Today marks the 7th
anniversary of the death of Roh Moo-hyun,
the 9th (16th in terms
of government) President of the Republic
of Korea.
This song was
originally written by the the Grassroots activist[민주화 운동가] Baek Ki-wan and the novelist Hwang Sok-yong
(Lyrics) and the Grassroots activist, composer Kim Jong-ryul (Music) for the
posthumous[사후(死後)의] wedding of the late Yoon Sang-won and the late Park
Ki-soon.
Yoon and Park were the
victims of the Kwangju
Massacre, aka[as known as],
the Kwangju
Uprising or Kwangju
Democratization Movement.
This song instantly
became the anthem to South Korean Democratization Movement.
Later in 2012, An Chi-hwan
recorded the song to pay tribute to the late South Korean President Roh
Moo-hyun who faced an untimely end seven years ago today, leaving behind his
wife, two children, and his loyal followers and supporters.
