HANDS ON LEARNING
Fish are the largest group of vertebrates found in fresh and salt water. In fact, over 25,000 species of fish comprise about 50% of the vertebrate population. In the lab session on dissecting fish, students observed the external and internal structures of a typical bony fish. They also had to compare the organs that both fish and humans have in common. Additionally the students had to find out the last foods that the fish ate by dissecting its stomach.
