My role model is Isaac Newton, a British scientist who has contributed greatly to science. He is best known for discovering the law of universal gravitation.
Born in England, Newton grew up in a rural family. By the age of 13, he became interested in chemistry and even topped his class.
Although the Great Plague in England in 1665 forced the University of Cambridge to close, Newton made effective use of this time. Instead of wasting time, he stayed in his hometown and focused on his research, making important discoveries in many fields, including calculus, optics, astronomy, and physics, many of which are still used today.
Newton thought about universal gravitation for a long time. He kept trying to unify the ideas of scientists such as Kepler and Galileo. As a result, he published Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy in 1687, which includes the law of universal gravitation and his own laws of motion.
By observing ordinary things, such as apples falling and the moon moving in the sky, which people usually take for granted, Newton developed a new way of thinking. I want to resemble his curiosity and his ability to question what seems obvious.
In his later years, Newton remained humble, saying that he could see further because he stood on the shoulders of giants. Today, he is remembered as one of the greatest geniuses in human history.
Because of him, I want to explain the phenomena of nature and the universe and conduct research that can help humanity. I hope to make meaningful contributions and inspire future generations.
