참부모경 - 541. 참부모님께서 남기신 말씀

참부모님께서는 일생에 걸쳐 많은 말씀을 남기셨다. 말씀은 인류에게 남기신 소중한 교본이다. 그 말씀에는 하나님의 인간 창조와 구원의 비밀을 비롯한 위대한 원리가 담겨 있다. 참부모님께서는 1997년 10월 13일 훈독회를 제정하시고 말씀을 읽고 생활화할 것을 당부하셨다.
 
1 아버님이 역사시대를 지나오면서 많은 말을 했습니다. 개인에 대한 사정, 가정에 대한 사정, 나라에 대한 사정, 혹은 세계에 대한 사정, 하늘나라에 대한 사정을 다 말했습니다. 그 말한 것이 어디에 가서 머무르고 있느냐가 문제입니다. 하나님의 말은 반드시 창조적인 실체를 이루어 놓아야 되는데, 그 말한 것의 실체적 대상들이 어디에 있느냐 하는 것이 문제입니다. 그러면 말한 사람은 그 말을 자기 말로서 했느냐, 세계의 말로서 했느냐? 그 말은 자기를 위해서 한 것이 아니고 세계를 위해서 한 것입니다. 그 세계를 위한 말이 세계적인 실체를 가져야만 세계를 위한 말로서 말한 사람도 관계를 가질 수 있습니다. 그것이 이뤄지지 않으면 관계를 가질 수 없습니다. 말은 반드시 주체적인 근원이 되어서 상대적 실체와 더불어 하나되어야만 말의 목적이 이뤄집니다. 그렇기 때문에 말한 것이 실체로 이뤄져야 됩니다.
 
2 아버님 말씀은 혼자 말한 것이 아닙니다. 하나님 대신 말한 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 교본과 교재에는 개인의 말은 하나도 들어가 있지 않습니다. 내가 영계와 공명된 자리에서 하늘이 말한 것입니다. 그 말씀을 듣고 나도 깨치는 것입니다. 내가 말씀을 할 때에 하나님과 영계가 협조하고 천사세계가 협조합니다.
 
3 해방 후 제일 복잡다단했던 정치·경제·문화의 변화시대에 40년 동안 싸워서 넘어지지 않고 살아 나온 모든 내용이 말씀집에 들어가 있습니다. 장래뿐만 아니라 역사시대의 그 어떠한 문제도 부모님이 거쳐 온 그 길과 비교하면 아무것도 아닙니다. ‘여기에는 백과사전과 같이 모든 승리의 방법이 들어 있기 때문에 이 책을 공부하면 사회과학을 공부한 왕자가 될 수 있다.’고 할 때 공부를 하겠습니까, 안 하겠습니까? 과학기술로부터 정치·경제·종교·문화 등등 안 한 말이 없습니다. 지금까지 말한 것은 전부 뜻이 있어서 한 것입니다. 이렇게 볼 때 정치세계, 경제세계, 지식세계 등 모든 것이 장래와 통해야 되고, 세계와 통해야 되고, 하나의 이상세계와 통해야 되고, 권력구조도 거기에 통할 수 있는 시스템을 갖추어야 됩니다. 그러지 못하면 아무리 잘하더라도 망해 버리는 것입니다. 물도 가만히 있으면 썩는다는 것입니다.
   
4 참부모를 알아야 됩니다. 참부모가 누구입니까? 참부모를 다 모른다는 것입니다. 여러분이 참부모를 모르니까 말씀집을 읽어야 됩니다. 거기에는 엄청난 내용들이 있습니다. 그 내용을 어떻게 다 내 것으로 만들 수 있느냐? 이미 모든 것을 가르쳐 주었습니다. 말씀집을 읽어야 됩니다. 여러분의 생명 이상으로, 가정·종족·민족·국가·세계·천주 이상으로 필요하다고 생각해야 됩니다. 하버드대학교 도서관의 책에도 없습니다. 아무리 찾아보아도 거기에는 통일교회에서 가르쳐 주는 내용과 같은 것이 없습니다. 그 말은 아무런 가치가 없다는 것입니다. 그 모든 것들은 사라져야 됩니다. 그렇지만 말씀집이 남아 있게 되면 언제든지 그 내용을 반복해서 읽을 수 있습니다. 그러니까 열심히 공부해야 됩니다. 그러면 높은 차원으로 연결될 수 있습니다.
 
