Bible Reading - Proverbs 22:1~10

22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; 좋은 이름은 큰 부유함보다 더 바람직하며.

to be esteemed(존경받다) is better than silver or gold. 존경받는 것은 은이나 금보다 낫다.

22:2 Rich and poor have this in common: 부자와 가난한 사람은 공통점이 있다.

The LORD is the Maker of them all. 여호와께서 그들 모두를 만드셨다.

22:3 A prudent(신중한) man sees danger and takes refuge, 신중한 사람은 위험을 보고 피난처를 찾고,

but the simple keep going and suffer for it. 어리석은(단순한) 사람은 계속 나가다가 고통을 받는다.

22:4 Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.

겸손과 여호와를 경외함은 부유함과 명예와 생명을 가져온다.

22:5 In the paths of the wicked lie thorns and snares(올가미), 악인의 길에는 가시와 올가미가 있으나

but he who guards his soul stays far from them. 영혼을 지키는 자는 그것들에서 멀리 떨어져있다.

22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, 아이가 마땅히 가야만 하는 길로 훈련시키면

and when he is old he will not turn from it. 그가 늙었을 때에도 그것으로부터 돌아서지 않을 것이다. 

22:7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

부자는 가난한 사람을 지배하고, 빌리는 사람은 빌려주는 사람의 종이 된다.

22:8 He who sows wickedness reaps(거두다) trouble, 악을 뿌리는 자는 재앙(곤란)을 거두고,

and the rod of his fury will be destroyed. 그의 분노의 막대기는 파괴될 것이다.

22:9 A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

관대한 사람은 그 자신이 복을 받을 것이다. 왜냐하면 그가 그의 음식을 가난한 자와 나누기 때문이다. 

22:10 Drive out the mocker, 조롱하는 자를 몰아내어라.

and out goes strife(싸움); 그러면 싸움이 없어질 것이며

quarrels and insults are ended. 다툼과 모욕이 끝난다.
