재주와 용모가 뛰어난 사람이 성공하지 못하는 이유는 작은 성취에 만족하여 자랑과 놀 생각부터 먼저 하고, 진정으로 혼신을 다해 공부하지 않기 때문이다


When a disciple asked why people gifted with great talent and good looks often fail to succeed, he replied:

“Though they know how to drink and amuse themselves, content with small achievements, they lack the will to devote themselves wholeheartedly to their work. How, then, could there be any success?”