5 아버님의 말씀을 보면 50년 전에 한 말씀이나 지금 한 말씀이나 똑같습니다. 그것이 놀라운 것입니다. 청춘시대부터 노년시대까지 파란만장한 수난길을 거쳐 왔지만 그때의 그 말씀을 이루어 나가는 것입니다. 아버님 말은 흘러가지 않습니다. 영원히 문제입니다. 문인세계에도 문제가 되고 예술세계에도 문제가 됩니다. 아버님은 다각적인 면에서 소질을 가진 사람입니다. 문학적인 면에서 장편소설을 매일 한 편씩 지을 수 있는 능력을 갖고 있는 사람입니다. 감옥에 들어가서 그런 일을 했습니다. 시적 감정이 풍부합니다. 또 혁명적인 말을 쓸 줄 압니다. 말씀집을 읽어 보면 상상할 수 없는 말이 툭 튀어나와 연결되어 나갑니다. 혁명적입니다. 이론적이지만은 않습니다. 몇 고개를 뛰어 넘어가서 연결시켜 놓은 것입니다. 그런 것을 다 아는 사람입니다.
 
6 50년 전에 말씀한 것이나 지금 말씀한 것이나 다 마찬가지입니다. 한 내용으로 얘기했습니다. 하나님은 영원합니다. 그래서 몇 억천만년이 지나도 말씀한 그 내용은 마찬가지일 것입니다. 같은 기준을 중심삼고 말을 해야만 역사적 하나님, 과정적 하나님의 슬픔을 해원할 수 있는 아들의 상속권을 가지고 하나님을 해방할 수 있습니다. 내 멋대로 한 말이 아닙니다. 내 마음대로 말하지 않았습니다. 말씀을 하게 될 때에는 절대 나 혼자 안 했습니다. 하나님이 앞서기 전에는 입을 열지 않았습니다. 그렇기 때문에 이 말씀이 위대한 것입니다. 이 말씀을 하게 된다면 본심이 우러나옵니다. 아버님 자신이 옛날에 얘기하던 그 경지에 들어가게 되면 그때의 심정과 그때 영계에서 협조하던 영력이 축소되어 들어오게 됩니다. 축소된 그것을 전 세계 가정들이 그와 같은 마음을 가지고 저 영계에 보냄으로써 축소된 심정이 세계를 커버할 수 있는 확대 심정권, 핵심권이 연결될 수 있는 재창조의 능력이 개재된 힘이 있다는 사실을 알아야 됩니다. 훈독회를 싫어하는 사람들은 그 심령 상태가 결여된 것이요, 병폐가 생기고 타락할 수 있는 근원이 곁다리에 나온다는 것입니다. 밥보다도 맛있고 무엇보다도 맛있어야 됩니다. 시간이 없어서 그렇지 24시간, 몇 년을 계속해도 이것을 한꺼번에 한술의 밥같이 삼켜 버려야 되겠다는 마음을 가지고 훈독회에 임하는 자세를 갖추어야 됩니다.
 
7 아버님은 어디에 가서 말씀을 하든지 그 환경에 맞는 말씀을 합니다. 그러니까 미리 설교 준비를 해서 말씀하는 것이 아닙니다. 즉석에서 영감에 의해서 합니다. 다르다는 것입니다. 지금까지의 기록을 읽어 보면 알 것입니다. 말씀들이 전부 같은 내용 같지만 전후가 다릅니다. 가는 길이 다릅니다. 그러니까 어떻게 생각하면 어렵다면 어렵다는 것입니다. 앞으로 말씀을 공부하려면 정성을 들이면서 해 나가야 잘 풀립니다. 그러다가도 어떤 대목에서는 이해할 수 없게 비약하고 멈춥니다. 여러분이 그런 것들을 알려면 기도를 해야 됩니다.
 
