The Fox and The Goat A Fox fell into a well, and though it was not very deep, he found that he could not get out again. After he had been in the well a long time, a thirsty Goat came by. The Goat thought the Fox had gone down to drink, and so he asked if the water was good."The finest in the whole country," said the crafty Fox, "jump in and try it. There is more than enough for both of us."The thirsty Goat immediately jumped in and began to drink. The Fox just as quickly jumped on the Goat's back and leaped from the tip of the Goat's horn out of the well.The foolish Goat now saw what a plight he had got into, and beg the Fox to help him out. But the Fox was already on his way to the woods."If you had as much sense as you have beard, old fellow," he said as he ran, "you would have been more cautious about finding a way to get out again before you jumped in."Look before you leap!     New words thirsty : 목마른 leaped : 날뛰다 already : 이미벌써 cautious :　조심성있는 beg : 구걸하다. 부탁한다. 간청한다. immediately : 곧, 즉각, 즉시 ask : 묻다. 질문하다 cautious : 조심성있는, 신중한 before : 전에, 이전에, 일찍이, 이미 quickly : 조급한, 성급한, 성마른   해석 여우와 염소 한 여우가 우물에 빠졌고 비록 그곳이 깊지는 않더라고 그는 자신이 다시 빠져 나올수 없다는 것을 깨달았다. 그가 우물속에서 오랫동안 있은 후, 목마른 한마리 염소가 지나갔다. 그 염소는 그 여우가 물을 마시기 위해 그곳에 내려갔다고 생각했고, 해서 그는 그 물이 좋은지 물어보았다."이 나라 전체를 통틀어 가장 훌륭해. 들어와서 한번 마셔봐. 우리 둘 모두 충분히 마시고도 남을 만큼 있어." 라고 그 교활한 여우는 말했다.목이 마른 염소는 바로 뛰어들어갔고 물을 마시기 시작했다. 여우는 그 염소 등위로 단지 재빨리 뛰어올라 우물 밖에 있는 염소의 뿔 꼭대기로 뛰어 올라갔다.어리석은 염소는 지금 자신이 얼마나 큰 곤궁에 빠졌는지 알았고, 그 여우에게 자신을 빼내달라고 청하였다 그러나 그 여우는 이미 숲을 향해 길을 떠났다."네가 오랜 친구인 수염을 지니고 있는 것만큼이나(= 당신 턱에 난 수염만큼이나 ) 많은 재치를 지니고 있었다면 너는 네가 뛰어들어오기 전에 다시 나갈 방도를 찾는데 보다 더 주의를 기울였어야 했어." 라고 그는 달려가면서 말했다.뛰어 들기에 앞서 살펴라 !
