시편 126:5-6

5 눈물로 씨를 뿌리는 자는 기쁨으로 거두리로다. 6 울며 씨를 뿌리러 나가는 자는 정녕 기쁨으로 그 곡식 단을 가지고 돌아오리로다."

Palm 126:5-6

5 Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. 6 Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

여름 더위는 훌쩍 물러났지만 여기저기 폭우와 침수의 소식은 끊이지 않고 전쟁의 소식은 잦아들 줄 모릅니다.

그래도 결실의 계절이니만치 스스로 열매 맺게 하시는 하나님의 은혜가 우리의 삶에 충만하시기를 바랍니다. (마가복음 4:28)

The summer heat has suddenly subsided, but news of heavy rain and flooding continues to spread, and the war shows no sign of dying down.

Still, in this season of harvest, May the God's grace, which enables us to bear fruit on its own, fills our lives. (Mark 4:28)

사역부지, 거주부지, 그리고 중장기 동역자 확보 문제

이미 알려드린 일련의 상황 끝에 두세 가지 대안을 염두에 두고 기도하며 노력하고 있습니다. (마태복음 7:7-8)

하지만 우리의 대안이 몇 개면 무슨 소용이 있겠습니까.

이 백성을 사랑하시고 구원의 역사를 이루시는 하나님의 뜻이 계실진대 우둔하고 성급한 우리를 깨우쳐주시기를 기도할 뿐입니다. (야고보서 4:15)

쉽지 않은 상황이지만 여러분의 기도와 후원이 저희들을 버티게 만들고 있습니다.

Business Site, Home Site, and Mid/Long-Term Field Missionary Needed

After the series of situations I have already shared, I am praying and striving with a few options in mind. (Matthew 7:7-8)

But what good is it if we have any alternatives.

If God's will to love these people and accomplish the work of salvation is unchanging, we can only pray that He may enlighten us, who are foolish and impatient. (James 4:15)

It is not an easy situation, but your prayers and support make us to go on.

목회 사역

9월 네 번의 주일 중에 세 번을 Bitter Springs Baptist Church에서 예배드리며 출애굽기 나눔을 시작했고, 한 번은 캘리포니아 방문시 옛 친구가 출석하는 교회에서 예배드렸습니다.

말씀을 전할 때마다 과연 나의 나눔이 하나님 보시기에 합당한지, 그래서 이러저런 어려움을 겪고 있는 현지 신자들의 신앙생활에 일말의 도움이 되고 있는지 깊은 고민을 합니다.

다음 링크에 이사야 55:10-11을 염두에 두고 약간의 생각을 토로해보았습니다.

PASTORAL MINISTRY

Out of the four Sundays in September, we held services at Bitter Springs Baptist Church three times to begin sharing the Book of Exodus, and once we worshiped at a church attended by an old friend during a visit to California.

Whenever I preach, I deeply reflect on whether my sharing is worthy in God’s eyes and whether it is providing even a small help to the life in faith of local believers who are facing various difficulties.

I expressed some of my thoughts at the following link with the Isaiah 55:10-11 in mind.

장마당사역: 무료 침치료 및 문서사역

9월에는 네 번 출장하여 침치료 49명, 문서사역 13건, 지도자 지원 세 건을 섬겼습니다.

한가하게 환자를 기다릴 때엔 과거 너무 바빠서 화장실도 못 가고 간식 먹을 시간이 없었던 일들이 생각나기도 하지만 요즘 하나님의 은혜에 근거한 우리의 섬김을 통해서 정신과 육체의 고통으로부터 해방되는 얼굴들을 보면서 이들에게 영적 해방도 속히 이뤄지기를 바랄 뿐입니다.

몸과 마음의 해방이 이렇게 행복할진대 영원을 회복하는 영적 해방은 참으로 사모할만한 일인 것이 분명합니다. (롬 8:1-2)

MARKET MINISTRY with Free Acupuncture and Booklet Ministry

In September, we went out to the market four times, providing acupuncture treatment to 49 people, serving 13 ministry projects, and supporting three leaders.

While waiting for patients in my slow time, I sometimes think of the old times when I couldn’t even go to the bathroom or find time for lunch snacks due to be busy, but seeing the faces freed from mental and physical sufferings through our service based on God’s grace nowadays, I can only hope that their spiritual liberation comes soon.

If liberation of body and mind is this joyful, then spiritual liberation that restores eternity is surely something to long for. (Romans 8:1-2)