8 내가 원고를 써서 말을 하는 사람이 아닙니다. 원고 없이 말을 잘하는 사람입니다. 하나님이 그렇게 훈련시켰습니다. 어디를 가든지 새로운 창조를 하는 것입니다. 창조할 수 있는 원본이 하나님인데, 하나님과 더불어 하나되어서 발표한 것입니다. 어떤 때에는 말하다가 틀리면 혀가 안 돌아갑니다. 틀리면 압니다. 거동이 부자연스럽습니다. 그렇게 발표한 말씀입니다. 누가 그것을 점령 못합니다. 그렇기 때문에 주일에 설교하더라도 5분 전까지 제목을 허락지 않습니다. 얼마나 죽을 지경인지 모릅니다. 사형장에 나가는 것과 똑같습니다. 그러니 심각한 것입니다. 아무것도 준비 없이 나서서 입을 열기 시작하면 천하의 모든 것이 녹아납니다. 그런 역사를 한 원본 기록이 말씀입니다.
 
9 아버님 자신이 함부로 말씀을 하지 않았습니다. 주일 같은 때에 얘기하게 되면 5분 전까지 제목을 찾지 못합니다. 책을 보고 참고하거나 역사적인 인물들이 해오던 것을 제목을 가져다가 붙여서는 안 된다는 것입니다. 순전히 하늘 것으로서 남겨야 됩니다. 그렇기 때문에 훈독 말씀은 살아 있습니다. 거기에 일치만 되는 날에는 부흥이 벌어지는 것입니다. 밤이든 새벽이든 시간과 계절을 극복하고 시대와 세기를 극복해서 말씀이 살아 있다는 것입니다. 활화산과 마찬가지입니다. 화구(火口)만 생기면 불을 뿜어댑니다.
 
10 여러분이 말씀을 들으면 그 말씀에 동화되어야 합니다. 비장한 말을 들으면 속으로 통곡이 나오고 그래야 됩니다. 봄이 되면 싹이 다시 나오는 것과 마찬가지입니다. 말씀은 그런 능력이 있습니다. 보통 말씀과 다릅니다. 아버님이 그런 심정적 권내에 있어서 주파를 만들어 놓았습니다. 거기에 들어가면 그 무엇이 있습니다. 보통 사람의 말과 다릅니다. 마음이 울려 나옵니다. 마음이 울려 나오면 나 자신이 거기에 점령당합니다. 아버님 자신도 자신이 한 말씀을 훈독하면 수십년이 지났지만 그 경지에 대번에 들어갑니다. 깜깜한 밤중에 아침 햇빛을 바라는 것과 같이 40년 전에 밝은 햇빛을 찾아 나왔지만 이제 정오에 이르러 그림자도 없는 세상이 된 것입니다 세계를 반드시 하늘나라로 바꾸어 놓을 수 있는 힘을 말씀이 갖고 있다는 것입니다. 그런 시대가 세계에 뻗치게 되면 세계에는 사탄이 없어집니다. 어두운 세계는 없어집니다. 어두운 세계는 없어집니다. 지상·천상세계가 광명의 세계로서 하나님의 빛을 중심삼고 사랑할 수 있는 사랑의 천지가 연결된다는 것입니다. 그런 재창조의 조화능력을 지니고 있는 말씀을 발표했다는 것이 위대합니다.
 
11 통일교회를 창립한 것이 35세 때입니다. 말씀집이 600권이 넘지만, 통일교회를 세운 그때의 말씀이나 몇 십년을 거치고 난 지금의 말씀이나 전부 하나의 내용이지 그 말씀이 올라갔다 내려갔다 하거나 변한 것이 없습니다. 그것이 위대한 것입니다. 하나님을 중심삼고 선포한 그 말씀의 내용이 변하는 세상의 곡절 가운데 정면충돌을 하고자 했지 도망가거나 돌아가지 않았기 때문에 아버님이 유명해졌습니다.
 
