하월시아(Haworthia)는 알로에(Aloe) 과의 다육성 다년식물이며 잎의 투명한 창(window)을 통해 빛을 조절하며 광합성을 하는 특징이 있으며, 그 투명한 창이 바로 하월시아의 매력입니다.



하월시아는 대표적인 동형식물로 비교적 선선한 시기에 도 성장을 보이며, 밝은 그늘을 좋아하는 식물로 햇빛이 강한 시기에는 차광을 해주거나 통풍이 잘 되는 밝은 그늘로 옮겨주시는 것이 좋습니다.

선선해지는 가을부터는 성장, 개화, 탈피가 이루어지고 겨울철에는 2차 휴면기에 들어갑니다.


하월시아는 자구(子球)가 잘 생기는 편이고 떼어서 심어주면 금새 하월시아 부자가 될 수 있습니다.^^


자구(子球)를 분리해서 심어주는건 봄, 가을이 최적기고요, 자구(子球)를 잘 분리하여 그늘에서 3~7일 정도 말렸다가 심어주시는게 뿌리 단면의 감염을 막을 수 있습니다.
