여호와께서, “사람을 보내어 내가 이스라엘 자손에게 주는 가나안 땅을 정탐하되 각 지파에서 지휘관 한 사람씩 보내라. 모세가 여호와의 명령을 따라 바란 광야에서 그들을 보냈으니 다 이스라엘 자손의 수령된 사람이라(13:2-3)-모세가 가나안 땅을 정탐하러 보내며 네겝 길로 산지로 올라가서, 거민이 강한지 약한지 많은지 적은지, 땅이 좋은지 나쁜지 진영인지 산성인지, 비옥한지 메마른지 나무가 있는지 없는지를 탐지하라 담대하라 그 땅의 실과를 가져오라 하였듯(13:17-20)” 말씀과 성령이 가르치는 진리를 올바로 듣고 배워야 됩니다.

True faith comes when you correctly hear and learn the truth of the Lord God taught through his Word and the Holy Spirit, as “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelite. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders. So, at the Lord’s command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites. – When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, ‘Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country. See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they do they unwalled or fortified? How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land (13:2-3, 17-20)”

그리고, “그들이 올라가서 정탐하되 신 광야부터 하맛 어귀 르홉에 이르렀고, 네겝으로 올라가서 헤브론에 이르렀으니 애굽 소안보다 칠년 전에 세운 곳이라 아낙 자손 아히만과 세새와 달매가 있었더라. 에스골 골짜기에서 포도송이가 달린 가지를 베어 둘이 막대기에 꿰어 메고 석류와 무화과를 따니라. 이스라엘 자손이 포도를 베었으므로 에스골 골짜기라 불렀더라. 사십일 동안 땅을 정탐하고 돌아와, 바란 광야 가데스에 이르러 모세와 아론과 이스라엘 자손의 회중에게 그 땅의 과일을 보이고, 과연 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅의 과일이라(13:21-27)” 하였듯, 맡은 사명에 철저하게 순종하며 지켜야 믿음입니다.

And you must thoroughly obey and keep the mission entrusted to you, as “So, they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath. They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt. When they reached the valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land. They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey. Here is its fruit (13:21-27)”

그러나 하나님 말씀과 같은 상황을 보고 경험할지라도 믿음이 없으면, “거주민은 강하고 성읍은 견고하고 심히 클 뿐 아니라 아낙 자손을 보았으며, 아말렉인은 남방 땅에 거주하고 헷인과 여부스인과 아모리인은 산지에 거주하고 가나안인은 해변과 요단 가에 거주하더이다(13:28-29)” 하였듯, 비방하고 헐뜯는 죄에 빠지고, 믿고 신뢰하면, “갈렙이 모세 앞에서 백성을 조용하게 하고 우리가 올라가서 그 땅을 취하자 능히 이기리라(13:30)” 담대하게 선포하고 격려하게 됩니다.

Even if you see and experience the same situation as God’s word, if you do not have faith you will fall into the sin of criticizing and slandering, as “The people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan (13:28-29)” But, if we believe and trust, we will boldly proclaim and encourage obedience to God’s will, as “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it (13:30)”

그렇지만, “함께 올라갔던 사람들은 우리는 그 백성을 치지 못하리라 우리보다 강하니라, 우리가 두루 다니며 정탐한 땅은 거주민을 삼키는 땅이요 백성은 신장이 장대한 자들이며, 네피림 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보았나니 우리는 스스로 보기에도 메뚜기 같으니 그들이 보기에도 똑같았으리라(13:31-33)” 하였듯, 믿음이 없고 육신적 눈으로 본 사실을 들어 부정적으로 말하게 되고, “온 회중이 소리를 높여 부르짖으며 밤새도록 통곡하였더라. 모세와 아론을 원망하며 우리가 애굽에서 죽었거나 광야에서 죽었으면 좋았을 것을, 어찌하여 여호와가 우리를 그 땅으로 인도하여 칼에 쓰러지게 하려 하는가 우리 처자가 사로잡히리니 애굽으로 돌아가는 것이 낫지 아니하랴. 우리가 지휘관을 세우고 애굽으로 돌아가자(14:1-4)” 하였듯, 사람들은 믿음의 격려보다 세상적인 말을 더 신뢰하는 죄에 빠집니다.