12 여러분이 말씀집을 읽지 않으면 영계에 가서도 아버님을 만나러 올 수가 없습니다. 지상에서 내가 해온 것, 관심을 가지고 둘러보고 조사해 본 내용이 말씀집에 다 들어가 있습니다. 그것을 읽지 않으면 내가 걸어온 탕감복귀노정을 발견하는 것은 불가능합니다. 예수님에 대해 깊은 말씀을 했습니다. 그것을 기독교 목사가 읽는다면 입을 열어서 아버님을 이단이라고 말하지 못합니다. 그러한 내용들이 들어 있습니다. 1960년대에 그런 말씀을 다 했는데 지금까지도 반대합니다. 아버님에 대하여 반대하는 죄를 짓는 것은 2천년 역사의 승리권을 형성한 모든 것을 방해하는 것과 같은 무서운 일입니다.

真の父母様は、生涯にわたって多くのみ言を残された。み言は、人類に残された貴い教 えである。そのみ言には、神様の人間創造と救いの秘密をはじめとする偉大な原理が収められている。真の父母様は、一九九七年十月十三日に訓読会を制定さ れ、み言を読んで生活化することを願われた。

1 お父様は歴史時代を経てきながら、たくさんの話をしました。個人についての事情、家庭についての事情、国についての事情、あるいは世界についての事情、天 の国についての事情をすべて語りました。その語ったことがどこに行ってとどまっているかが問題です。神様の言葉は、必ず創造的な実体をつくっておかなけれ ばならないのですが、その語ったことの実体的対象がどこにあるのかが問題です。
それでは、語った人は、その言葉を自分の言葉として語ったのでしょうか、世界の言葉として語ったのでしょうか。その言葉は、自分のために語ったもの ではなく、世界のために語ったものです。その世界のための言葉が世界的な実体をもってこそ、世界のための言葉として、語った人も関係をもつことができま す。それが成し遂げられなければ、関係をもつことができません。言葉は必ず主体的な根源となって、相対的実体と共に一つになってこそ、言葉の目的が成し遂 げられるのです。ですから、語ったことが実体として成し遂げられなければなりません。

2 お父様のみ言は、一人で語ったものではありません。神様の代わりに語ったのです。ですから、教本と教材には個人の言葉は一つも入っていません。私が霊界と 共鳴した立場で、天が語ったのです。その話を聞いて、私も悟るのです。私がみ言を語るとき、神様と霊界が協助し、天使世界が協助します。

3 解放後、最も多事多端だった政治、経済、文化の変化時代に、四十年間闘って、倒れることなく生きてきたあらゆる内容が、み言集に入っています。将来だけで なく、歴史時代のそのいかなる問題も、父母様が経てきたその道と比較すれば、何でもありません。
「ここには、百科事典のように、あらゆる勝利の方法が入っているので、この本を学べば、社会科学を学んだ王者になれる」と言うとき、学ぶでしょう か、学ばないでしょうか。科学技術から政治、経済、宗教、文化等々、語らなかったことがありません。今まで語ったことは、すべて意味があって語ったので す。このように見るとき、政治世界、経済世界、知識世界など、すべてのものが将来と通じなければならず、世界と通じなければならず、一つの理想世界と通じ なければならず、権力構造もそこに通じるシステムを備えなければなりません。そのようにすることができなければ、いくらうまくやっても、滅びてしまうので す。水も、とどまっていれば腐るというのです。

4 真の父母を知らなければなりません。真の父母とは誰でしょうか。真の父母をみな知らないというのです。皆さんは真の父母を知らないので、み言集を読まなけ ればなりません。そこには、途方もない内容があります。その内容を、どのようにしてすべて自分のものにできるのでしょうか。既にあらゆることを教えてあげ ました。み言集を読まなければなりません。皆さんの生命以上に、家庭、氏族、民族、国家、世界、天宙以上に必要だと考えなければならないのです。
ハーバード大学の図書館の本にもありません。いくら探し求めてみても、そこには統一教会で教えてくれる内容のようなものはありません。そのような価値はないということです。そのようなものは、消えなければなりません。
しかし、み言集が残っていれば、いつでもその内容を反復して読むことができます。ですから、一生懸命に学ばなければなりません。そうすれば、高い次元に連結されるのです。

