"Tell us more of Lazarus," I said to James and Justus.
"Lord," said James, "it is wonderful what he does. He gathers together the people who have heard You talk and they discuss Your words. Often many people come who have not heard You, but they come to listen and discuss what You have said. Then together they all spend time in prayer. It is such a happy time; truly joyful."
"Yes, Lord," cut in Justus, "and when they ponder on Your words they see so much in them. I was amazed at how much could be learned from Your parables."
"Lazarus seems to understand a lot from a little," said James, " and his sisters are very helpful bringing food and drinks, then sitting in the background just listening," he finished.
"A good family," I said.
Justus mused, "Lord, I did notice that sometimes there were Pharisees there who were questioning just about everything that was said and often writing down Your words. They looked as if they did not have much love in their hearts."
"How did Lazarus deal with them?" asked Peter, with a genuine interest.
James spoke, "Brother, it did not seem to worry him. He just answered truthfully and in love."
I saw Lazarus before Me standing up and trusting completely in God as he answered many difficult questions and not being angry with those who argued with him, only loving them. What an example to mankind on how to serve God with love, with trust and with humility.
"Did he say anything about me?" asked Judas.
"No, why?" replied James.
"Oh, it doesn't matter," said Judas, who was glad t hat his taking of some coins on our last visit to Lazarus' home had gone unnoticed. Little did he understand it was noticed, but that in his love Lazarus had forgiven him. Judas was happy that his crime was unknown so now he could forget about it; it would be as if it never happened. Like so many others, he believed if you got away with a wrong then it was a victory and you need not concern yourself over what you had done. How easily evil deceives and brings false security and how sad it will be on Judgement Day for those who live this way.
It was with a heavy heart I spoke, "There are those who in life commit many wrongs and think nothing of it. They see it as the only way to live and often when they come in contact with people who live a good life they condemn or reject them. Goodness for many seems a ridiculous way to live, a naive way to be. Many take advantage of good people, use them, abuse them and make fun of them, often thinking how stupid are the good ones to let them get away with their actions. These people who commit the wrongs cannot see that it is because of the goodness, the love and the hope in others lives that the love of God still shines in the world."
"How sad would life be without goodness in the world," I said, as My followers nodded in agreement, even Judas, who did not understand I was talking of him, as well as those Pharisees
who opposed what Lazarus was saying and doing in My name.
Alan's Story
Carver Alan Ames was born on 9 November 1953 in the English town of Bedford. Despite his earlier upbringing as a Catholic, he strayed from the Church in no uncertain terms.
His sinful ways led him to living a wasted life of drinking and fighting. he met Kathryn, a girl from Australia. This meeting seemed to have changed his outlook on life. They were married and headed for Australia to begin a new life. Having been blessed with two children, and finding a good job,
the move seemed to have paid off. that urged him to drink and fight. Confused, and mindful of being labeled 'mad' if he openly complained, Alan kept this to himself. The pressure eventually got to him and he found himself joining bad company
and picking up his old habits of drinking and fighting. that kept him awake at night. Kathryn was very concerned with his behavior and suggested he see a priest. However, not having been a regular church goer, Alan did not take up thissuggestion. In his quest for a solution Alan found himself going to various 'healers', but could see that they were swindling many out of their belongings.
This experience gave Alan an insight into the traps that lie in wait for the unwary. Further assistance came from St.Teresa of Avila and the Apostles Andrew and Matthew.
They taught him how to pray and explained the Scriptures. Alan had his first vision of Our Blessed Mother. She appeared revealing Her Immaculate Heart. The visits of Our Lady to Alan continued as he endeavored, with encouragement, to lead a life of prayer.
He was now attending Mass daily and reciting the rosary up to nine times a day. as he found himself giving undivided attention to the heart warming voice, full of love and compassion,
which he immediately recognized to be that of Jesus. is what your soul does each time you pray. When your words of love and praise are received in Heaven they are returned in happiness, a happiness for your soul. What a gift I give to all of those who pray; they do not understand what they truly receive. They receive My love, My light, Me. They receive fullness of life, they receive true glory. They receive all of My graces, they receive all of My love, t hey receive Me through My Son Jesus and through My Holy Spirit.
What a gift is prayer, what a possession to be sought, what a joy, what a love!" I bring you My love and you bring Me your love
and when our love meets it is a joining together to become one in Me." and asked that She be known as the "Queen of the Cross". The vision has been painted and appears on the inside front cover of the book "Messages to Carver Alan Ames"
and on the back cover of "Through the Eyes of Jesus" Volume 1. As I watched an agony within burned so deep I could not stand. On my knees I prayed and prayed, on my knees I wept for my Son's agony to end and on my knees I saw the glory of God. I saw how much God loves His children, how much He was prepared to give to save them and how much He needed to forgive them. Nailed to the cross with my Son was my love, not as an equal but as a hand maiden wanting to serve her Lord and her God. In the service of Jesus was I as I watched His supreme act of love, a service I long all to share with me
so they can find the rewards that await them in Heaven, the rewards of God." however, given the story of his conversion it is quite clear that God's Love & Mercy are available to all, no matter how far one has strayed. Like Alan and so many before him have done, all one needs to do is to respond with a firm. YES!
