잠수함 스웨덴, 고틀란드급 중간수명연장 완료

2월 14일 스웨덴의 고틀란드급 잠수함 HMS 할란드 함이 MLU를 마치고 사브의 카를스크로나 조선소에서 진수됐네요. HMS 할란드함은 고틀란드급의 3번함이자 마지막 중간수명연장 개량을 받은 함정으로 이번 MLU에는 차기 블레킹에급 잠수함과 동일한 기술과 시스템이 적용돼, 센서와 지휘체계를 포함한 20개 이상의 중앙시스템이 교체됐다고 합니다. 2022년 사브가 계약을 수주했었는데, 계약규모는 11억 크로나(1억 1600만 달러)였습니다. 

1번함은 HMS 고틀란드는 2018년, 2번함인 HMS 우플란드는 2019년 MLU를 마쳤는데 코로나 때문인지 3번함은 많이 지체됐네요. 1, 2번과 3번함의 체계가 다를 수도 있겠습니다.

Defense company Saab has launched the third and final Gotland-class submarine HMS Halland after mid-life upgrade (MLU) for the Swedish Navy.

As disclosed, the vessel was floated out at Saab’s shipyard in Karlskrona. HMS Halland is the final submarine in the Gotland class to undergo the upgrade, which includes new technologies and systems of the same type that will be used in upcoming Blekinge-class submarines.

During the modification, more than twenty of the central systems in HMS Halland were replaced, including sensors and command systems. These systems are the same as those that will be used in the Blekinge-class submarines.

The upgrade means that HMS Halland will be able to carry out maritime missions for many years to come with new capabilities, alongside its sister submarines HMS Gotland and HMS Uppland which have previously undergone similar mid-life modifications.

“Securing critical underwater infrastructure and sea lanes is more important than ever. The launch of HMS Halland is a testament to Saab’s ability to upgrade and deliver advanced submarines with the capabilities the Swedish Navy requires. With HMS Halland, the Swedish Navy, and by extension NATO, is given additional muscle to defend and monitor the Baltic Sea,” said Mats Wicksell, Head of Saab’s Business Area Kockums.

In March 2022, Saab signed a contract with the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) for the mid-life upgrade of HMS Halland. The total order value was SEK 1.1 billion (around $116 million).

The first vessel in this class, HMS Gotland, completed its mid-life upgrade in 2018, while the second, HMS Uppland, was launched in 2019.

1980년대에 만든 Västergötland도 1척이 아직 있긴 하네요.

A26 블레킹에급은 2척만 주문돼 있는데 이걸 추가주문한다는 얘기가 아직 없네요.