5 お父様のみ言を見れば、五十年前に語ったみ言も、今語ったみ言も、同じです。それが驚くべきことなのです。青春時代から老年時代まで、波瀾万丈な受難の道 を経てきましたが、その時の、そのみ言を成し遂げていくのです。お父様の言葉は流れていきません。永遠に問題になります。文人世界でも問題になり、芸術世 界でも問題になります。
お父様は、多角的な面で素質をもった人です。文学的な面では、長編小説を毎日一編ずつ書くことができる能力をもっている人です。監獄に入っていって、そのようなことをしました。詩的感情が豊かなのです。
また、革命的な言葉を使うことができます。み言集を読んでみると、想像できない言葉がぽんと飛び出して連結されていきます。革命的です。理論的なだけではありません。いくつかの峠を飛び越えていって、連結させておいたのです。そのようなことをすべて知っている人です。

6 五十年前に語ったことも、今語ったことも、すべて同じです。同じ内容で話しました。神様は永遠です。ですから、何億万年が過ぎても、語ったその内容は同じ です。同じ基準を中心として語ってこそ、歴史的な神様、過程的な神様の悲しみを解怨できる息子の相続権をもって、神様を解放できるのです。自分勝手に語っ た言葉ではありません。
私の思いどおりに語ったのではありません。み言を語るときは、絶対に私一人では語りませんでした。神様が先に語るまでは、口を開かなかったのです。ですから、このみ言が偉大なのです。このみ言を語れば、本心が湧き出てきます。
お父様自身が昔、話していたその境地に入っていくようになれば、その時の心情とその時に霊界から協助していた霊力が縮小されて入ってきます。その縮 小されたものを全世界の家庭がそのような思いをもって霊界に送ることによって、縮小された心情が世界をカバーできる拡大心情圏、核心圏が連結されるので す。そこには、再創造の能力が介在した力があるという事実を知らなければなりません。訓読会を嫌だと思う人々は、その心霊状態が欠如しているのであり、病 弊が生じて堕落し得る根源が不用なところに出てくるというのです。
御飯よりもおいしく、何よりもおいしくなければなりません。時間がないので、そこまでやりませんが、たとえ二十四時間、何年続けるとしても、「これ を一気に、一さじの御飯のようにのみ込んでしまわなければならない」という思いをもって、訓読会に臨む姿勢を整えなければなりません。

7 お父様は、どこに行ってみ言を語ろうと、その環境に合ったみ言を語ります。ですから、あらかじめ説教の準備をしてみ言を語るのではありません。その場で、 霊感によって語るのです。それが違うというのです。今までの記録を読んでみれば分かるはずです。み言は、すべて同じ内容のようですが、前後が違うのです。 行く道が違います。ですから、ある面から考えてみれば、難しいと言えば難しいのです。
今後、み言を勉強しようと思えば、精誠を尽くしながら勉強してこそ、よく解けるのです。そのようにしても、ある題目に来ると解くことができず、ある 題目では理解できないほど飛躍したり、ストップしたりします。皆さんがそのようなものを理解しようとすれば、祈らなければなりません。

8 私は、原稿を書いて語る人ではありません。原稿なしで上手に語る人です。神様がそのように訓練させました。どこに行っても新しい創造をするのです。創造で きる原本が神様なので、神様と共に一つになって発表したのです。ある時は、語っていて間違うと、舌が回らなくなります。間違えば分かるのです。挙動が不自 然になります。そのようにして発表したみ言です。誰もそれを占領できません。
ですから、聖日に説教をしても、五分前まで題目を決めさせてくれません。それは、どれほど苦しい境地か分かりません。死刑場に出ていくのと同じで す。ですから、深刻なのです。何も準備せずに出ていき、口を開き始めると、天下のあらゆるものが夢中になるのです。そのような役事をした原本の記録がみ言 です。

