Duncan, Parker Too Much for Pacers

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 27 (Ticker) -- Tim Duncan's marksmanship helped the San Antonio Spurs extend a pair of streaks, including one the Indiana Pacers had yet to experience this season.

팀 던컨의 사격술이 샌안토니오 스퍼스가 연속기록을 늘려나가도록 했고, 인디애나 페이서스는 이번 시즌 경험해보지 못했던 기록을 당하고 말았다.

Duncan scored 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting as the Spurs won their eighth straight game at home and handed the Pacers a third consecutive loss for the first time this season with a 99-86 victory.

던컨이 11/15 슈팅으로 26 득점을 올리면서 99 대 86 의 승리를 통해 스퍼스는 홈에서 8연승을 이뤄냈고 페이서스에게는 이번 시즌 첫 3연패를 안겨줬다.

Although he continued his struggles from the line, making just 4-of-8 free throws, Duncan was tough to stop. He scored 15 points in the first half on 7-of-10 shooting and made his first four shots of the second half before a miss late in the fourth with his team in control.

단 4/8 의 자유투로  자유투 라인에서의 부진은 계속 됐지만, 던컨은 멈추기 힘들었다. 전반에 7/10 의 슈팅으로 15 득점을 올렸으며 후반의 처음 네 개의 샷을 모두 적중시킨 후 4쿼터 말에서 팀이 경기를 가져갔을 때쯤 하나를 놓쳤을 뿐이다.

"It was a lot better in the second half tonight," Duncan said. "My shot felt real good tonight and my confidence grew as the game progressed."

Tony Parker scored the final three points of the third quarter to give San Antonio a 66-63 lead entering the fourth and Robert Horry made a 3-pointer to begin the final period and open a six-point bulge.

Duncan added a jumper on the Spurs' next possession to make it 71-63 and later had seven straight San Antonio points, including back-to-back jumpers in a span of 15 seconds that started a critical 8-0 run.

스퍼스의 다음 공격권에서 던컨이 점퍼 하나를 추가하여 71-63으로 만들었고 그 후에 연속으로 샌안토니오의 7득점을 올렸다. 여기엔 15초의 시간안에 연속 점퍼가 있었는데 이를 통해 결정적인 8-0 런이 일어났다.

"This was a good game to get back into things," Duncan said. "The game was called a little tight, so we wanted to attack as much as possible. We were able to make some shots down the stretch."

Bruce Bowen capped the burst with a pair of free throws to make it 84-71 and Michael Finley and Horry both hit from the arc as the Spurs took a 90-78 lead into the final two minutes.

Horry was held scoreless in 13 minutes through the first three periods before making his only two attempts in the fourth.

Parker joined Duncan as the only San Antonio players to score in double figures, finishing with 27 points, six assists and three of the Spurs' five steals. Manu Ginobili returned from an eight-game layoff with a sprained foot to score nine points in 15 minutes.

"I don't know when I will get my rhythm back," said Ginobili, who missed all three of his 3-pointers and finished 3-of-7 from the line. "It won't take long. I was only out two weeks. I was only thinking about playing, and I stopped thinking about the ankle."

Ginobili showed a flash of his brilliance during a crucial stretch of the third. He had a free throw to pull San Antonio within 60-58 before drawing a charge and converting a layup to tie it. Seconds later, he grabbed a rebound and drove the length of the floor for a layup that put the Spurs ahead for good.

Jermaine O'Neal scored 17 of his 26 points in the first half and Jamaal Tinsley finished with 20 for the Pacers, who lost all three legs of a difficult trek that included visits to Cleveland and Dallas.

Indiana, which averaged just 85.0 points on the swing, shot 39 percent (15-of-38) in the second half while San Antonio was 17-of-29 (59 percent).

이 기간동안 고작 85.0 점을 기록하고 있는 페이서스는 후반에 39 퍼센트(15/38) 샷을 기록한 반면 샌안토니오는 17/29 (59 퍼센트)였다.
