Jimbabwe and Namibia have announced plans to slaghter hunreds of wild elephants and other animals to fedd hunger stricken resident amid severe draught conditiolns in southern african countries.
Jimbabwe says it will allow the killing of 2oo elephants so that their meat can be distributed amongst those in need
In Namibia, the kiling of more than 700 wild anmals is alredy underway.
At least one hundred elephants have died due to draught. officials said they anticipate that more anmals could die of thirst and hunger.as the areas enters the hottest period of the year.
