorious foundation, you next stand in a Cain-Abel relationship as husband and wife. Again, when the two of you become one, God will descend and dwell with you. Until you restore the Cain-Abel relationship and establish their oneness based on love, you cannot advance to the next level. We have to establish the victorious foundation of Cain-Abel unity from the individual level to the levels of family, tribe, people and nation. Only then can we bring about the liberation of God, as well as the liberation of Adam and Eve and their children. (207-318, 1990/11/11)


20 Religion does two things: First, it stimulates your mind and strengthens its power. If you have religious faith, your mind will be stimulated to such an extent that its purpose becomes your sole focus. When faith impacts your mind so strongly that you forget everything about your body, then for the first time you will realize that God truly exists. Then you must again apply that strong power to every part of your mind, so that you make an absolute determination, "My lord is God alone. My body will submit only to God, not to the Devil." When you feel the conflict between your mind and body, it is because the power of your mind and the power of your body are almost equal. But if you strengthen your faith to infuse your mind with three to five times more power than it has now, your mind can be victorious over your body.

The second thing religion does is to give you power to strike your body and keep your body under control. Striking the body and supplying strong power to the mind are the two works of religion. As well as making your mind stronger, you need to make your body obey your mind. Do this for three years. Since the power of your mind and the power of your body are about the same, you need to make your body suffer until it just surrenders. That is why religion tells you, "Do a fast. Be meek and humble." By saying things like "be meek and humble" and "sacrifice," religion brings the body to submit to the mind. For the same reason, religion teaches you to accept suffering. 21 Mind and body must become one, as subject partner and object partner. This is what caused me to suffer the most while I was putting myself through spiritual discipline. The mind and body do not become one easily. The biggest challenges are sleeping and eating. If I felt hungry, my mind got confused. If I felt sleepy, my eyes would not listen to me. Next, as a man, I had to overcome my physical desire for women.

These are the three great enemies of all human beings. So unless you overcome them, you cannot go to God's kingdom. Because we are all confronted with those kinds of difficulties, my personal motto has been, "Before you seek to have dominion over the universe, you must first have dominion over yourself." Even if I ^vere able to unite and command the universe, if I cannot attain unity within myself, I would end up losing everything. (232-123, 1992/07/03)


22 What kind of religion does the world need? It is one that presents the way to peace. It cannot be a religion that stands by while we regard ourselves as important, or that endorses a concept of self-centered ownership, or teaches that we can act based on selfish desires. If that were the case, we would never be able to escape the circumstances where people are dominated by their own subjective concepts of what is right for them, their people, and their native land. We have to overcome this. Therefore religion teaches us to sacrifice ourselves. As long as the world continues its history of people pursuing their own benefit, it can never get away from war.

Heaven knows this, and tells us, "Sacrifice yourself! Deny yourself!" In addition, heaven tells us that when we stand in the position of a subject partner, we must not pursue our own benefit as a subject partner. Instead we must choose the path that will benefit our object partner. We must take the path of a religion that emphasizes the ways of sacrifice, service to others, and self-denial.
