Miscellaneous : KOR (O) pedamayi outside; pedaḍɨ to come out, start
Notes : The root is present in two forms - *pUr_- and *pIr_-; the i-tinged variant is universal only in Tulu (possibly - in Kodagu, where both phonemes would have merged between a labial and an alveolar anyway, so it's impossible to tell whether Kod. poraḍ- goes back to *pUr_- or *pIr_-). It is notable that all the i-tinged forms usually share the meaning 'other, other side' as contrasted with 'outside', so we may indeed deal here with two different roots that have unfortunately merged completely in Tulu (as well as in Telugu).
