Litigate the Creator?

“At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place. Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth. Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth. After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend. For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth, ‘likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour. He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he made may know it. Then the beasts go into their lairs, and remain in their dens. From its chamber comes the whirlwind, and cold from the scattering winds. By the breath of God ice is given, and the bread broad waters are frozen fast. He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world. Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen. “Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God. Do you know how God lays his command upon them and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine? Do you know the balancing of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge, you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind? Can you like him, spread out the skies, hard as a cast metal mirror? Teach us what we shall say to him, we cannot draw up our case because of darkness. Shall it be told him that I would speak? Did a man ever wish that he would be swallowed up? “And now no one looks on the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them. Out of the north comes golden splendor; God is clothed with awesome majesty. The Almighty―we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate. Therefore men fear him; he does not regard any who are wise in their own conceit.”

이로 말미암아 내 마음이 떨며 그 자리에서 흔들렸도다 하나님의 음성 곧 그의 입에서 나오는 소리를 똑똑히 들으라 그 소리를 천하에 펼치시며 번갯불을 땅 끝까지 이르게 하시고 그 후에 음성을 발하시며 그의 위엄 찬 소리로 천둥을 치시며 그 음성이 들릴 때에 번개를 멈추게 하시느니라 하나님은 놀라운 음성을 내시며 우리가 헤아릴 수 없는 큰 일을 행하시느니라 눈을 명하여 땅에 내리라 하시며 적은 비와 큰 비도 내리게 명하시느니라 그가 모든 사람의 손에 표르 주시어 모든 사람이 그가 지으신 것을 알게 하려 하심이라 그러나 짐승들은 땅 속에 들어가 그 처소에 머무느니라 폭풍우는 그 밀실에에서 나오고 추위는 북풍을 타고 오느니라 하나님의 입김에 얼음을 얼게 하고 물의 너비를 줄어들게 하느니라 또한 그는 구름에 습기를 실으시고 그의 번개로 구름을 흩어지게 하시느니라 그는 감싸고 도시며 그들의 할 일을 조종하시느니라 그는 땅과 육지 표면에 있는 모든 자들에게 명령하시느니라 혹은 징계를 위하여 혹은 땅을 위하여 혹은 긍휼을 위하여 그가 이런 일을 생기게 하시느니라 욥이여 이것을 듣고 가만히 서서 하나님의 오묘한 일을 깨달으라 하나님이 이런 것들에게 명령하셔서 그 구름의 번개로 번쩍거리게 하시는 것을 그대가 아느냐 땅이 고요할 때에 남풍으로 말미암아 그대의 의복이 따뜻한 까닭을 그대가 아느냐 그대는 그를 도와 구름장들을 두들겨 넓게 만들어 녹여 부어 만든 거울 같이 단단하게 할 수 있겠느냐 우리가 그에게 할 말을 그대는 우리에게 가르치라 우리는 어둔하여 어쩌지 못하겠노라 내가 말하고 싶은 것을 어찌 그에게 고할 수 있으랴 삼켜지기를 바랄 자가 어디 있으랴 그런즉 바람이 불어 하늘이 말끔하게 되었을 때 그 밝은 빛을 아무도 볼 수 없느니라 전능자를 우리가 찾을 수 없나니 그는 권능이 지극히 크사 정의나 무한한 공의를 굽히지 아니하심이니라 그러므로 사람들은 그를 경외하고 그는 스스로 지혜롭다 하는 모든 자를 무시하느니라
