4월 30일 파키스탄 해군이 첫번째 항고르급 잠수함을 중국 하이난성 싼야에서 취역시켰습니다. 8척 중 4척은 중국, 4척은 파키스탄에서 건조 예정인데, 중국 건조분의 마지막 4번함이 작년 12월 진수됐네요.

파키스탄 해군이 중국 싼야에서 열린 행사에서 첫 번째 Hangor급 잠수함 PNS/M Hangor를 취역시켰다.

행사는 오늘(4월 30일) 열렸으며, 아시프 알리 자르다리 대통령이 주빈으로 참석했다. 또한 해군참모총장 Naveed Ashraf 제독과 파키스탄 해군 및 중국 인민해방군 해군(PLA Navy) 고위 관계자들도 참석했다.

행사 연설에서 자르다리 대통령은 PNS/M Hangor의 취역을 역사적 이정표라고 평가하며, 강력한 해군 유지에 대한 파키스탄의 의지를 강조했다.

Naveed Ashraf 제독은 세계 해양 안보가 직면한 도전이 커지고 있다고 언급하며, 주요 해상 병목지점(choke point)의 혼란이 국제 무역과 에너지 흐름을 계속 위협하고 있다고 말했다.

신형 Hangor급 잠수함은 첨단 센서, 현대식 무기체계, 공기불요추진(AIP) 기술을 탑재하고 있어 장기간 수중 작전이 가능하다. 해군참모총장에 따르면 이러한 능력은 아라비아해와 더 넓은 인도양 지역의 핵심 해상교통로 안전 보장과 침략 억제에 중요한 역할을 하게 된다.

파키스탄은 중국과 Hangor급 잠수함 8척 도입 계약을 체결했으며, 이는 파키스탄 해군 수중전 능력 현대화의 핵심 프로그램으로 평가된다.

계약에 따라 잠수함 4척은 중국에서 건조되며, 나머지 4척은 포괄적인 기술 이전 계약 아래 카라치 조선·공학공사(KS&EW)에서 국내 건조될 예정이다.

한편 지난해 12월에는 네 번째 Hangor급 잠수함이 우한 소재 우창조선공업그룹 솽류 기지에서 진수되었다.

The Pakistan Navy has commissioned its first Hangor-class submarine, PNS/M Hangor, during a ceremony held in Sanya, China.

The ceremony took place today (April 30). President Asif Ali Zardari attended the event as the chief guest, alongside Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and senior officials from both the Pakistan Navy and the PLA Navy.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Zardari described the induction of PNS/M Hangor as a historic milestone, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a strong navy.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted the growing challenges facing global maritime security, noting that disruptions at key choke points continue to threaten international trade and energy flows.

The new Hangor-class submarines are equipped with advanced sensors, modern weapons systems and air-independent propulsion technology, enabling extended underwater endurance. According to the naval chief, these capabilities will play a critical role in deterring aggression and ensuring the security of vital sea lines of communication across the Arabian Sea and the broader Indian Ocean region.

Pakistan has formalized an agreement with China for the acquisition of eight Hangor-class submarines, a cornerstone program in the modernization of the Pakistan Navy’s undersea warfare capabilities.

Under the contract, four of the submarines are being constructed in China, while the remaining four will be built domestically at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW) under a comprehensive transfer-of-technology arrangement.

To remind, the fourth Hangor-class submarine was launched at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Company, Shuangliu Base at Wuhan, in December last year.
