민수기23장 말씀입니다.

1. 발람이 발락에게 이르되, 나를 위해 여기에 일곱 제단을 쌓고 여기에 소 일곱 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리를 예비하소서,

    하매

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

2. 발락이 발람의 말대로 예비한 뒤에 발락과 발람이 각 제단 위에 수소 한 마리와 숫양 한 마리를 드리니라.

And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on [every] altar a bullock and a ram.

3. 발람이 발락에게 이르되, 당신의 번제 헌물 옆에 서 있으소서. 그러면 내가 가리니 혹시 {주}께서 오사 나를

    만나시리이다. 그분께서 내게 보여 주시는 것은 무엇이든지 내가 당신에게 고하리이다, 하고 그가 높은 곳에 오르니

And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place. 

4. [하나님]께서 발람을 만나시니라. 발람이 그분께 아뢰되, 내가 일곱 제단을 예비하고 각 제단 위에 수소 한 마리와

    숫양 한 마리를 드렸나이다, 하니

And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon [every] altar a bullock and a ram.

5. {주}께서 발람의 입에 말씀을 주시고 이르시되, 너는 발락에게 돌아가서 이같이 말할지니라, 하시니라.

And the LORD put a word in Balaams mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.

6. 그가 발락에게 돌아간즉, 보라, 발락과 모압의 모든 통치자가 그의 태우는 희생물 옆에 서 있더라.

And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.

7. 발람이 비유를 지어 이르되, 모압 왕 발락이 나를 아람으로부터 동쪽 산지에서 데려와 말하기를, 와서 나를 위해

    야곱을 저주하라. 와서 이스라엘을 꾸짖으라, 하는도다.

And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, [saying], Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.

8. [하나님]께서 저주하지 아니하신 자를 내가 어찌 저주하며 {주}께서 꾸짖지 아니하신 자를 내가 어찌 꾸짖으리요?

How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, [whom] the LORD hath not defied?

9. 내가 바위들 꼭대기에서 그를 보며 작은 산들에서 그를 바라보나니, 보라, 이 백성은 홀로 거할 것이요,

    민족들 가운데 하나로 여겨지지 아니하리로다.

For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

10. 누가 능히 야곱의 티끌을 셀 수 있으며 이스라엘의 사분의 일을 셀 수 있으리요? 나는 의로운 자의 죽음으로 죽기를

      원하며 나의 마지막이 그의 마지막과 같기를 바라는도다! 하매

Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth [part] of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! 

11. 발락이 발람에게 이르되, 그대가 어찌하여 내게 이같이 행하였느냐? 내 원수들을 저주하라고 내가 그대를

      데려왔거늘, 보라, 그대가 그들에게 온전히 축복하였도다, 하니

And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed [them] altogether.

12. 그가 응답하여 이르되, 내가 조심하여 {주}께서 내 입에 주신 것을 반드시 말하여야 하지 아니하겠나이까? 하매

And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?

13. 발락이 그에게 이르되, 원하건대 나와 함께 그들을 볼 수 있는 다른 곳으로 가자. 그대가 그들을 다 보지 못하고

      그들의 맨 끝 부분만 보리니 거기서 나를 위해 그들을 저주하라, 하더라.

And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.

14. 발락이 그를 소빔의 들로, 비스가의 꼭대기로 데려가서 일곱 제단을 쌓고 각 제단 위에 수소 한 마리와 숫양 한

      마리를 드리니

And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on [every] altar. 

15. 발람이 발락에게 이르되, 내가 저기에서 {주}를 만날 동안에 여기에서 당신의 번제 헌물 옆에 서 있으소서, 하니라.

And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet [the LORD] yonder.

16. {주}께서 발람을 만나 그의 입에 말씀을 주시며 이르시되, 발락에게 돌아가서 이같이 말할지니라.

And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.

17. 발람이 그에게로 오니, 보라, 그가 자기의 번제 헌물 옆에 섰고 모압의 통치자들이 그와 함께 있더라.

      발락이 그에게 이르되, {주}께서 무슨 말씀을 하시더냐? 하니

And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?

18. 발람이 비유를 지어 이르되, 발락이여, 일어나 들을지어다. 너 십볼의 아들이여, 내 말에 귀를 기울일지어다.

And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:

19. [하나님]은 사람이 아니시니 거짓말하지 아니하시고 사람의 아들이 아니시니 뜻을 돌이키지 아니하시는도다.

      그분께서 말씀하셨은즉 그것을 행하지 아니하시리요? 그분께서 이르셨은즉 그것을 실행하지 아니하시리요?

God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

20. 보라, 축복하라는 명령을 내가 받았고 그분께서 복을 주셨은즉 내가 그것을 돌이킬 수 없도다.

Behold, I have received [commandment] to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

21. 그분께서는 야곱의 불법을 보지 아니하시며 이스라엘 안에서 잘못을 보지 아니하셨도다. {주} 그의 [하나님]께서

      그와 함께 계시니 왕의 외치는 소리가 그들 가운데 있도다.

He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God [is] with him, and the shout of a king [is] among them.

22. [하나님]께서 그들을 이집트에서 데리고 나왔으니 그의 힘이 유니콘의 힘과 같도다.

God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

23. 참으로 야곱을 대적할 요술이 없고 이스라엘을 대적할 점술이 없도다. 이때에 야곱과 이스라엘에 관하여 말할진대,

      [하나님]께서 무슨 일을 이루셨느냐! 하리로다.

Surely [there is] no enchantment against Jacob, neither [is there] any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! 

24. 보라, 이 백성이 큰 사자같이 일어나고 젊은 사자같이 스스로 일어서서 탈취한 것을 먹으며 죽인 것의 피를 마시기

      전에는 눕지 아니하리로다, 하니라.

Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat [of] the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

25. 발락이 발람에게 이르되, 그들을 저주하지도 말고 축복하지도 말라, 하였으나

And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

26. 발람이 발락에게 응답하여 이르되, 내가 왕에게 고하여 말하기를, {주}께서 말씀하시는 모든 것을 내가 반드시

      행하여야 하리라 하지 아니하더이까? 하니라.

But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?

27. 발락이 발람에게 또 이르되, 오라, 원하건대 내가 너를 다른 곳으로 데려가리니 네가 거기서 나를 위해 그들을

      저주하는 것을 혹시 [하나님]께서 기뻐하시리라, 하고

And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.

28. 발락이 여시몬을 내려다보는 브올의 꼭대기로 발람을 데려가매

And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.

29. 발람이 발락에게 이르되, 나를 위해 여기에 일곱 제단을 쌓고 여기에 수소 일곱 마리와 숫양 일곱 마리를

      예비하소서, 하거늘

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

30. 발락이 발람의 말대로 행하여 각 제단 위에 수소 한 마리와 숫양 한 마리를 드리니라.

And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on [every] altar.
