Book Pizza
by D.J. YOON
My sister’s teacher likes traveling.
The teacher tells many stories.
They talk about our country and other countries.
They talk about the moon and the stars.
The teacher wants to walk together and see and hear and feel together.
My brother’s teacher likes sports.
At recess and after school, they go to the playground.
They play soccer and kickball together.
If someone falls, the teacher holds a hand and helps the child stand up.
When the game is over, everyone cheers.
My teacher likes pizza.
Sweet potato pizza
Bulgogi pizza
Cheese pizza
Which one does he like?
My teacher says,
“Kids, Book pizza*.
Open your books.”
My teacher likes book pizza anytime.
Pizza can be many kinds.
But my teacher’s pizza, no, no, book pizza,
I mujangmujang* hate it.
*Book pizza is pronounced like ‘Open your book’ in Korean.
*Mujangmujang is a Jeolla dialect that means ‘the more it goes on, the more’ or ‘more and more’.
Appreciation Review 感想
This poem is fun and easy for children to read.
It talks about teachers in a warm and friendly way, using simple stories that feel real.
Children can enjoy how each teacher is different and kind in their own way.
The ending is very funny because pizza turns into a word joke that makes kids laugh and smile.
The child’s honest feeling makes the poem feel close and true.
Overall, this poem is playful, clear, and enjoyable, and it makes reading feel light and happy.

첫댓글 ‘책 피자’라는 말이 동음이의어처럼 활용되어 뜻이 바뀌는 말장난이 웃음을 자아내며, 아이들이 언어의 재미를 자연스럽게 느끼게 합니다. 아이의 솔직한 마음이 잘 전달되어 공감을 불러일으킵니다.^_^
감사합니다
