JKsam's message for this week.
Hello everyone, do you know what "배꼽" means? It refers to the navel.
Shall we learn a few words related to the belly button?
1. Expression [너무 웃겨서 배꼽이 빠지는 줄 알았어요. ]
너무 too much, 웃기다 funy, 웃겨서=웃기다+어서=>웃기어서=>웃겨서, 배꼽 belly buttn, 빠지다 fall off, 알다 know, A,V+는 줄 알았어요=> this grammar is used to descrive the situation that the speaker does not anticipate.
so it literally means [It's so funy so that i thought my belly button is going to fall off]
friends, do you know western people how they say same situation? they say LMAO(Laughing my ass off).
배꼽 vs Ass? it's funny.
How do you say in Darija in same situation?
2. 배보다 배꼽이 더 크다.
배 belly, 배꼽 belly botten, 더 more, 크다 big
so it literally means [belly botten is biger than belly]
when we use this expression? for example, if you buy something from online but the tranfer fee is bigger than the price of the product.
in this case you can say "와, 이 거 배보다 배꼽이 더 크네"
이 거=spoken of 이 것(this thing), 크네=크다+네(ending word, used when you realise something new).
3. 배꼽인사
배꼽 belly botton, 인사 greeting.
It refers to a greeting method where you bring both hands together around your navel and bow at the waist respectfully.
Friends, I hope you can enjoy next week, and live life respecfully to yourself and the others.
