성경말씀: 예레미야 51장

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 51

“내 종 바벨론의 왕 느부갓네살을 불러다가 사방 모든 나라를 쳐서 진멸하여 놀램과 비웃음거리가 되게 하며 땅으로 영원한 폐허가 되게 할 것이라(25:9)” 하셨던 하나님께서, “내가 바벨론을 치고 대적하는 자를 치되, 타국인을 바벨론에 보내어 땅을 비게 하리니 재난의 날에 에워싸고 치리로다. 활을 당기는 자 갑옷을 입고 일어선 자를 향하여 활을 당겨 쏘라 장정들을 불쌍히 여기지 말며 군대를 전멸시켜라. 무리가 갈대아 땅에서 죽임을 당하여 엎드러질 것이요 거리에 있으리라. 이스라엘과 유다가 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이를 거역하므로 죄과가 땅에 가득하나 하나님 만군의 여호와에게 버림 받은 홀아비는 아니니라. 바벨론 가운데서 도망하여 생명을 구원하고 그의 죄악으로 끊어짐을 보지 말지어다(51:1-6)” 하신 것은, 하나님의 뜻에 순종하지 않고 거역하고 대적하는 죄 때문입니다.

Anyone, who does not obey God’s will but acts according to his own wills, he will surely be judged to destroyed, no matter he had been received how great and much God’s grace, love and power, as for God blessed to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, as “I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin (25:9)” Afterward, God proclaimed his judgement to the king Babylon, as “I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai. I will send foreigners to Babylon to winnow her and to devastate her land; they will oppose her on every side in the day of her disaster. Let not the archer string his bow, nor let him put on his armor. Do not spare her young men; completely destroy her army. They will fall down slain in Babylon, fatally wounded in her streets. For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the Lord Almighty, though their land is full of guilt before the Holy One of Israel. Flee from Babylon. Run for your lives. Do not be destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the Lord’s vengeance; he will pay her what she deserves (51:1-6)”

왜냐하면, “바벨론은 취하게 하는 금잔이라 뭇 민족이 그 포도주를 마심으로 미쳤도다. 바벨론이 갑자기 파멸되니 상처를 위하여 유향을 구하라. 바벨론을 치료하여도 낫지 아니한즉 버리고 고향으로 돌아가자 화가 하늘에 미쳤고 궁창에 달하였음이로다. 여호와께서 공의를 드러내셨으니 시온에서 하나님 여호와의 일을 선포하자. 화살을 갈며 둥근 방패를 준비하라 여호와께서 메대 왕들을 부추기사 바벨론을 멸하시나니 그의 성전을 위하여 보복하시는 것이라. 바벨론을 향하여 깃발을 세우고 튼튼히 지키며 파수꾼을 세우며 복병을 매복시켜 방비하라. 많은 물 가에 살면서 재물이 많은 자여 네 재물의 한계 끝이 왔도다(51:7-13)” 하였듯, 육신의 생각을 따르면 욕망의 종이 되어 남을 죽이고 탈취하는 죄에 빠지며 멸망의 심판을 부르기 때문입니다.

Because, if who follow own fleshly thoughts, he will become a salve of desires to killing and plundering to others and invite the judgement of destruction of God, as “Babylon was a gold cup in the Lord’s hand; she made the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore, they have now gone mad. Babylon will suddenly fall and be broken. Wail over her. Get balm for her pain; perhaps she can be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she cannot be healed; let us leave her and each go to his own land, for her judgement reaches to the skies, it rises as high as the clouds. The Lord has vindicated us; come, let us tell in Zion what the Lord our God has done. Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields. The Lord has stirred up the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is to destroy Babylon. The Lord will take vengeance, vengeance for his temple. Lift up a banner against the walls of Babylon. Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen, prepare an ambush. The Lord will carry out his purpose, his decree against the people of Babylon. You who live by many waters and are rich in treasures, your end has come, the time for you to be cut off (51:7-13)”

