Now That You're Saved, How Have You Changed?(1 Corinthians 2:10~14)
“...but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”(10)
Hymn #284 The Abundant Love of Jesus(Unified Hymn 206)
Even after receiving salvation, if you don't know who you are, what's been imprinted; rooted; and natured in you will dominate you. As a result, even though your soul has been saved, your life will die. Then, through the Bible, you must accurately confirm how you've changed after being saved.
1. A Wrong View of Salvation
Most people have a wrong view of salvation. They think that they've been saved just because they have a religion or go to church. They also misunderstand zeal as a measure of salvation, or they think that if they're firm in their beliefs and philosophies, they'll be saved. Jesus said, "Come to me."(Matthew 11:28-30) The thought that something must be done is religion.
2. The State
The state of being saved is an internal change. In other words, a spiritual change that saves the soul will arise(Matthew 16:16-20, Galatians 2:20, & 2 Corinthians 5:17). Those who are saved become God's temple because the Holy Spirit dwells in them(1 Corinthians 3:16). In addition, the Holy Spirit will never leave and will stay with them forever(John 14:16~17). As a result, those who are saved will receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and He'll make them understand all things and give them true peace(John 14:26~27).
3. How?
How can people be saved? They just have to believe in Jesus and through prayer, accept Him(John 1:12 & Revelation 3:20). By doing so, they'll be born again of the Holy Spirit John 3:5 and will not perish, but have eternal life(John 3:14~16).
4. Change
To those who are saved, changes will occur. Their spiritual family registry changes from being children of the devil to becoming children of God(John 8:44-John 5:24). Simply put, their status(Romans 6:17-Romans 6:22) as well as the states of their spiritual and physical lives change(Ephesians 2:1-Ephesians 2:5). Ultimately, they change into people who receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit(Ephesians 2:2-Galatians 5:18).
Until the very end, God will never abandon those who have life; instead, through the Holy Spirit, He'll continue to lead them(John 14:16~26).
[Covenantal Prayer] Dear God, I sincerely thank Jesus Christ for saving me and completely changing me spiritually. Thank you for making me Your temple and granting me true peace. May I be led by the Holy Spirit throughout my entire life. Please help me pray for the souls throughout the world who'll be saved and help me live the life of a true evangelist who preaches the Gospel. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
