<P>Hello everyone,</P>
<P><BR>I know all of you, and I'm sure other people too, want to see pictures of Romi in our apartment. She is doing really well so far. She explored most of the apartment while we kept Romeo (dog) and Cora (cat) in our computer/living room. We then put her in a safe room that will be her room until she is comfortable enough to have supervised introductions to Cora and Romeo.</P>
<P><BR>She stopped meowing after being here about ten minutes (yay!) and while she hasn't eaten anything yet we are hoping she will soon indulge on the wet and dry food that is available to her.</P>
<P><BR>Please feel free to add either or both of us on Facebook. If you don't have Facebook then please don't worry... we have no problem sending pictures or links to pictures we have taken (photography is a hobby for both of us) and posted on Flickr. For now, please take a look at the pictures at the link below of Romi (we have decided to call her Tummy because we think it suits her and having a dog named Romeo and a cat named Romi would be too strange for us) and know that she is in a warm and happy home that will be patient and sensitive to her needs.</P>

<P>Last night, Julianne and I each took turns throughout the night sleeping in Romi's safe room with her. I took a first shift for 3 hours, and then Julianne for the next 3 hours . . . when I returned Romi was totally fine and just wanted someone to snuggle with and pet her. I think she is so used to not being alone ever in the shelter that that is her only major issue--so we made sure she was not alone at all last night.</P>
<P><BR>This morning Romi was fine being left alone when I took Romeo out for his morning walk around 6am. When I got back she was sitting on the window sill of her safe room looking outside, and not meowing at all.</P>
<P><BR>We decided to give Romi a new name: Tummy. We think it's cute and fits her perfectly, lol.</P>
<P><BR>Anyways, Cora (our other female 9 month old cat) is still very unsure about Tummy when she hear's Tummy in the safe room. Cora is all growling and hissing but her tail is not poofed, and her hair is perfectly flat on her back, and her ears are never back and down--she did the exact same thing with Kaylee (our other cat that passed away) when she first arrived too. We expect in a few days that Cora will get over her anxiety and territoriality and welcome Tummy into our family.</P>
<P><BR>Romeo (our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, male 10 years old) seems shy and nervous about Tummy's presence in our apartment. We let them see each other through a crack in the door of the safe room today and he did not perk up at all when he saw her but rather assumed a submissive posture. Tummy is not afraid of Romeo and while there is no negative reaction whatsoever on her part towards him she is also not showing much interest in him either . . . I think it's way too early to tell what kind of relationship they'll have though I'm hoping Tummy will befriend him. </P>
<P><BR>Right now Romi/Tummy is in our spare bedroom/safe room after eating some dried food and drinking water--and no meowing or crying this afternoon. I really wonder about what the original adopting family that had to return her did or didn't do. Oh well, we're happy that she's now a part of our family.</P>
