16:23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote(조장, 촉진하다) instruction.

지혜로운 사람의 마음은 그의 입을 인도하고, 그의 입술은 교훈을 널리 전한다.

16:24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb(벌집), sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

기분 좋은 말은 벌집과 같아 마음에 달콤하고 뼈에 양약이 됩니다.

16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나 그것(그 길)은 그 끝에 사망으로 인도합니다.

16:26 The laborer's appetite works for him; his hunger drives him on.

노동자의 식욕은 그를 위해 일하고 그의 굶주림은 그를 몰고간다.

16:27 A scoundrel(악당) plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire.

악당은 악한 일을 꾸미고 그의 말은 맹렬한 불과 같다.

16:28 A perverse(성질이 삐뚤어진) man stirs up dissension(불화), and a gossip separates close friends.

사악한 사람은 다툼을 일으키고, 수군거리는 사람은 친한 친구를 갈라놓는다.

16:29 A violent man entices(꾀다, 유도,유인하다) his neighbor and leads him down a path that is not good.

난폭한 사람은 이웃을 유혹하여 좋지 않은 길로 인도한다.

16:30 He who winks with his eye is plotting perversity(심술궂음)

눈짓하는 자는 악한 일을 꾸미는 자이다. 

he who purses(입술을 오므리다) his lips is bent on evil.

입술을 다물고 있는 자는 악을 행하려는 것이다.

16:31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor(화려함, 영광);백발은 영광의 면류관이다. 

it is attained(이루다, 달성하다) by a righteous life.그것은 올바른 삶을 살면 얻을 수 있다.

16:32 Better a patient man than a warrior,

a man who controls his temper(성질,기질) than one who takes a city.

전사(戰士)보다 인내심 있는 사람이 낫고, 도시를 점령하는 사람보다 자신의 화를 다스리는 사람이 낫다.

16:33 The lot(제비) is cast into the lap(무릎), 제비는 무릎에 던져지고,

but its every decision is from the LORD. 그 모든 결정은 여호와께로부터 난다.
