What does 'X-rated' stand for?

저도 아는 단어라고 생각했는데..  역시 아는 것도 짚어보고 가야한다는 것을 새삼 느끼며..

원어민이신 저의 그 분에게 물어봐도,

"Well, I'm so used to use it for those adult films and I know that there are X-rated, XX, and XXX but that's about it."
