마가복음10:32-45 군림이냐 섬김이냐?

누구나 영광을 구한다고 봅니다. 영광을 얻고자 하는 마음 자체를 악하다 할 수 없지요. 하지만 어떤 영광을, 어떤 방식으로 추구하느냐는 매우 중요합니다. 세상 영광을 구하면 '영원한 벌'에 이를 것이고, 하나님의 영광을 구한다면 '영생'에 이를 것이기 때문입니다.  주님이 구하신 영광은 어떤 것이며, 제자가 구해야 할 영광은 무엇인가? Everyone seeks glory. The desire for glory itself cannot be called evil. But it is very important what kind of glory and how you pursue it. Because if you save the glory of the world, you will be punished forever, and if you save the glory of God, you will be eternal. What is the glory that the Lord has saved, and what is the glory that the disciple should save?

예루살렘으로 향한 주님의 여정(막8-10장)이 시작되면서 울 주님께서 장차 다가올 고난에 대하여 애견하시고 ‘십자가와 부활’에 대하여 특강을 하셨습니다. 찬찬히 듣고 보니 핵심은 로드 십(Lordship)에 있다는 뜻 같습니다. 제게 지난 20여 년 동안 그 로드십에 대하여 삶으로 성경으로 가르쳐 주신 분이 있는데 지난 2007.1.24.미주 사역을 마치고 LA이로 이동하는 중에 심장마비 사를 당하신 그분의 소천 소식은 충격이었습니다. As the journey of your journey to Jerusalem began, our Lord gave a special lecture on the resurrection of the cross-strait families, on the coming hardships. Now that I hear it carefully, I think the key is in Lordship. There's a man who has taught me about the Road Ten in the Bible in his life for the last 20 years or so, last time, he's been working in the Americas. The news of his death on his way to Los Angeles was shocking.

고난과 죽음의 장소로 예고된 예루살렘을 향해 주님께서는 앞서 가시지만, 제자들은 겁내고 두려워합니다. 그럼에도 주님은 자신이 어떤 절차와 과정을 거쳐 고난을 받고 죽음에 이르게 될지를 구체적으로 밝히십니다. 하나님나라가 어떤 나라인지 가르치시고, 자신이 추구하는 영광이 무엇인지 선명히 보여 주시기 위하여 놀라고 두려워하는 제자들과 무리보다 앞서서 예루살렘을 향해 성큼성큼 올라가셨습니다. You go ahead toward Jerusalem, which is heralded as a place of suffering and death, but your disciples are terrified and afraid. Nevertheless, the Lord says in detail what procedure and process he will suffer and die. Teach me what kind of country God is, He went up to Jerusalem ahead of his disciples, who were astonished and feared, to show clearly what glory he sought.

세베대의 두 아들 야고보와 요한이 주께서 등극하실 때 자신들을 좌우편에 앉게 해달라고 요청합니다. 주님이 참 영광을 얻으려면 마셔할 잔과 세례가 있다고 경고하시지만, 그들은 아랑곳 하지 않고 자리 욕심을 내보입니다. 누누이 그들의 어리석음을 지적하였는데 이번에는 나머지 제자들마저 분을 내며 자리다툼에 가세합니다. When the LORD ascends, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, ask them to sit on their left and right sides. The LORD warns that there are cups and baptisms to drink to be honored, but they do not care about it and show their desire to sit down. My sister and sister have pointed out their folly, but this time the rest of my disciples are angry and join me in the struggle.

상황은 그들의 속내를 드러내는 법, 다윗왕국의 영광을 기대한 제자들의 감춰진 욕망이 여지없이 분출된 것입니다. 주님께서 자리다툼에 몰두해 있는 제자들을 불러 하나님 나라를 교훈하십니다."그 나라는 말이지 세상나라의 지배 방식이 아니라 역행하는 나라라고." The situation was a manifestation of the hidden desire of his disciples for the glory of the kingdom of David. For the LORD has called upon his disciples, who are preoccupied with their position, to teach them the kingdom of God. "It's not the way the world rules, it's the country that goes against it."

두 제자와 이들의 청탁을 듣고 분노한 다른 열 제자들이 모두 꿈꾸는 나라는 압제자와 피압제자가 바뀔 뿐 세상 권력자들이 누리는 권세와 다른 바 없습니다. 그것은 하나님 나라의 영광이 아닙니다. 세상의 거절과 폭력에 굴하지 않고 자기 부정과 사랑이라는 하나님 나라 방식의 삶을 추구할 때 참 영광을 얻을 수 있습니다. 예수의 삶을 뒤쫓는 제자라면 군림이 아닌 섬김이 영광의 길이며 생명의 길입니다. 나도 예수님의 길을 영광의 길로 착각하여 고난을 피하고 있지 않은가? 제자가 구해야 할 영광은 어떤 것인가?

The country that both the two disciples and the other ten disciples, who were angry at their request, dream of is no different from the power enjoyed by the world's powerful people, except for the change of oppressors and oppressors. It is not the glory of the kingdom of God. You can get true glory when you pursue a life of self-denial and love without giving in to the rejection and violence of the world. Serving, not reign, is the way of glory and the way of life if you are a disciple who pursues Jesus' life. Aren't I also avoiding hardship by mistaking Jesus' path for glory? What is the honor that a disciple should seek?

십자가로만 얻는 메시아의 영광_ the glory of the Messiah who gets only the cross

앉을 수 없는 좌우편의 영광_ the unseated glory of the left and right

군림이 아니라 섬김으로 얻는 영광_ the glory of serving, not reign

보좌 우편에 앉기를 원했던 야고보는 최초의 순교자가 되어 원했던 영광을 얻었고, 좌편을 원했던 요한은 마지막 순간까지 교회를 위한 섬김과 수고를 다하다가 영광을 얻었나이다. 섬기러 오신 주님을 본받아 예수님처럼 바울처럼 살다 가게 하옵소서.

James, who wanted to sit in the assistant mail, became the first martyr and gained the honor he wanted, and John, who wanted to sit on the side, gained the honor after doing his service and hard work for the church until the last minute. Let us live like Paul, following the example of the Lord who came to serve.
