Sandpit
by D. J. Yoon
I love the sandpit by the river in our village
After school
I go to the sandpit by the river
And play alone until the sun sets.
After walking around the sandpit
I spread out on the sandpit
And stare blankly at my footprints in the sand.
Then, I find the footprints in the sandpit
Not just mine
But those of my friends
Seem to be mixed together.
I can almost hear my footprints
And my friend's footprints
Whispering sweetly to each other.
Perhaps that's why
I, more than anything

Appreciation Review 感想
Sandpit is a warm and gentle poem that shows how a simple place can feel special to a child.
The poem uses easy words and clear images to help readers imagine the sandpit by the river and the quiet time spent there after school.
When the child sees their own footprints mixed with their friends’, the poem reminds us that friendship can be felt even when we play alone.
The soft, peaceful tone makes the sandpit seem safe and full of happy memories.
Overall, Sandpit is a sweet and comforting poem that children can easily understand and enjoy.
