미국 원주민 보호구역 아리조나 투바시티에서 원주민들을 섬기는 이영호, 이선옥 선교사가 주님의 이름으로 평강을 기원하며 인사드립니다.

이사야 55:10-11

10 비와 눈이 하늘에서 내려서는 다시 그리로 가지 않고 토지를 적시어서 싹이 나게 하며 열매가 맺게 하여 파종하는 자에게 종자를 주며 먹는 자에게 양식을 줌과 같이 11 내 입에서 나가는 말도 헛되이 내게로 돌아오지 아니하고 나의 뜻을 이루며 나의 명하여 보낸 일에 형통하리라

Isaiah 55:10-11

10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

대단했던 7월이 지나가고 있습니다.

제가 이곳에 발을 디딘 2013년부터의 7월 평균 습도가 30-43% 정도인데 올해엔 최고 100%(14일 새벽), 평균 57%를 기록했습니다.

현재 예보에 의하면 이런 날씨가 한두 주 더 지속될 거 같습니다만, 살만합니다. ㅋ

습도가 높은 만큼 요 몇 년 동안 보지 못했던 비도 좀 왔습니다.

습하긴 하지만 이곳은 워낙 가뭄이 심한지라 비 소식은 그야말로 은혜의 소식이지요.

인근을 비롯하여 미국 서남부 여기저기에서 집중호우와 돌발홍수 소식이 사회관계망에서 많이 보도되기도 했지만 비가 비교적 적은 투바시티에 처박혀 살다보니 큰 피해를 실감하진 못하는 상황입니다.

지난 토요일에는 쿨러가 고장 나서 어쩌나 했지만 감사하게도 학교 측에서 다음날 타버린 모터를 교체해주었습니다. (냄새를 맡았지요.)

따지고 보면 여기뿐 아니라 어디나 다 이러저런 일들이 있겠지요.

우리는 그저 약과라고 생각합니다.

July in this year is certainly something.

The average July humidity is 30-43% since 2013 when we moved into Tuba City, highest 100% (morning of 14), and average 57% in this July.

It seems like that the similar weather might last a couple of weeks more according to forecast, we should be okay however.

There were some rain as much as dampness.

Dampness is bothersome but rain is a grace in this barren land.

Many reports of heavy rain and flash flood near and far in the south west of the USA.

But we don't feel much of the threat since there is much lesser rain in Tuba City where we usually stay.The motor in the cooler burnt off on the last Saturday, but, thankfully, the school changed the motor next day. (We smelled it.)

I assume, not only here, ours are certainly minor, that every place has its own story.(I cut my hair. Much cooler. lol https://cafe.daum.net/k331/P0hm/964)

사역부지, 거주부지, 그리고 중장기 동역자 확보 문제

현지사정상 건축부지는 거의 포기상태지만 방과후학교 사역에 관한 기대감과 의지는 여전합니다.

기도하는 가운데 “만사 주권자 하나님이 공간을 주신다면”에 대비해 평소 생각하던 방과후학교 교육자료들을 수집/정리하고 있습니다.

Business Site, Home Site, and Mid/Long-Term Field Missionary Needed

I almost gave up these land contracts but my expectation & intention of the After-School Program still remains strong.

While praying, we collect/arrange those curricula of the After-School for the moment of "If the Sovereign God gave us the space.”

목회 사역

5월 네 번의 주일 중에 세 번을 Bitter Springs Baptist Church에서 말씀을 나눴고 마지막 주일 한 번은 지난달처럼 Tuba City Discipleship Center에서 예배드렸습니다.

다 그런 건 아니지만 혹 현지 성도들의 가정이 빛의 사명을 감당하기보다 이러저런 불상사로 고통 받는 것을 보면 마음이 아픕니다.

받아야 할 고통이 있다면 감내해야겠지만 조속히 하나님이 그리스도를 통하여 의도하시는 공의, 건강과 행복, 그리고 화평의 복이 이곳에 조속히 임하시기를 기도할 뿐입니다.

PASTORAL MINISTRY

We worshiped and shared messages three times in Bitter Springs and one time in Tuba City Discipleship Center, as the last month, out of four weeks in June.

Not all families, but it hurts to see some of those families suffer from some bad things rather than being the light of the world.

We may have to endure some eventual hardship but we pray that God's blessings of justice, health, happiness, and peace be with them through Jesus Christ as soon as possible.

장마당사역: 무료 침치료 및 문서사역

7월에는 정기사역 다섯 번 중 다섯 번 출장하고 세 단기팀 지원으로 침치료 155건, 문서사역 30건, 지도자 지원사역 1건을 감당했습니다.

치료받으신 분들, 문서를 가져가신 분들에게 하나님의 은총이 함께 하시기를 바랄 뿐입니다.

MARKET MINISTRY with Free Acupuncture and Booklet Ministry

In July, we went out five times out of five weeks, including an acupuncture assistance for 3 short-term ministries, and served 166 acupuncture cases and 30 literature ministries, and 1 leader support.

We just pray that God bestow His grace for those who had treatments and pick up the biblical materials.

God heals so I needle.

단기선교 사역 Short-Term Ministry

캘리포니아에서 한 팀이 와서 Kaibeto와 Tonalea에서 성경학교와 지역봉사로 섬겼습니다.

무더운 날씨에 수고해주신 교회와 팀원들에게 감사드립니다.

A ministry team from California came and served Tonalea and Kaibeto communities with VBS and Culture Exchange.
