쿠알라룸푸르 - 말레이시아 정부는 10월에 경제가 재개될 예정이기 때문에 모든 연방 공무원에게 예방 접종을 의무화했습니다.

목요일(9월 30일)에 발표한 성명에서 공공 서비스 부서(PSD)는 의학적 면제 없이 예방 접종을 거부한 사람은 징계 조치를 받을 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

부서는 Facebook 페이지에 게시한 성명에서 "모든 연방 공무원은 2021년 11월 1일 이전에 예방 접종을 완료해야 합니다."라고 밝혔습니다.

아직 예방 접종을 받지 않은 사람은 정부가 설치한 예방 접종 센터에 가서 예방 접종을 받을 수 있다고 밝혔습니다.

부서는 연방 공무원의 약 98%가 지금까지 예방 접종을 완료했으며, 목요일의 조치는 나머지 16,902명이 예방 접종을 받도록 하는 것이 목적이라고 밝혔습니다.

이 부서는 백신 의무화는 일반 대중에게 신뢰를 제공하기 위한 것이며 경제 재개에 앞서 정부 서비스를 최적의 용량으로 복구하려는 목표와도 일치한다고 밝혔습니다.

말레이시아가 높은 백신 접종률을 달성하고 국가 백신 접종이 성인 인구를 넘어 확대됨에 따라 당국은 지금까지 등록하지 않았거나 백신 접종을 거부한 사람들에게 다가가고 있습니다.

KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian government has made vaccination mandatory for all federal civil servants ahead of a planned reopening of the economy in October.

In a statement on Thursday (Sept 30), the Public Service Department (PSD) said that those who refused vaccination without any medical exemptions would be subject to disciplinary action.

"All federal civil servants have to complete their vaccination before Nov 1 2021," the department said in the statement published on its Facebook page.

It said that those who had yet to be vaccinated could walk into any vaccination centres set up by the government to get their shots.

Nearly 98 percent of federal civil servants had completed their vaccination to date, the department said, and the move on Thursday was meant to compel the remaining 16,902 to do so.

The department said that the vaccination mandate was meant to provide confidence to the general public and was also in line with the aim of restoring government services to optimum capacity ahead of the economy's reopening.

As Malaysia achieves a high vaccination rate, with the national vaccination drive widened beyond the adult population, authorities are now reaching out to those who have not registered or have refused vaccination so far.