9 お父様自身は、いい加減にみ言を語りませんでした。聖日のような時に話をすれば、五分前まで題目が見つかりません。本を見て参考にしたり、歴史的な人物た ちが語っていたことを題目にもってきてつけたりしてはいけないというのです。純粋に天のものとして残さなければなりません。
ですから、訓読のみ言は生きています。そこに一致さえすれば、復興するのです。夜であれ早朝であれ、時間と季節を克服し、時代と世紀を克服して、み言が生きているというのです。活火山と同じです。きっかけさえあれば、炎が噴出するのです。

10 皆さんがみ言を聞けば、そのみ言に同化しなければなりません。悲壮な話を聞けば、心で痛哭しなければなりません。春になれば、芽が再び出てくるのと同じで す。み言には、そのような能力があります。普通の言葉とは異なります。お父様がそのような心情的圏内に、周波をつくっておきました。そこに入っていけば、 その何かが存在します。普通の人の言葉とは違うというのです。心に響いてきます。心に響けば、私自身がそこに占領されます。
お父様自身も、自分が語ったみ言を訓読すれば、数十年が過ぎているのですが、その境地にすぐ入っていきます。真っ暗な夜中に朝の太陽の光を願うのと 同様に、四十年前、明るい太陽の光を探し求めていたのですが、今や正午に至り、影もない世の中になったのです。明るい天下になったというのです。世界を必 ず天の国に変えることのできる力を、み言はもっています。
そのような時代が世界に広がれば、世界にはサタンがいなくなります。暗い世界はなくなるのです。地上・天上世界が光明の世界となり、神様の光を中心 として愛することができる、愛の天地が連結されるというのです。そのような再創造の造化の能力をもっているみ言を発表したことが偉大なのです。

11 統一教会を創立したのが三十五歳の時です。み言集が六百巻を超えますが、統一教会を立てたその時のみ言も、数十年を経た今のみ言も、すべて同じ内容であっ て、そのみ言が上下したり、変化したりしたものがありません。それが偉大なのです。神様を中心として宣布したそのみ言の内容が、変わる世の中の曲折の中 で、正面から衝突しようとしたのであって、逃げ出したり回避したりはしなかったので、お父様が有名になったのです。

12 皆さんがみ言集を読まなければ、霊界に行っても、お父様に会いにくることができないでしょう。地上で私がしてきたこと、関心をもって見渡して調査してみた 内容が、み言集にすべて入っています。それを読まなければ、私が歩んできた蕩減復帰路程を発見することは不可能です。
イエス様について深いみ言を語りました。それをキリスト教の牧師が読んだとすれば、口を開いてお父様を「異端だ」と言うことはできません。そのよう な内容が入っています。一九六〇年代にそのようなみ言をすべて語ったのですが、今でも反対しています。お父様に対して反対する罪を犯すことは、二千年の歴 史の勝利圏を形成したあらゆることに対して妨害するような、恐ろしいことなのです。

Chambumo Gyeong - 541. True Parents' teachings

True Parents have bequeathed to us many teachings during the course of their lives. Their words constitute textbooks on the Principle, given for all of humankind. They reveal the essence of God's creation and the secrets of salvation for all people. True Parents established hoondokhae, "gathering for reading and learning," on October 13, 1997, asking everyone to read True Parents' words and make them part of their daily life. 

