Staff Enchanter

A Staff Enchanter is a crafting station added in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn. It is located in Tel Mithryn and master Neloth will grant access to it upon completion of the quest Reluctant Steward.

EnchantingEdit

In order to enchant a staff, the enchanter requires an unenchanted staff, the knowledge of the spell itself, and one or more heart stones.

Unenchanted staves can be bought from Neloth and heart stones can be mined from heart stone veins throughout Solstheim's ashlands.

It should be noted that staff enchanting will increase the enchanting skill significantly, but Fortify Enchanting potions do not increase the power of the staffs created.

BugsEdit

This section contains bugs related to Staff Enchanter. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

1. Please reload an old save to confirm‎ if the bug is still happening.
2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template 360  / XB1  ,  PS3  / PS4  ,  PC  / MAC  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person-anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.

• If the Black Book is read while inside the room where it is located, on return from the Book, the Staff Enchanter may be gone. Leave the area and return, and it should be back.
•  360   After completing the sidequests for Neloth, and after he offers you a place in House Telvanni, the staff enchanter may disappear. Leaving the area or re-loading may remedy the problem, but at times will not.
• A Staff of Thunderbolts created at the staff enchanter will have the same base damage as a Staff of Lightning Bolts even though Thunderbolt is an Expert level Destruction spell with the same base damage as Incinerate and Icy Spear, while Lightning Bolt is an Apprentice level Destruction spell with the same base damage as Firebolt and Ice Spike.
