Quadrilateral dialogue is a strategic forum where America, Australia, India and Japan joins.
The quad is beginning to grab some hegemon again.
Why? This is because all four members have seen their relationship with China deteriorate such as Chinese incursions to Japan and Chinese restrictions on all manner of exports in Australia.
How to juggle this? In order to push back China, defense ties are strengthening fast among 4 countries. Malabar exercises are a case in point: logistical support, encrypted communications, and the exchange of secret map.
But some critics that the quad does not convince everyone; it is too exclusive a club.
Nevertheless, it embodies the grammar of modern diplomacy not only for military purpose.
It’s capable of broadening its agenda from disaster relief to cyber-security to ensuring supply chains for critical minerals.
All things considered, the Quad, once adrift, is now shaping an increasingly confident course.
