Bosh Will Play In Pain

여러 가지 부상을 당하고 있는 크리스 바쉬.. 하지만 계속 플레이하는군요..

정신적으로 강하게 무장한 선수임에는 틀림없는 것 같습니다..

Despite being injured in various ways all season, first with a sore left heel, and now a sore knee, Chris Bosh will continue to play.

"I don't know what it is," he said yesterday, following the team's morning shootaround at Philips Arena. "But there's no swelling, that's the good thing about it."

Only a risk of further damage to the knee will keep Bosh on the sidelines.

"It's not hindering anything, so that's the good thing. It's just sore," he said. "But I ain't no little girl. I'm a player.

"We're trying to make the playoffs. Ain't got to time to sit out now." [READ]

For the first time this season, Heat coach Pat Riley publicly acknowledged that his search for a boost to get his struggling team going might extend beyond the team's roster.

Injuries and inconsistent play have hampered the Heat through a 4-8 start. Along the way, Riley has changed his starting lineup, his strategy and, he said, his patience level with the team's sporadic play.

Next could be a roster change, possibly at point guard, where Jason Williams and Gary Payton are battling knee injuries and Dwyane Wade has, at times, been overextended while logging extensive minutes at both guard positions.

Asked before Friday's game if it might be time to consider a roster move to land a veteran point guard, Riley said: ``Probably. Yeah. I think, probably. You've gotta do your due diligence. And plus, I'm not going to make any kind of lateral move.

``It's gotta be somebody who can play. I can play Dwyane there. I'd rather have a 50 percent Dwyane as a point guard than somebody who can't play.''

Riley already has gotten a close-up look at two potential veteran point guards the Heat might consider pursuing.

Seattle Sonics reserve Earl Watson has been unhappy with his inconsistent playing time.

Memphis' Damon Stoudamire and Atlanta's Tyronn Lue might also be attractive options because both are playing on short, relatively inexpensive contracts and fit Riley's win-now, rebuild-later philosophy.

According to Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy, Kaman rolled his ankle when he stepped on a teammate's foot in a full-court scrimmage. [READ]

The 76ers still don't know when Chris Webber will return to their lineup, but it definitely won't be tonight when the Sixers play in Cleveland, the Courier Post Online is reporting.

Webber has missed the previous four games with lower back stiffness and soreness.

There's a chance that Steven Hunter could return tonight. Hunter has also missed four games with a right knee sprain. Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said Hunter tried to practice on the knee during the day, but still felt some discomfort.

"Chris still has not tried (to practice), so his back is very sore," Cheeks said. "I can't say how long he'll be out. It's certainly safe to say Chris will not play (today). I'm not sure about Steven." [READ]

Luke Walton is leading the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage so far this season. He eliminated the knuckle-ball effect that his shot had in the past and has made 11 of 17 (64.7%) from beyond the arc, a percentage that tops all players with 15 or more attempts.

"He's kind of found a stroke that he's relying on now that looks much better," Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said. "That's what we're looking for, that he consistently holds his own out there as a shooter. After the carnage, which featured the most points allowed in Skiles' 242 games as Bulls coach, Skiles downplayed questions on the Bulls' $60 million man.

"I don't feel comfortable putting the emphasis on a guy that's played for us for 12 games, no matter who that guy is," Skiles said. "Let's put the focus on the guys who have been here that should be carrying the team. That's their responsibility. And that is to play the way we play and get the other guys to play that way."

It was to inform the Mavs that they needed to limit their players from showing so much exuberance on the sidelines during the game. The league is cracking down on players standing in front of the bench, which of course blocks the views of customers in the not-inexpensive seats near the bench.

"I think it shows the great cohesiveness we have on our team," owner Mark Cuban said. "Our guys are always pulling for each other and I think fans can appreciate that. The league called, and we're fine with that." [READ]