1 During this period I have spoken about many things. I have said everything that had to be said about the circumstances of the individual, the family, the nation, the world and the heavenly kingdom. The question is, where have my words settled? The Word of God should be realized by creatively translating it into substantial action. Then the question is, where can we find their substantial realization? Did the person who spoke those words speak them for his own sake, or for that of the world? I spoke those words not for myself but for the world. Only when the words spoken for the world come to have substantial form worldwide can they, as words with that purpose, come to have a relationship with the listener. Unless this is achieved, the two cannot form a relationship. The spoken word achieves its purpose only when its source, the subject partner, and its substantial counterpart become one. What has been spoken therefore must be made substantial. (301-114, 1999/04/25)

2 My words did not come from me. I spoke them on behalf of God. The textbooks and teaching materials do not contain even one word from me. As I stood in the position of resonance with the spirit world, heaven spoke through me. So when I hear those words, I too become enlightened. When I speak, God and the spirit world, including the angelic world, cooperate with me. (2010/02/03)

3 The time following the liberation of Korea was the most complicated and eventful period of change in politics, culture and the economy. I lived through that period, fighting my way for 40 years and not once falling down. Every detail is recorded in The Sermons of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon (The Sermons). What we will face in the future and all the problems in past historical ages are nothing compared to the path walked by True Parents.

If you are told, "These books contain all the methods of success; they are like the encyclopedia of victory, so if you study these books you will become the prince of the field of social science," would you study them or not? I have said everything about all fields of endeavor, from science and technology to politics, religion, culture, the economy and so forth. Every word I spoke was brimming with vision. From this perspective, the political,^financial and intellectual worlds must have a connection with the future, the world, and the united ideal world. Power structures also must have a way to connect. No matter how brilliant you may be, if you do not do this, you will perish. Water grows stale if it is not moving. (207-070, 1990/11/01)

4 You need to know True Parents. Who are True Parents? No one knows who they are. Since you do not know True Parents, you should read The Sermons. These books contain amazing content. How can you make that content your own? I have taught everything already. You need to read The Sermons. You should think that they are more necessary than your own life, and more necessary than your family, tribe, people, nation, world and cosmos. You cannot find such content anywhere else, even in the libraries of Harvard University. No matter how much you research elsewhere, you will never find a book that contains the content taught by the Unification Church. The words from fallen history do not have true value. They may all disappear. But, if The Sermons remain, read those books anytime you can, again and again. For this purpose you should study hard. They will lift you into a higher dimension. 5 When you read my words, you will find that what I said 50 years ago is the same as what I am saying today. This is an amazing fact. I have lived a tumultuous life of extreme ups and downs, a life full of suffering from youth to old age, and yet I continue to realize the words I spoke back then.

My words do not drift away. They address eternal issues, and raise issues for the literary world and the art world. I am a person skilled in various fields. In the literary field I am capable of writing a novel in a day. I even did so when I was in prison. I am full of poetic sentiments. In addition, I know how to utilize revolutionary words. When you read The Sermons, you will find words that you cannot imagine leaping out at you and interconnecting as creative new ideas. They are revolutionary. They are not just theoretical. I have tied them together, sometimes traversing many hills and obstacles weaving them all together. I am a person who sees all of these relationships. (325-108, 2000/06/30)

6 What I said 50 years ago and what I am saying now are one and the same. I have spoken about the same things. God is eternal, and His Word will remain the same even after eons of time. Only when I speak the same words based on the same standard can I liberate God with the authority of inheritance as His Son. This is how I can release His sorrow that accumulated throughout the painful march of history.

They are not words spoken of my own accord. I never spoke of my own accord. I never even opened my mouth if God did not lead the way. That is why these words are so great. When you speak these words, your innermost feelings are revealed. When I go to the place where I spoke those words of old, the heart I felt then and the spiritual power with which the spirit world cooperated with me at that time concentrates itself and comes into me. And you should know, when all families in the world have the same heart that I had back then and send this to the spirit world, they can unleash a power that can lead to re-creation and can expand into a realm of heart, the core realm, that can cover the entire world.

