서던 캘리포니아 대학교 (USC)와 UCLA의 평균 합격률 비교 그리고,  전반적인 대학 정보와 지원 요령, 장학금 관련 정보를 수록하였습니다. 도움이 되시길 바랍니다. 

서던 캘리포니아 대학교와 UCLA는 모두 LA에 위치해 있고 차로 약 20분 거리에 있는 경쟁적인 라이벌 대학들입니다.

    전체 규모 면에서 비슷하지만 학부 규모는 학부생 27000여 명의 UCLA 가 19000여 명의 서던캘리포니아 대학교 보다 더 크다고 볼 수 있습니다. US news에 발표된 랭킹 순위도 비슷한 수준에 있으며, 합격률도 매우 비슷해 합격이 어려운 학교들입니다. 그러나 서던 캘리포니아 대학이 합격자 평균 SAT 점수가 더 높은 반면 UCLA는 합격자 평균 GPA 가 더 높다는 점을 지원자들은 유의해 보아야겠습니다.

    UCLA는 공립대학교로 경영, 공학, 의학, 교육이 유명한 반면 서던캘리포니아 대학교는 경영, 의학, 법학, 공학, 예술 등 전 분야에서 두루 강점이 있습니다.

가장 큰 차이는 학비에 있습니다.

   USC는 학점 단위로 등록금이 부과됩니다. 그러나 UCLA는 기본 등록금이 있어서 그 등록금만 내면 12학점을 듣든 20학점을 듣든 등록금의 차이가 없습니다. UCLA에서 Instate라고 불리는 학비 혜택이 있어 시민권이나 영주권을 가진 학생들은 타주 출신이어도 1~2년 학교를 다니면 다 Instate라고 불리는 학비 혜택을 받을 수 있습니다. 따라서 미국 영주권자나 시민권자 학생들이 두 개 학교 모두에 합격했을 경우 가성비 측면에서 UCLA를 추천합니다. 그러나 유학생의 경우 졸업 시까지 UCLA에 Out-of-State 학비를 내는 비용과 USC에서 최소 졸업 학점을 수강하며 등록금을 낼 경우의 차이가 서로 크지 않다는 점에서 사립대의 이점이 있는 서던캘리포니아 대학교를 추천합니다.
