인도네시아, 이탈리아에서 PPA급 다목적 초계함 2척 구입

원래 이탈리아 해군의 PPA급 다목적 초계함 5, 6번함이었다가 인도네시아에 팔린 2척의 PPA 중 1번함이 이탈리아에서 7월 2일 인도됐네요. 1번함의 함명은 KRI 브라위자야, 2번함은 KRI 프라부-실리왕이함이라고 합니다. 

이탈리아의 조선업체 핀칸티에리(Fincantieri)가 인도네시아 해군에 첫 번째 다목적 전투함(MPCS/PPA)을 인도했다.

공개된 내용에 따르면, KRI 브라위자야-320(KRI BRAWIJAYA-320) 함정의 인도식은 2025년 7월 2일 이탈리아 라스페치아, 무지아노에 위치한 핀칸티에리 조선소에서 열렸다.

원래 이 두 척은 이탈리아 해군을 위해 다섯 번째와 여섯 번째로 건조된 함정이었으나, 2024년에 약 11억 8천만 유로 규모로 체결된 계약에 따라 인도네시아 해군에 제공된다. 두 척은 각각 KRI 브라위자야-320, KRI 프라부 실리왕이-321(KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321)로 명명됐으며, 핀칸티에리는 2025년 초 함정의 명명식을 개최했다.

이들 함정은 인도네시아 해군에서 가장 큰 전투함이 될 예정이며, 인도-태평양 지역에서 국가의 해양 능력을 강화할 것으로 기대되고 있다.

핀칸티에리에 따르면, MPCS/PPA는 디젤과 가스터빈을 결합한 추진 시스템(CODAG)과 전기 추진 시스템을 모두 갖추고 있다.

이 함정은 전방 전투작전, 해양 순찰, 구조 및 민간 보호 활동 등 다양한 임무 수행을 목적으로 설계됐다. 또한, 선측 크레인 또는 선미 램프를 이용해 RHIB(강선형 고속보트) 등 고속보트를 탑재·전개할 수 있도록 설계되어 있다.

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered the first of two multi-mission combat ships (MPCS/PPA) to the Indonesian Navy.

As disclosed, the delivery ceremony of the KRI BRAWIJAYA-320 vessel was held on July 2, 2025, at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Muggiano, La Spezia, Italy.

Originally built as the fifth and sixth units for the Italian Navy, the two MPCSs, KRI BRAWIJAYA-320 and KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321, are part of the contract signed by the company in 2024, valued at approximately €1.18 billion.

Reportedly, the units will be the largest combat ships in the Indonesian Navy and are expected to enhance the country’s maritime capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region.

Fincantieri held a renaming ceremony for the ships in early 2025.

To note, the MPCS/PPA is equipped with a combined diesel and gas turbine propulsion plant (CODAG) and an electric propulsion system, according to Fincantieri.

It is intended to perform a wide range of missions, including frontline combat operations, maritime patrol, rescue, and civil protection activities. Furthermore, the vessel is said to be designed to deploy high-speed boats, such as rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs), using either a lateral crane or a stern ramp.