그러면서도 “여호와께서 능력으로 땅을 지으셨고 지혜로 세계를 세우셨고 명철로 하늘들을 펴셨으며, 그가 목소리를 내신즉 하늘에 많은 물이 생기나니 땅 끝에서 구름이 오르게 하시며 비를 위하여 번개를 치게 하시며 바람을 내시거늘, 사람마다 어리석고 무식하도다 금장색마다 자기가 만든 신상으로 말미암아 수치를 당하나니 우상은 거짓이요 생기가 없음이라. 헛된 것이요 조롱거리이니 멸망할 것이나, 야곱의 분깃은 만물을 지으신 만군의 여호와시니라. 너는 나의 철퇴 무기라 나라들을 분쇄하며 국가들을 멸하며, 말과 기마병을 병거를 부수며, 남자와 여자, 노년과 유년, 청년과 처녀, 목자와 양 떼, 농부와 멍엣소, 도백과 태수들을 분쇄하리로다. 그들이 시온에서 악을 행한 대로 바벨론과 갈대아 주민에게 갚으리라(51:15-24)” 하듯, 온 세상 만물을 창조하고 다스리는 하나님을 찾지 않고 우상을 만들어 섬기는 죄에 빠집니다.

However, he will surely fallen to sin of making and worshiping idols without seeking his Maker and Savior of God, as “He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. Every man is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud; they have no breath in them. They are worthless, the objects of mockery; when their judgement comes, they will perish. He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker of all things, including the tribe of his inheritance-the Lord Almighty is his name. You are my war club, my weapon for battle-with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms, with you I shatter horse and rider, with you I shatter chariot and driver, with you I shatter man and woman, with you I shatter old man and youth, with you I shatter young man and maiden, with you I shatter shepherd and flock, with you I shatter farmer and oxen, with you I shatter governors and officials. Before your eyes I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the wrong they have done in Zion (51:15-24)”

그리고, “온 세계를 멸하는 산아 너를 바위에서 굴리고 불탄 산이 되게 할 것이니, 모퉁잇돌이나 기촛돌을 취하지 아니할 것이요 영원히 황무지가 될 것이니라. 깃발을 세우며 나팔을 불어서 아라랏과 민니와 아스그나스 나라를 불러 사무관을 세우고 치되 메뚜기 같이 말들을 몰아오게 하라. 메대 왕들과 도백들과 태수와 모든 땅을 준비시켜 그를 치게 하라. 땅이 진동하며 소용돌이치나니 여호와께서 바벨론을 쳐서 황폐하여 주민이 없게 할 계획이 섰음이라. 바벨론의 용사는 기력이 쇠하여 여인 같이 되며 거처는 불타고 문빗장은 부러졌으며, 보발꾼, 전령은 달려가 바벨론의 왕에게 성읍 사방이 함락되었으며, 나루는 빼앗겼으며 갈대밭이 불탔으며 군사들이 겁에 질렸다 하리라(51:25-32)” 온 세상을 정복하고 다스리며 멸망으로 이끄는 죄에 빠지고 멸망의 심판을 받아도 깨닫지 못합니다.

And, he should not be realized his sins of conquering, ruling and destroying so many others until he is being judged to be destroyed by God, as “O destroying mountain, you who destroy the whole earth, I will stretch out my hand against you, roll you off the cliffs, and make you a burned-out mountain. No rock will be taken from you for a cornerstone, nor any stone for a foundation, for you will be desolate forever, ‘Lift up will be taken from you for a cornerstone, nor any stone for a foundation, for you will be desolate forever, ‘Lift up a banner in the land. Blow the trumpet among the nations. Prepare the nations for battle against her; summon against her these kingdoms: Ararat, Minni and Ashkenaz. Appoint a commander against her; send up horses like a swarm of locusts. Prepare the nations for battle against her-the kings of the Medes, their governors and all their officials, and all the countries they rule. The land trembles and writhes, for the Lord’s purposes against Babylon stand-to lay waste the land of Babylon so that no one will live there. Babylon’s warriors have stopped fighting; they remain in their strongholds. Their strength is exhausted; they have become like women. Her dwellings are set on fire; the bars of her gates are broken. One courier follows another and messenger follows messenger to announce to the king of Babylon that his entire city is captured, the river crossing seized, the marshes set on fire, and the soldiers terrified (51:25-32)”

