서해안의 새로운 대동맥, 서부내륙고속도로 평택-부여 구간 개통!

12월 10일 개통, 경기 서남부에서 충남 서남부까지 60분대로 연결

12월 10일 오후 12시, 서부내륙고속도로 평택-부여 구간이 드디어 개통되었습니다. 이로써 수도권 서남부와 충청권 서남부를 잇는 새로운 교통망이 구축되었으며, 지역 간 이동 시간 단축과 함께 지역 경제 활성화에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다.

총연장 94km, 왕복 4차로: 민자고속도로 중 가장 긴 노선인 서부내륙고속도로는 총 137.4km이며, 이번에 개통된 평택-부여 구간은 총사업비 약 3조 2,700억원이 투입된 1단계 구간입니다.수도권-충청권 이동 시간 단축: 평택시 포승읍부터 부여군 규암면까지 이동 거리가 약 32km 감소하고, 주행 시간은 약 26분 단축되어 수도권 서남부에서 충청권 서남부까지 60분대로 이동이 가능해졌습니다.서해안고속도로 교통량 분산: 서해대교, 천안·안성 분기점 등 상습 정체 구간의 교통량이 분산되어 교통 흐름이 원활해질 것으로 예상됩니다.산업 거점 연결 강화: 평택항, 아산국가산단, 홍성국가산단 등 주요 산업 거점 간 접근성이 향상되어 지역 경제 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다.

기대 효과지역 간 교류 활성화: 수도권과 충청권 간 이동 시간 단축으로 지역 간 교류가 활성화될 것으로 예상됩니다.물류 효율성 증대: 평택항을 중심으로 한 물류 운송 효율성이 높아져 지역 경제 성장에 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다.투자 유치 촉진: 아산국가산단, 홍성국가산단 등 산업 단지의 접근성이 개선되어 투자 유치가 활성화될 것으로 예상됩니다.

정부의 입장

국토교통부 박상우 장관은 "서부내륙고속도로 개통으로 충청권과 수도권이 더욱 가까워지고, 서해안의 여러 산업 거점이 연계되는 등 지역의 활력이 더욱 높아질 것으로 기대된다"며, 앞으로도 전국 2시간 생활권 조성을 목표로 교통망 구축에 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

향후 계획

부여-익산 구간은 2단계 사업으로 오는 2029년 착공해 2034년 개통될 예정입니다. 서부내륙고속도로 전체 구간이 개통되면 서해안 지역의 교통 인프라가 더욱 강화되어 지역 균형 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대됩니다.

Opened on Dec. 10, connecting southwestern Gyeonggi to southwestern Chungcheongnam-do for 60 minutes

At 12 p.m. on Dec. 10, the Pyeongtaek-Buyeo section of the Seobu Inland Expressway was finally opened. With this, a new transportation network was established linking the southwestern part of the Seoul metropolitan area with the southwestern part of the Chungcheong area, and it is expected to greatly contribute to the revitalization of the local economy as well as the reduction of travel time between regions.

94 km in total length, 4 round-trip lanes: The western inland highway, the longest route among the private expressways, is 137.4 km in total, and the newly opened Pyeongtaek- Buyeo section is the first phase with a total project cost of about 3.27 trillion won.
Metropolitan Area-Chungcheong Area Travel Time Shortened: Travel distance from Poseung-eup in Pyeongtaek City to Gyuam-myeon in Buyeo-gun City decreased by about 32 kilometers, and travel time was shortened by about 26 minutes, enabling travel of 60 minutes from the southwestern part of the metropolitan area to the southwestern part of Chungcheong Province. Seohaean Expressway Traffic Distribution: Traffic flow is expected to be smooth due to the distribution of traffic in habitually congested sections such as the West Sea Bridge, Cheonan-Anseong Junction, etc. Strengthen connection of industrial bases: It is expected to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy by improving accessibility between major industrial bases such as Pyeongtaek Port, Asan National Industrial Complex, and Hongseong National Industrial Complex.

Expected Effects Inter-regional exchanges are expected to be activated by shortening the travel time between the metropolitan area and the Chungcheong area. Increased logistics efficiency: Increasing logistics efficiency around Pyeongtaek Port is expected to contribute to regional economic growth by increasing logistics transport efficiency. Promoting investment attraction: It is expected that the accessibility of industrial complexes such as Asan National Industrial Complex and Hongseong National Industrial Complex will be improved to boost investment attraction.



Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Sang-woo said, "The opening of the Western Inland Expressway is expected to bring the Chungcheong area and the metropolitan area closer together and link various industrial bases on the west coast. We will continue to do our best to build a transportation network with the aim of creating a two-hour living area nationwide."



The Buyeo-Iksan section is a second-phase project that will begin construction in 2029 and will open in 2034. The opening of the entire section of the West Inland Expressway is expected to further strengthen transportation infrastructure in the West Coast region, contributing to balanced regional development.
