Bible Reading - Proverbs 16:12~22

16:12 Kings detest wrongdoing(악행), for a throne is established through righteousness.

왕좌는 의로움으로 굳게 세워지기 때문에 왕들은 악행을 싫어한다. 

16:13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips; 왕들은 정직한 입술에 즐거움을 느낀다.

they value(소중히 여기다) a man who speaks the truth.

그들은 진실을 말하는 사람을 소중히 여긴다.

16:14 A king's wrath is a messenger of death, 왕의 진노는 죽음의 사신이나

but a wise man will appease(풀어주다,유화하다) it. 지혜로운 사람은 그것을 달래줄 것이다. 

16:15 When a king's face brightens, it means life; 왕의 얼굴이 밝아지면, 그것은 생명을 의미한다.

 his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.그의 호의는 봄에 비구름 같다.

16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!

금보다 지혜를 얻는 것이 은보다 명철을 선택하는 것이 얼마나 더 나은가!

16:17 The highway of the upright avoids evil; 정직한 자의 대로는 악을 피하는 것이며

he who guards his way guards his life. 그의 길을 지키는 자는 그의 생명을 지킨다.

16:18 Pride goes before destruction, 교만이 파괴 앞에 가고

a haughty(거만한) spirit before a fall. 타락하기 전에 거만한 정신이 간다.

16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.

교만한자들과 약탈물을 나는 것보다 마음이 겸손하고 억압받는 사람들 가운데 있는 것이 낫습니다.

16:20 Whoever gives heed(주의를 기울이다) to instruction prospers,

훈계에 주의를 기울이는 자는 형통하고 

and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. 여호와를 신뢰하는 자는 복이 있다.

16:21 The wise in heart are called discerning, 마음이 지혜로운 자는 분별력이 있는 자라 불리우고

and pleasant words promote(촉진,증진하다) instruction. 기분 좋은 말은 교훈을 증진한다.

16:22 Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, 

명철은 그것을 가진 자들에게 생명의 샘이지만 

but folly brings punishment to fools. 어리석음은 어리석은 자들에게 처벌을 가져온다.