But if you don’t have faith, you will speak negatively about what you have seen, as “The men who had gone up with him said, ‘We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are. And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, ‘The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them (13:31-33)” Moreover, the problem is that people have the sin of trusting critical words more than encouraging faith, as “That night all the people of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, ‘If only we had died in Egypt. Or in this desert. Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt? And they said to each other, ‘We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt (14:1-4)”

그러면 “모세와 아론이 이스라엘 자손의 앞에서 엎드렸듯(14:5)” 성령께서 가르치거나 역사하지 않게 되고, “눈의 아들 여호수아와 여분네의 아들 갈렙이 옷을 찢고, 이스라엘 온 회중에게 우리가 두루 정탐한 땅은 심히 아름다운 땅이라. 여호와께서 우리를 기뻐하시면 그 땅으로 인도하시고 주시리라 과연 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이니라. 여호와를 거역하지는 말라 그 땅 백성을 두려워하지 말라 그들의 보호자는 떠났고 여호와는 우리와 함께 하시느니라 두려워하지 말라(14:6-9)” 하였듯, 믿음의 사람을 통해 가르치는데, “회중이 그들을 돌로 치려 하는데 여호와의 영광이 회막에서 이스라엘 자손에게 나타나셨듯(14:10)” 믿음의 사람들을 해하려 할 때 영광과 능력으로 나타나 보호하십니다.

Then the Holy Spirit will no longer teach him, as “Then Moses and Aaron fell face down in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there (14:5)” Instead, He speak through the faithful men only, as “Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes, and said to the entire Israelite assembly, ‘The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them (14:6-9)” But violent sins arise from a heart that refuses to listen to words of encouragement or advice, but those who have the right faith are protected by God, as “The whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites (14:10)”

여호와께서 “이 백성이 언제까지 나를 멸시하겠느냐 내가 많은 이적을 행하였으나 언제까지 믿지 않겠느냐, 내가 전염병으로 쳐서 멸하고 네게 그들보다 크고 강한 나라를 이루게 하리라(14:11-12)” 하셨듯, 거역하는 죄를 심판하고 순종하는 자에게는 복을 약속하는데, 모세가 “주께서 이 백성을 죽이시면 주의 명성을 들은 여러 나라가, 여호와가 이 백성에게 주기로 맹세한 땅에 인도할 능력이 없었으므로 광야에서 죽였다 하리이다. 구하옵나니 말씀하신 주의 큰 권능을 나타내옵소서, 여호와는 노하기를 더디하시고 인자가 많아 죄악과 허물을 사하시나 형벌 받을 자는 결단코 사하지 아니하시고 아버지의 죄악을 자식에게 갚아 삼사대까지 이르게 하리라 하셨나이다. 구하옵나니 주의 인자의 광대하심을 따라 백성의 죄악을 사하시되 애굽에서부터 지금까지 같이 사하시옵소서(14:15-19)” 간구했듯, 자신에게 주신다는 은혜와 복에 끌리지 말고, 멸망할 생명들을 위해 간구해야 용서하고 고쳐주는 대속의 은혜를 얻습니다.

So, God promised that if who obeys him, He will bless, and if who disobeys him, He will judge, as “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous sighs I have performed among them? I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they (14:11-12)” However, do not be deceived by the promised grace abd blessings, but pray for the poor lives that will be judged to destruction, and receive the grace of Christ’s redemption that forgives and heals, as “If you put these people to death all at one time, the nations who have heard this report about you will say, ‘The Lord was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath; so he slaughtered them in the desert. Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared: ‘The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now (14:15-19)”

그래서 “네 말대로 사하노라. 그러나 내가 살아 있는 것과 여호와의 영광이 온 세계에 충만할 것을 두고 맹세하노니, 내 영광과 애굽과 광야에서 행한 이적을 보고서도 열번이나 나를 시험하고 내 목소리를 청종하지 아니한 사람들은, 내가 맹세한 땅을 결단코 보지 못하리라. 내 종 갈렙은 나를 온전히 따랐은즉 그가 갔던 땅으로 내가 인도하여 들이리니 그 땅을 차지하리라(14:20-24)” 하셨듯, 용서하고 징계와 심판을 미루셨지만, 순종하는 사람 안에서만 생명의 역사를 이루시는 임마누엘 하나님이십니다.

