미국 원주민 보호구역 아리조나 투바시티에서 나바호족과 호피족 원주민들을 섬기는 이영호, 이선옥 선교사가 성령의 역사로 인한 의와 평강과 화평을 기원하며 인사드립니다.

최대 강수량 가운데 시월을 보냈습니다.

투바시티는 주변에 비해 비교적 비가 적은 곳이라 큰 피해가 없었지만 길 건너 호피 마을 저지대 농지는 침수되었고, 미국 서남부를 덮친 호우로 보호구역 안 이곳저곳 많은 침수 피해가 있었습니다.

비를 기다리면서도 대비하지 못하는 현실이 안타깝습니다.

한편 충분한 가을비에 봄에도 볼 수 없었던 새파랗게(진녹색) 솟아나는 잡초들을 보니 기이한 느낌이 들기도 합니다.

이번에는 예전보다 더 심한 엘니뇨라고 하니 겨울엔 어떤 폭설이 덮칠지 걱정입니다.

투바시티는 주변에 비해서 비도, 눈도 적은 곳이지만 주변 해발 육칠천 피트 고지에 눈이 오면 많은 불편이 발생할 텐데 염려되네요.

그저 생활과 출입에 무탈하기만을 기도합니다.

It was the October with the highest rainfall.

Tuba City suffered relatively little damage since it receives less rain than surrounding areas, but the low-lying farmland of Hopi across the street was flooded, and heavy rains that swept across the southwestern United States caused widespread flooding throughout the Reservation.

It is unfortunate that we cannot prepare for the reality of having to wait for the rain.

Meanwhile, it was amazing seeing the bright and deep green weeds sprouting, which I hadn't even seen in spring, due to the ample autumn rain.

They say this El Niño is more severe than before, so I'm worried about what kind of heavy snowfall will hit this winter.

Tuba City has less rain and snow compared to surrounding areas, but I'm concerned that when it snows at elevations of 6,000 to 7,000 feet, it could cause a lot of inconvenience.

I only pray that our daily life and any travel out and in may go smoothly.

사역부지, 거주부지, 그리고 중장기 동역자 확보 문제

사역 장소 확보를 위해 어느 정도의 얼개를 설정했고, 할 수 있는 일을 하고 있습니다.

그러나 현재로서는 일단 내년 초까지는 기다림의 시간이 될 거 같습니다.

그동안 장래사역을 계획하고 시도하면서 마음 한구석을 차지하던 생각은 제 건강과 수명이었습니다.

그러나 이제는 이 생각을 더 이상 하지 않기로 작정했습니다.

하나님께서 저희에게 설정하신 사명수명이 있을진대 할 수 있는 데까지 묵묵히 가도록 할 생각입니다.

변함없는 여러분들의 동역이 저희에게 큰 힘이 되고 있습니다.

Business Site, Home Site, and Mid/Long-Term Field Missionary Needed

We have set a rough framework for securing ministry sites and are doing what we can.

However, for now, it seems we will have to wait until early next year.

While planning and trying out future ministry, the thought that occupied a corner of my mind was my own health and lifespan.

But now, I have decided not to think about it any longer.

Since God has given us a mission and a calling, we intend to quietly carry on as long as we are able.

Your unwavering partnership is a great source of strength for us.

목회 사역

10월 네 번의 주일 중에 세 번을 Bitter Springs Baptist Church에서 예배드리며 출애굽기를 나눴고, 한 번은 동네 교회에서 예배드렸습니다.

예배를 드릴 때마다 하나님의 임재에 감사드리는 한편 이곳 여러 가정들이 경험하는 어려움, 투표를 앞두고 국가적인 갈등과 세계적인 전쟁 등이 조속히 종식되어 하나님의 정의와 평화가 이뤄지기를 기도하고 있습니다.

또한 기도하는 만큼 우리 각자가 해야 할 일들을 찾아 감당해야겠지요.

PASTORAL MINISTRY

Out of the four Sundays in October, we held services at Bitter Springs Baptist Church and shared the Book of Exodus three times, and once at a local church.

While giving thanks for God's presence during every service, we also pray that the difficulties faced by the many families here, as well as the national conflicts and global wars ahead of the upcoming elections, will end soon so that God's justice and peace may be realized.

And the more we pray, the more we must find and take responsibility for the tasks we need to do.

장마당사역: 무료 침치료 및 문서사역

10월에는 다섯 번 출장하여 침치료 100명, 문서사역 24건을 섬겼습니다.

8-11일 축제기간 금요일에 출장하여 모처럼 36명을 치료했습니다.

물론 숫자보다 효능, 효능보다 섬김이 더 중요하지요.

진심으로 섬기고자 노력하고 있으며 효능에서도 하나님의 손길을 경험합니다.

여러분이 도와주시고 하나님이 치료하시니 저는 다만 침을 놓을 뿐입니다.

이것이 바로 무료 침치료의 신비가 아닌가 싶군요.

MARKET MINISTRY with Free Acupuncture and Booklet Ministry

In October, we went out five times, providing acupuncture treatment to 100 people and serving in 24 ministry projects.

During the Fare from the 8th to the 11th, I set up and treated 36 people for the first time in a while.

Of course, effectiveness is more important than numbers, and service is more important than effectiveness.

We strive to serve sincerely and experience God's presence in the effectiveness of our work.

You help, God heals, and I merely poke the needles on them.

I think this is the real mystery of free acupuncture.

사역일정 OUR SCHEDULES

* 뉴저지 가족 방문: 12월 8일부터 내년 1월 4일까지,

* 한국 업무 차: 27년 1월 12일부터 2월 11일까지 (그리고 캘리포니아에서 삼사 일) 다녀올 예정입니다. 

가사(家事)와 업무가 있다 하지만 사뭇 장기 외출이라 마음이 무겁습니다. 다만 잘 감당하고자 합니다.

* New Jersey: 2026 Dec. 8 to 2027 Jan. 4.

* Korea: 2027 Jan. 12 to Feb. 11. for business. (And a few days in California.)

I feel burdened for a long absence, even though the trips are for family and official businesses. So, I'd better to manage the trips for some betterment.
