Personality
We all come in different SHAPES and SIZES.
We all have STRENGTHS and weaknesses.
What's right for one person may not be right for another.
There are things that are important to me, that you don't care about at all!
And sometimes your behavior doesn't make any sense to me.
But I want for us to understand each other, and communicate well,
because we live together in the same world.
I know I can't expect you to want the same things that I want.
We are not the same person, so we will not always see things the same way.
I have my own thoughts and my own Ideas, that may or may not fit into your vision of who I should be.
By learning more about our own Personality, and about other Personality Types, we can come to a better understanding of our strengths and weaknesses.
We can improve interpersonal relationships, realign expectations towards others, and gain a better self-knowledge that will help define and achieve goals.
Who are you?
Imagine that you could be invisible for a week. Imagine that you can do whatever you want and no one will find out about it. Then, what would you do? Would you act just like the person you are featuring now? In the movie, Hollow Man, a scientist turns into a different man when he becomes invisible. Once he finds out that no one could see him, he started to do things he didn't even think about when he was visible.
We sometimes wear a "social mask" in front of other people and act like, or pretend to be, someone who we are not. Our daily life is a series of interaction with people. As we socialize with people, we develop a mask called "reputation". Reputation is not always equal to the kind of person we really are. Many people develop a different personality, or reputation, in order to get along with people, to better socialize, or to simply look good.
People can turn into some one else when no one's watching. For example, a person who acts and behaves like a true gentleman at work might turn into a porno freak when no body is around.
Susan, who dresses neatly and appears organized at your office, may act like an ape when she is home alone.
Smith, a shy and quiet student who is introvert at school, may be very violent and rude to his parents.
Dr. King, a respected university professor, might throw away an empty coke can on the street if no one is around.
It is true that we do things when no body's watching, the things that we would never do if some one's watching.
Aristotle said that human beings are social animals. We can not live on our own and we can only live by depending on other people. In a way, it is really difficult to define who we really are when we isolate ourselves from others. We decide what to do or what not to do depending on other people's reaction or expectation. However, it is true that there is a discrepancy between what is inside us, and what shows outside.

MBTI
What follows is a brief description of what has come to be known as the Myers Briggs test. Take a look at it. As you're reading about these categories, try to place yourself into one or more of them. You may learn something about your friends, co-workers, and loved ones, and yourself.
The first dimension is a familiar one : extrovert or introvert. This category has to do with the way in which people direct their energy. An extrovert is basically a person whose energies are activated by being with others. An introvert is
basically a person whose energies are activated by being alone.
The second dimension of personality is sensor or intuitive. This category has to do with kind of information we notice and remember easily. Sensors are practical people who notice what is going on around them. They rely on past experiences to make determinations. Intuitives are more interested in relationships between things or people. They tend to be imaginative and to focus on what could be.
The third personality dimension is thinker or feeler. This category has to do with the way in which we come to conclusions. Thinkers are those who tend to make decisions objectively and impersonally on the basis of what makes sense and what is logical. Feelers make decisions based on their own personal values and how they feel about choices.
The fourth category is judger or perceiver. This dimension has to do with the kind of environment that makes us feel most comfortable. Judgers are people who prefer a structured and predictable environment. They like to make decisions and have things settled. Perceivers are more interested in keeping their options open, preferring to experience as much of the world as possible.
It certainly doesn't give us any magic powers or tools for dealing with people. But it can give us insight. It can help us understand others better, and perhaps minimize or at least reduce conflict. Best of all, it can help us to understand ourselves.
