<p>안녕하세요</p><p> </p><p>복습 중 잘 안넘어가지는 것이 있어 질문올립니다!</p><p> </p><p>학습지 페이지 3쪽 첫문장 중간부터 a coda consonant in the final syllable in all four verbs for rhotic varieties, and in all but ‘consider’ for non-rhotic Englishes</p><p>라고 써있습니다.</p><p> </p><p>이때 rhotic varities는 -er, e에 꼬랑지 달린.. 그게 가능한 것으로 알고 있습니다. 즉 r자음이 있는걸로 이해하고 있는데, </p><p>그게 맞다면 consider은 final syllable이 der이니까 rhotic varieties 에 속한다고 봐야하는거 아닌가요..? </p><p> </p><p>나머지 세 동사들인 astonish, imagine, promise가 non-rhotic이 아닌가요…?</p><p> </p><p>답변 부탁드립니다..!</p>

첫댓글일단 consider라는 단어 자체가 rhotic variety냐 non-rhotic variety냐를 결정하는 게 아니고 발화자가 rhotic English를 쓰면 consider는 rhotic 발음으로 [-dər]가 되고, non-rhotic English를 쓰면 non-rhotic 발음으로 [-də]가 되는 거예요..!