왜냐하면, “바벨론은 타작 마당과 같은지라 추수 때가 이르리라. 느부갓네살 왕이 나를 먹으며 멸하며 빈 그릇이 되게 하며 큰 뱀 같이 삼키며 배를 채우고 쫓아내었으니, 내가 받은 폭행과 학대가 바벨론에 돌아가기를 원한다고 시온 주민이 말할 것이요 피 흘린 죄가 갈대아 주민에게로 돌아가기를 원한다고 예루살렘이 말하리라. 내가 네 송사를 듣고 보복하여 그의 바다를 샘을 말리리니, 바벨론이 돌무더기가 되어서 승냥이의 거처와 혐오의 대상과 탄식거리가 되고 주민이 없으리라. 사자 같이 소리지르며 으르렁거리며, 열정이 일어날 때에 연회를 베풀고 취하여 기뻐하다가 영원히 잠들어 깨지 못하게 하리라(51:33-39)” 하셨듯, 하나님께서 맡긴 사명을 올바로 알지 못하고, 욕망에 속아 정복하고 탈취하며 멸망시키는 죄에 빠지기 때문입니다.

Because, he do not properly understand the mission and task that God has given and entrusted to him with power, instead, fallen to sins of conquering, plundering and destroying according to his desires only, as “The Daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time it is trampled; the time to harvest her will soon come. Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has devoured us, he has thrown us into confusion, he has made us an empty jar. Like a serpent he has swallowed us and filled his stomach with our delicacies, and then has spewed us out. May the violence done to our flesh be upon Babylon, say the inhabitants of Zion. May our blood be on those who live in Babylonia, says Jerusalem. Therefore, I will defend your cause and avenge you; I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry. Babylon will be a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, and object of horror and scorn, a place where no one lives. Her people all roar like young lions, they growl like lion cubs. But while they are aroused, I will set out a feast for them and make them drunk, so that they shout with laughter-then sleep forever and not awake (51:33-39)”

더구나, “슬프다 세삭이 함락되었도다 세상의 칭찬받는 성읍이 빼앗겼도다 바벨론이 황폐하였도다. 바다가 바벨론에 넘침이여 뒤덮었도다. 성읍들은 황폐하여 사막과 사람이 살지 않는 땅이 되었으니 지나가는 사람이 없도다. 벨을 벌하고 삼킨 것을 끌어내리니 민족들이 다시는 그에게로 몰려가지 아니하겠고 바벨론 성벽은 무너졌도다. 나의 백성아 그 중에서 나와 여호와의 진노를 피하라. 마음을 나약하게 말며 들리는 소문으로 두려워하지 말라 그 땅에는 강포함이 있어 다스리는 자가 서로 치리라. 내가 바벨론의 우상들을 벌할 것이라 온 땅이 치욕을 당하겠고 죽임 당할 자가 엎드러질 것이며, 하늘과 땅과 모든 것이 기뻐 노래하리니 파멸시키는 자가 북쪽에서 옴이라. 바벨론이 이스라엘을 죽여 엎드러뜨림 같이 온 세상이 바벨론에서 죽임을 당하리라(51:41-49)” 하셨듯, 하나님께서 주신 권세로 하나님을 대적하는 우상을 만들어 섬기는 죄악으로 이끌어 가면서 깨닫지 못하기 때문에 “좁은 문으로 들어가라 멸망으로 인도하는 문은 크고 그 길이 넓어 그리로 들어가는 자가 많다(마7:13)-한 사람을 얻기 위하여 바다와 육지를 두루 다니다가 생기면 배나 더 지옥 자식이 되게 한다 (마23:15)” 경고하셨습니다.

Moreover, he should not be realized that he is leading people to sin of making and worshiping idols with the authority given by God, as “How Sheshach will be captured, the boast of the whole earth seized. What a horror Babylon will be among the nations. The sea will rise over Babylon; its roaring waves will cover her. Her towns will be desolate, a dry and desert land, a land where no one lives, through which no man travels. I will punish Bel in Babylon and make him spew out what he has swallowed. The nations will no longer stream to him. And the wall of Babylon will fall. Come out of her, my people. Run for your lives. Run from the fierce anger of the Lord. Do not lose heart or be afraid when rumors are heard in the land; one rumor comes this year, another the next, rumors of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler. For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her. Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon, for out of the north destroyers will attack her, Babylon must fall because of Israel’s slain, just as the slain in all the earth have fallen because of Babylon (51:41-49)” “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it – Travel 0ver land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are (Matthew7:13, 23:15)”