So, that the Lord works of salvation of life in Christ of Immanuel to whom, he obeys to the end only, even he had been forgives and postpones discipline and judgement, as “I have forgiven them, as you asked. Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth, not one of the men who saw my glory and the miraculous signs I performed in Egypt and in the desert but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times-not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it (14:20-24)”

그러므로, “내 삶을 두고 맹세하노라 너희 말대로 내가 너희에게 행하리니, 시체가 광야에 엎드러질 것이라 이십세 이상 나를 원망한 자 전부가, 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아 외에는 내가 맹세한 땅에 결단코 들어가지 못하리라. 너희가 사로잡히겠다고 말하던 유아들은 내가 인도하여 들이리니 너희가 싫어하던 땅을 보려니와, 너희의 시체는 광야에 엎드러질 것이요. 자녀들은 너희 반역한 죄를 지고 너희가 소멸되기까지 40년을 방황하리라. 땅을 정탐한 사십일의 하루를 일년으로 40년간 너희의 죄악을 담당할지니 내가 싫어하면 어떻게 되는지를 알리라. 나를 거역하는 악한 회중이 광야에서 소멸되리라. 모세의 보냄을 받고 땅을 정탐하고 돌아와서 악평하여 회중이 모세를 원망하게 한 사람, 악평한 자들은 여호와 앞에서 재앙으로 죽었고, 눈의 아들 여호수아와 여분네의 아들 갈렙은 생존하였듯(14:28-38)” 거역하는 자들은 저주하시고 순종하는 자들을 복을 주십니다.

Therefore, God curses those who disobey and blesses those who obey, as “As surely as I live, I will do to you the very things I heard you say: In this desert your bodies will fall-every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. But you-your bodies will fall in this desert. Your children will be shepherds hear for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the desert. For forty years-one year for each of the forty days you explored the land-you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this desert; here they will die. So, the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it-these men responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord. Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived (14:28-38)”

그런데 “모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 알리매 백성이 크게 슬퍼하여, 아침에 일찍이 일어나 산 꼭대기로 올라가며 보소서 우리가 여기 있나이다 여호와께서 허락하신 곳으로 올라가리니 우리가 범죄하였음이니이다. 모세가 이르되 어찌하여 여호와의 명령을 범하느냐 형통하지 못하리라. 여호와께서 너희 중에 계시지 아니하니 올라가지 말라 대적 앞에서 패할까 하노라. 아말렉인과 가나안인 앞에 너희가 망하리라 너희가 여호와를 배반하였으니 여호와께서 함께 하지 아니하시리라 하나, 산 꼭대기로 올라갔고 여호와의 언약궤와 모세는 진영을 떠나지 아니하였더라. 아말렉인과 산간지대에 거주하는 가나안인이 내려와 그들을 무찌르고 호르마까지 이르렀듯(14:39-45)” 사람들은 징계와 저주가 결정된 다음 뒤늦게 깨닫고 순종하려 하지만, 오히려 거역하는 죄가 되고 멸망을 자초하게 됩니다. 그러므로, 세상적인 판단에 더 기울어지려는 육신의 생각에 속아 하나님을 거역하는 죄에 빠지지 말고, 믿음의 권고가 믿어지지 않더라도 전능하고 신실하신 하나님을 믿고 신뢰하며 맡기고 순종하여, 가르치고 인도하며 사용하고 이루는 임마누엘 하나님 은혜와 사랑과 능력 안에서 복음의 진리를 전하는 생명의 열매를 맺고 구원 얻어야 합니다. 그처럼 올바른 믿음 되기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

However, almost of the peoples are realize and try to obey, only after God has decided on the curse and judgement, but instead, they commit the sin of rebellion and are judged to be destroyed, as “When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly. Early the next morning they went up toward the high hill country. We have sinned, they said. We will go up to the place the Lord promised. But Moses said, ‘Why are you disobeying the Lord’s command? This will not succeed. Do not go up because the Lord is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies, for the Amalekites and Canaanites will face you there. Because you have turned away from the Lord, he will not be with you and you will fall by the sword. Nevertheless, in their presumption they went up toward the high hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the Lord’s covenant moved from the camp. Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah (14:39-45)” Therefore, 애 not fall into the sin of rebelling against God, being deceived by the fleshly thoughts that tend to lean toward worldly judgement. Even if the advice of faith is not credible, believe in, trust in, entrust to, and obey the Almighty and faithful God. In the grace, love, and power of Emmanuel God who teaches, guides, uses and accomplishes, you must bear the fruit of life that spreads the truth of the gospel and obtain salvation. I hopefully pray and plead for you to my God, you shall be as right and worthy faith in Christ Jesus all. Amen.
