이발사가 어떤 아저씨의 얼굴을 베어버렸어요.

A barber cut a man’s face.

이발사는 인도 사람이었어요.

The barber was Indian.

영국 아저씨는 매우 화가났어요.

The English man got angry.

“이 멍청한 인도인같으니라고!”

“You stupid Indian!”

인도는 가난한 나라였어요.

India was a poor country.

영국은 부자 나라였어요.

England was a rich country.

영국 사람들은 인도 사람들을 괴롭혔어요.

The English bully the Indians.

간디는 인도에서 태어났어요.

Gandhi was born in India.

간디의 가족은 힌두교도들이었어요.

His family was Hindu.

간디의 아버지는 나랏일을 하셨어요.

His dad worked for the country.

간디의 어머니는 항상 간디를 위해 기도하셨어요.

His mom always prayed for Gandhi.

“간디는 공부 벌레래요!”

“Gandhi is a nurd.”

간디는 부끄러움이 많은 아이였어요.

Gandhi was shy.

간디는 책 읽기를 좋아했어요.

Gandhi liked to read.

그래서 아이들은 간디를 놀렸어요.

So kids teased him.

어느 날, 영국 남자가 인도 사람을 때리고 있었어요.

One day, an English man was beating an Indian.

아무도 그 영국 남자를 말리지 않았어요.

No one stopped to the English man.

모두들 무서웠거든요.

Everyone was scared.

간디는 속상했어요.

Gandhi was sad.

친구 한명이 간디에게 고기를 주었어요.

A friend gave meat to Gandhi.

“이걸 먹어. 영국 사람처럼 힘이 세질거야!”

“Eat this. And you will be strong like the English.”

힌두교도들은 고기를 안먹는데.

Hinduis don’t eat meat.

간디는 한 입을 베어 물었어요.

Gandhi took a bite.

간디는 기분이 안좋았어요.

He felt bad.

간디는 열심히 공부했어요.

Gandhi studied hard.

간디는 변호사가 되었어요.

He became a lawyer.

간디는 많은 인도 사람들을 도와주었어요.

He helped many Indians.

간디가 기차를 타고 남아프리카로 가는중이었어요.

Gandhi was going to South Africa by train.

갑자기 백인들이 소리쳤어요.

Suddenly, the white people scramed.

“나가! 이 인도사람아!”

“Get out! You Indian!”

백인들은 간디를 쫓아냈어요.

The white people kicked him out.

“가여운 인도 사람들을 위해 글을 써야겠어. 세상에 알릴거야.”

“I will write for poor Indians. I will tell the world.”

영국인들은 간디를 싫어했어요.

The English hated Gandhi.

하지만 간디는 평화를 유지했어요.

But Gandhi stayed in piece.

어느 날 밤, 거리가 소란스러웠어요.

One night, the street was noisy.

“영국 사람들아, 인도에서 나가라!”

“English, get out of India!”

오 이런, 영국 경찰서가 불에 타고있었어요.

Oh no, the English police station was burning.

영국 사람들은 화가났어요.

English people got angry.

영국 사람들은 공원으로 몰려갔어요.

They rush to a park.

인도 사람들은 공원에서 기도를 하고있었어요.

Indians were praying at the park.

영국 군인들은 인도 사람들을 총으로 쏘았어요.

English soldiers shot Indians.

간디는 너무 속상하고 화가났어요.

Gandhi was sad and angry.

“왜 사람들은 서로를 싫어하는거지?”

“Why do people hate each other?”

간디는 사람들을 위해 기도했어요.

He prayed for the people.

영국 사람들은 간디를 감옥에 가두었어요.

English people put Gandhi in jail.

인도 사람들은 간디를 걱정했어요.

Indians worried about him.

인도 사람들은 간디를 위해 기도했어요.

They prayed for Gandhi.

간디는 인도가 홀로서기를 바랬어요.

Gandhi wanted India to be free.

그래서 간디는 인도를 위해 싸웠어요.

So he fought for India.

간디는 정직과 사랑으로 싸웠어요.

He fought with honesty and love.

사람들이 소리쳤어요.

People shouted.

“위대한 영혼 마하트마 간디.”

“The great soul Mahatma Gandhi.”

마자요, 어려워요.
쉬운 단어임에도 암기하는게 햇갈리고 왠지 저는 어려워요.😄
영어성경 글귀에요.

내가 하는것을 내가 알지 못하고
내가 하고 싶은 것을 하지 못하고 왜려 미워하는 것을 한다.
만약 내가 원하지 않는 것을 내가 한다면,법이 선하다는 것을 알것이다.

간단한 번역 이에요.
성경 의미와는 연결이 다르고 어렵지만
전자와 후자글을 함께 읽어야 이해 되지싶어요.