그러나, “칼을 피한 자들이여 멈추지 말고 걸어가라 여호와를 생각하며 예루살렘을 마음에 두라. 외국인이 여호와의 거룩한 성전에 들어가므로 책망을 들으며 수치를 당하여 모욕이 얼굴을 덮었느니라. 내가 우상들을 벌할 것이라 부상자들이 한숨을 지으리라. 바벨론이 하늘까지 솟아오른다 하자 높은 곳에 피난처를 요새로 삼더라도 멸망시킬 자가 임하리라. 여호와께서 바벨론을 황폐하게 하사 큰 소리를 끊으심이로다 원수는 많은 물 같이 파도가 사나우며 요란한 소리를 내는도다. 멸망시키는 자가 바벨론에 이르렀음이라 용사들이 사로잡히고 활이 꺾이도다. 내가 고관들과 지혜 있는 자들과 도백들과 태수들과 용사들을 취하게 하리니 영원히 잠들어 깨어나지 못하리라. 바벨론의 성벽은 훼파되고 높은 문들은 불에 탈 것이며 백성들의 수고는 헛될 것이요 불탈 것인즉 쇠잔하리라(51:50-58)” 하셨듯, 남의 죄를 징계하고 심판한 자들은 멸망시키시고, 징계와 심판으로 고난을 받으며 하나님을 사모하는 자들은 멸망에서 구원하십니다.

However, God surely be destroyed anyone who condemn and judge others, but God surely be saved from destruction those who seeks God even he suffered in disciplines and judgement, as “You who have escaped the sword, leave and do not linger. Remember the Lord in a distant land, and think on Jerusalem. We are disgraced, for we have been insulted and shame covers our faces, because foreigners have entered the holy places of the Lord’s house. But days are coming, when I will punish her idols, and throughout her land the wounded will groan. Even if Babylon reaches the sky and fortifies her lofty stronghold, I will send destroyers against her, ‘The sound of a cry comes from Babylon, the sound of great destruction from the land of the Babylonians. The Lord will destroy Babylon; he will silence her noisy din. Waves of enemies will rage like great waters; the roar of their voices will resound. A destroyer will come against Babylon; her warriors will be captured, and their bows will be broken. For the Lord is a Good of retribution; he will repay in full. I will make her officials and wise men drunk, her governors, officers and warriors as well; they will sleep forever and not awake. Babylon’s thick wall will be leveled and her high gates set on fire; the peoples exhaust themselves for nothing, the nations’ labor is only fuel for the flames (51:50-58)”

그래서, “예레미야가 바벨론에 닥칠 재난 말씀을 책에 기록하고, 스라야에게 바벨론에 이르거든 이 모든 말씀을 읽고, 여호와여 주께서 이 곳에 대하여 말씀하시기를 이 땅을 멸하여 사람이나 짐승이 살지 못하게 하고 영원한 폐허가 되리라 하셨나이다 하라. 책 읽기를 다한 후에 돌을 매어 유브라데 강 속에 던지며, 바벨론이 재난에 몰락하여 다시 일어서지 못하리니 피폐하리라 하라(51:60-64)” 하였으므로, 죄악에 대한 징계나 심판이나 자신의 삶과 죽음까지 모두 하나님께 맡기고, 하나님의 은혜와 사랑을 간구하여 회복시키고 인도하며 이루는 임마누엘 하나님 은혜와 사랑을 받아 그리스도 복음의 진리를 전하는 생명의 열매를 맺고 구원 얻기를 예수 이름으로 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

That is why, God warns us today through the words of the prophet Jeremiah, as “Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon-all that had been recorded concerning Babylon. He said to Seraiah, ‘When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud. Then say, ‘O Lord, you have said you will destroy this place, so that neither man nor animal will live in it; it will be desolate forever. When you finish reading this scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates. The say, ‘So will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring upon her. And her people will fall (51:60-64)” Therefore, all of you, entrust all of your punishment and judgement of your sins and even your won life and death to God, and ask for God’s grace and love of Emmanuel God who forgives, heals, guides, uses and fulfills you according to his eternal purposes and bear fruit of life with your spreads of gospel of Christ. Then you will surely be obtained eternal salvation in Christ Jesus. I pray and earnestly bless you in the name of Jesus Christ all. Amen.
