Bible Reading - Proverbs 19:1~10

19:1 Better a poor man whose walk is blameless(흠없이) than a fool whose lips are perverse(사악한).

흠 없이 걷는 가난한 사람이 입술이 사악한 어리석은 사람보다 낫다.

19:2 It is not good to have zeal(열정, 열의) without knowledge, 

지식이 없이 열의를 가지는 것도 좋지 않고, 
nor to be hasty(성급한) and miss the way. 

성급하게 행동하여 길을 잃는 것도 좋지 않다.

19:3 A man's own folly(어리석음) ruins his life, 

사람은 자신의 어리석음으로 인해 자신의 인생을 망치지만, 
yet his heart rages(격노하다) against the LORD. 그의 마음은 여호와를 원망한다.

19:4 Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man's friend deserts(버리다) him.

부유함은 많은 친구를 데려오지만, 가난한 사람의 친구는 그를 버린다.

19:5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free.

거짓 증인은 벌을 받지 아니할 수 없고 거짓말을 퍼뜨리는 자도 자유롭지 못하리라.

19:6 Many curry(베풀다) favor with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of a man who gives gifts.

통치자에게 호의를 베푸는 사람이 많고, 선물을 주는 사람은 누구나 친구이다.

19:7 A poor man is shunned(외면당하다) by all his relatives--

가난한 사람은 모든 친척들로부터 외면당한다

how much more do his friends avoid(피하다) him! 하물며 친구들은 그를 얼마나 더 피하겠는가!

Though he pursues(쫓아가다) them with pleading, 비록 그가 간청하여 그들을 쫓아가지만 

they are nowhere(어디에도 없는) to be found. 그들은 어디에서도 발견되지 않는다.

19:8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; 지혜를 얻는 자는 자신의 영혼을 사랑하고

he who cherishes(소중히 여기다) understanding prospers. 명철을 소중히 여기는 자는 번영한다.

19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, 거짓 증인은 처벌받지 않을 수 없고 

and he who pours out lies will perish.(망하다) 거짓을 쏟아내는 자는 멸망할 것이다.

19:10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury-- 어리석은 자가 사치하게 사는 것이 합당치 않다.

how much worse for a slave to rule over(다스리다) princes!

하물며 노예가 왕자를 다스리는 것은 얼마나 더 나쁜 일이겠는가!
