Dear Chris,

We have received your letter dated March 21st reminding us that payment on our January statement is overdue.

We were under the impression that payment was not due until the end of this month, when we would have no difficulty in settling your account. However, it seems that we misunderstood your terms of payment.

Under the circumstances, we would be grateful if you would allow us to defer payment until April 30th.

We very much regret having to make this request and hope you will be able to grant it.