People who dislike doing hoon-dokhae lack this spirituality. They may become sick, and even put themselves in danger of falling. You should find hoondokhae more delicious than rice or any other food. Your attitude toward hoondokhae should be such that you regret not having enough time to do it. You should wish to do hoondokhae 24 hours a day, for years on end. Every time you do hoondokhae you should wish to swallow the words all at once, as if they were a spoonful of rice. (323-244, 2000/06/03)

7 Wherever I speak, I speak words befitting that environment. What that means is that I do not prepare my sermons. I speak spontaneously by inspiration. The words are different each time. You will realize this if you read them. Though the words seem to cover the same ground, because the context is different they follow different paths. In a way, if you think that they are difficult, they will be difficult.

From now on in studying the Word, you will understand it fully only if you do it while offering devotions. As you continue reading, you may find a passage that you cannot work out, or a passage that you cannot understand because the subject matter leaps and halts incomprehensibly. To understand such passages you will need to pray. (144-289, 1986/04/26)

8 I am not a person who normally writes manuscripts for speeches. In fact, I can speak eloquently without a manuscript. God trained me to become such a person. Wherever I go, I create new things. God is the original essence from which I create, and I declare those words together with God. Sometimes when I say something wrong my tongue just freezes. I know it when I am wrong. My actions become unnatural. This is how I declare the Word. Therefore, no one can claim it from me. This being the case even for a Sunday sermon, I do not know the title even five minutes before I am scheduled to speak.

You have no idea how difficult that is. I feel as if I am going to my own execution; that is how serious it is. I step forward without having made any preparation, but when I open my mouth I speak words that contain everything in heaven and on earth. The Sermons are the original record of such miracles that I have wrought. (316-046, 2000/02/09)

9 I never speak words recklessly. When I am scheduled to speak, say, to give a Sunday sermon, I cannot come up with the title until five minutes before the scheduled time. I cannot refer to books or take citations from what historical figures have done and give it a title. What I speak has to be left complete and intact as the words oV heaven. That is why the words of hoondokhae are living words. On the day you align with those words, your revival will take place. These words stay alive, beyond time, be it night or early morning. They transcend the seasons, the ages, and the centuries. It is like an active volcano. Once a crater is made, a volcano breathes fire through that opening. (532-016, 2006/07/10)

10 When you hear my words, you should assimilate them. When you hear tragic words, you should weep in your heart. It is the same as buds beginning to sprout again when spring comes. My words have such power. They are different from other words. I have created a frequency within the realm of heart. When you enter it you will find something in it. It is different from ordinary words. These words resound in the heart. And when you hear these words resounding in your heart, you yourself are conquered by them.

When I read and study the words I myself have spoken, though decades have passed, I can still reach that stage in an instant. Just as you have wished to see morning sunlight in the dark night, I worked my way through 40 years in search of bright sunlight. Now it is noon and this has become a world without shadows. All of heaven and earth are flooded with light.

My words will not fail; they have the power to change the world into the heavenly kingdom. Where such an era unfolds, Satan disappears. The world of darkness disappears. As bright worlds of light, the heaven and earth of love connect at the place where the earthly world and the heavenly world can love, centering on the light of God. The fact that I have publicly declared these words, which have this amazing power of re-creation, is truly momentous. (322-012, 2000/05/11)

11 I founded the Unification Church at age 35. More than 600 volumes of The Sermons are now in print, but my words at the time when I established the Unification Church and the words I speak today, decades later, are one and the same. My words themselves have never gone up or come down or changed in any way. That is what is great about them. I became famous because I tackled the world head-on amid its ever-changing complications, speaking words directly from God that did not avoid challenges or difficulties. (503-035, 2005/08/01)

12 If you do not read The Sermons, you cannot come to meet me when we go to the spirit world. Everything I have done on earth, everything I have taken an interest in, surveyed, and examined is included in The Sermons. If you do not read them, it will be impossible for you to discover the course of restoration through indemnity that I have walked.

I have spoken profoundly about Jesus. After reading what I teach about Jesus, no pastor can open their mouth and say that I am a heretic. All the content in those books is like that. I spoke these words in the 1960s, and these people are still opposing me now. The act of opposing me is a terrible sin. It is equivalent to obstructing everything that forms the realm of victory achieved in the last 2,000 years of history. (190-231, 1989/06/19)
