Mimosa Golf and Country Club is located in the middle of what was previously Clark Air Base. There are
two superb courses here that make imaginative use of the local landscape to provide some of the very best
golf in the Philippines.
Re-designed by Robin Nelson and Neal Howarth in the mid 1990's Mimosa now boasts the Mountainview
Championship Course and the Acacia Lakeview Course.
Mountainview is a huge course that is popular with the big-hitters (it plays 7,303 yards from the Green Tees
and 6,358 from the Blues) and some of the tee to hole distances are literally immense.
Unusually the front nine has three par 3's and the back nine just one. The first part of the Course is more hilly
and makes great use of several elevation changes.
The back 9 is flatter and plays much longer. The presence of water on several of the holes and a number of
carries over hazards do ensure that concentration levels have to be kept to a maximum.
The Acacia Lakeview Course is shorter (approximately 1,000 yards less from the White tees) and is arguably
more scenic. It takes its name from the many mature Acacia trees that line the fairways, some more than 100
years old. It is also a more forgiving track of golf but par is carefully guarded by water hazards, OB and some
difficult to read greens.
The backdrop to both Courses, Mt Pinatubo and the neighbouring mountain range, makes this a spectacular
setting for golf and a beautiful oasis away from the hectic nightlife of nearby Angeles City.
