I agree with Sarah that public transportation should be free for everyone. For example, my friend who has received low income had difficulty spending a large portion of money on every day. When the public transportation in her city changed their fare free, she can save her money and reduce her stress about monetary problems. Likewise, free transit

I agree with Michael that turning them into public spaces is a much better choice. Before we discuss this issue, we should know how different the constructions between living place and workplace are. In most situations, workplace is much more inconvenient than places that was made for living. The living places are almost made by the ingredient that block the heat and cold from outside. Also, there is a strict criteria for constructing the living-places such as the least number of window, toilet, and so on. When we convert empty office buildings in city centers into affordable housing, it must provide low-quality housing for residents. Instead, turning them into public spaces is much more reasonable for everyone. Since public spaces may include the welfare infrastructure for low-income, it will be more helpful for everyone than turning them into housing spaces.

I agree with Rachel that universities should remain places for deep academic learning, critical thinking, and pure research, regardless of the job market. In job market, the demanded skills are changed according to technological changes. In past, it is important for workers to use computer with typing fast. But, currently, it is more essential for workers to use computer skills such as programing language, commands, and so on. Likewise, job training is temporarily helpful for people to work. Rather, the skills to think critically and solve complex problems are much worthier for workers to adapt in changing environments. For instance, my friend who learned philosophy in her college was able to get a job by using her major knowledge according to technological changes and company’s demand. Therefore, difficult theories that are seemed unnecessary in real life sometimes help our lives in different ways.

I agree with Jessica that the government must prioritize urgent needs like healthcare and education. The low-income families will encounter the poor environment more frequently than others. So, they have higher possibility of having difficulties in daily life. For example, my low-income friend fell off because of broken road. But he was not able to take medic care since the city had poor hospitals and he even didn’t have enough money to get their care. And, it is usual for every poor people to have difficulty in the city and it is even unfair to use tax money in art instead of helping urgent people. Therefore, using tax money for more urgent public needs is much more important.
