Column: The Wages of Sin and the Gifts of God
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
1. We are saved with baptism, believing that the sinners who were in Adam were transferred into Christ through Jesus' death on the cross and being raised.
They say that we have been born again or made righteous and become children of God.
So, the order of salvation in systematic theology is also accomplished all at once: calling, born again, conversion, faith, justification, and adoption, that is, being called the son of God.
There, as saints who have been caught up in Christ and have obtained holiness, salvation is accomplished from glory to glory.
However, being born again is like being invited to the heavenly banquet, putting on a wedding dress, and entering the party hall.
There, life, God's gift, comes to those who believe in Christ Jesus as Lord.
2. However, those who say they believe in Jesus but do not hear and believe in the gospel of the grace of Christ's atonement on the cross and are not chosen to be called into Christ and clothed in Christ remain in the place of sin.
That place is a place where people are eventually driven out into the darkness outside, where they cry and gnash their teeth.
They are people who experience no joy due to various stresses.
This is because the wrath of God remains upon them (John 3:36).
If you remain in that place, a flock of chicks will come running to you, asking if you are born again.
You are constantly harassed by chick sexers.
You are also being attacked by the devil and God calls you in him, so you feel uneasy.
This is because you are on the other side.
3. People don't become sinners because they commit sin, but because they were sinners in the first place, they commit sin.
That's true.
It refers to singular sin and plural sins.
Therefore, when Paul says the wages of sin is death, he's not referring to the sins committed, but to the state of being a sinner, sitting in the seat of sin.
God does not look at the appearance of pastors and elders.
If you live in the place of sin, death is a given, regardless of whether you are a sinner or not.
An Australian man in Switzerland, after pressing the injection button for euthanasia, joked that it was a truly tasteless cocktail and that he shouldn't order it again, and then died.
Death, which is the dying element of both spirit and flesh, is tasteless.
In the place of sin, the tasteless wage of death is always given.
Death, like someone doing a losing business, is always complaining.
It withers.
It always condemns and criticizes others.
Those who condemn others are sinners.
4. We can say your current score is the lake of fire because it is evident on his face that he is drinking the tasteless cocktail of death.
However, to those who hold on to the Savior in Christ Jesus as their head, God grants the gift of eternal life in real time.
Those who possess death are constantly struck by the arrows of sin, and in reality, they face the law. (1 Corinthians 15:56)
The power of sin brings all, regardless of their status, under the law.
We are identified as sinners by our innate, natural conscience.
Before the X-ray power of the law, we automatically become sinners without hesitation.
Here, if we fail to count ourselves as having died and risen again with Christ and are not transferred into Christ, we become slaves to death.
But he who has eternal life in Christ Jesus cries out, "O death, Where is your victory? O death, Where is the sin that is you sting?" (1 Corinthians 15:55, 56)
Because we have victory through the life that is in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Praise comes from peace, joy, and gratitude.
Praise bursts forth every time life overcomes death.
Therefore, always examine whether you have faith in Christ Jesus our Lord, the resurrection and the life, within you.
Once you return to your proper place through the merits of Christ's cross and are established in the place, you will ascend and descend to the throne in the Holy Spirit, following the truth.
