4. 우주 창조의 원칙과 인간 행복의 기원

그러면 참된 남편은 어떤 사람입니까? 태어나기를 아내를 위해서 태어났고, 살기를 아내를 위해서 살고, 죽기를 아내를 위해서 죽는다는 입장에 선 남편이 있다면 그 아내는 남편을 과연 참된 사랑의 주인이요, 참된 이상의 남편이요, 참된 평화와 행복의 주체로서의 남편임에 틀림없다고 찬양하지 않을 수 없을 것입니다. 그 아내의 경우도 마찬가지입니다.

이 공식을 대한민국에 적용해서 볼 때, 대한민국의 참된 애국자는 어떤 사람입니까? 이렇게 질문을 한다면 나라를 위해서 태어났고, 나라를 위해서 살고, 나라를 위해서 어려운 환경도 개의치 않고 위로는 군왕을 위하여, 아래로는 백성을 위하여 묵묵히 생명을 바친 이순신 장군 같은 분을 꼽지 않을 수 없는 것입니다.

또 범위를 세계로 넓혀서 역사노정에 있어서 성인 중에 누가 제일 위대한 성인이냐고 묻는다면, 우리는 이 공식을 적용해서 그 사람을 곧 찾아낼 수 있습니다.

그분은 누구보다 인류를 위해 산 분이 아닐 수 없습니다. 여기에 기독교를 신봉하지 않는 분이 많이 참석했겠지만, 본인이 알건대는 인류를 위해 왔고 인류를 위해서 죽을 뿐만 아니라 자기가 응당히 미워해야 할 원수, 자기 생명을 빼앗는 원수를 위해서까지 기도해 준 예수 그리스도야말로 역사상에 없는 성인 중의 성인이라고 보지 않을 수 없다는 것을 이 공식을 통해서 결론지을 수 있는 것입니다. 이렇듯 우주 창조의 원칙이요, 인간 행복의 기원이 위하여 존재하는 데서 시작되었다는 것을 우리는 생각하지 않으면 안 되겠습니다.

예를 하나 더 들어서 남자라는 사람이 왜 태어났느냐고 물어본다면, 오늘 여기에 저명한 인사들이 많이 모였지만, 많은 남자들이 이러이러한 자리에 있어서 대한민국의 누구한테도 지지 않는 나 자신을 위해서 태어났다고 생각하기 쉬운 것입니다.

남자는 남자 때문에 태어났다고 지금까지 생각해 왔을 것입니다. 본래 남자가 태어난 본의가 어디 있느냐 하면 여자 때문에 태어났다는 것입니다. 여자 때문에 태어났다는 이 사실은 아무도 부정할 수 없는 것입니다.

상대적인 입장에서 보게 된다면 남자는 어깨가 넓고 여자는 아래가 넓게 되어 있습니다. 뉴욕 같은 데를 가 보면 지하철이 만원일 때 비좁은 의자에 앉더라도 위가 넓고 아래가 넓은 남자와 여자가 앉으면 딱 들어맞는 것을 보게 됩니다.

그러한 것을 보게 되더라도 서로가 위할 수 있는 상대적 관계를 이루기 위해서 그렇게 태어났다는 것을 우리는 부정할 수 없는 것입니다. 남자는 남자 때문에 태어난 것이 아니라 여자 때문에 태어났다는 것입니다. 또 그 반대로 여자도 여자 때문에 태어난 것이 아니라는 것입니다. 여자도 태어나기를 남자 때문에 태어났다는 것입니다.

이러한 사실을 스스로가 확신하지 못하는 자리에서 문제가 발발한다는 것을 우리는 알아야만 되겠습니다. 이것을 천지창조의 대주재(大主宰)가 되시는 하나님이 창조의 원칙으로 세웠기 때문에 그 원칙을 따라서 가지 않고는 선하고 참되고 행복하고 평화스러운 세계, 혹은 사랑과 이상의 세계에 들어갈 수 없다고 본인은 알고 있는 것입니다.

4. 宇宙創造の原則と人間の幸福の起源

それでは、真の夫とはどのような人でしょうか。生まれるのも妻のために生まれ、生きるのも妻のために生き、死ぬのも妻のために死ぬという立場に立った夫がいれば、その妻は、「夫は真の愛の主人であり、真の理想の夫であり、真の平和と幸福の主体としての夫に間違いない」とたたえざるを得ないのです。その妻の場合も同じです。

この公式を大韓民国に適用してみれば、大韓民国の真の愛国者とはどのような人でしょうか。このように質問をしたならば、国のために生まれ、国のために生き、国のために困難な環境をものともせず、上は王のために、下は民のために生き、黙々と命を捧げた李舜臣（イスンシン）将軍のような方を挙げざるを得ないのです。
 
また、範囲を世界に広げ、歴史路程において、聖人の中で誰が最も偉大な聖人かと尋ねれば、私たちはこの公式を適用して、その人をすぐに探し出すことができます。

その方は、誰よりも人類のために生きた人でなければなりません。ここにキリスト教を信奉しない方も参席されていると思いますが、私の知るところでは、人類のために来て、人類のために死ぬだけでなく、自分が憎んで当然の怨讐、自分の命を奪う怨讐のためにまで祈ってあげたイエス・キリストこそ、歴史上にない聖人の中の聖人と見ざるを得ないことを、この公式を通して結論づけることができるのです。このように、宇宙創造の原則と人間の幸福の起源が、ために存在するところから始まったことを、私たちは考えなければなりません。
 
例をもう一つ挙げると、異性がなぜ生まれたかと尋ねてみれば、きょうここに著名な方々が大勢集まりましたが、多くの男性の方々は、「私自身のために生まれた」と考えやすいのです。

自分は自分のために生まれたと、今まで考えてきたはずです。本来、男性が生まれた本意がどこにあるかというと、実は、女性のために生まれたのです。女性のために生まれたという事実は、誰も否定できません。
 
相対的な立場から見ると、男性は肩幅が広く、女性は腰のほうが広くなっています。ニューヨークのような所に行ってみると、地下鉄が満員の時に窮屈な椅子に座っても、上が広い男性と下が広い女性が座れば、ぴったりと収まるのを見掛けるのです。

そのようなことを見ても、互いがために生きる相対的関係を形成するためにこのように生まれたことを、私たちは否定できません。男性は男性のために生まれたのではなく、女性のために生まれました。また、その反対に、女性も女性のために生まれたのではなく、女性も男性のために生まれたのです。
 
このような事実を自らが確信できないところで問題が勃発することを、私たちは知らなければなりません。これを天地創造の大主宰であられる神様が、創造の原則として立てたので、その原則に従っていかなければ、善で、真で、幸福で、平和な世界、愛と理想の世界に入ることはできないことを私は知っています。

4. The principle of creation of the universe and the origin of happiness

Then what kind of person is a true husband? If there were a husband who felt that he was born for his wife, who lived for his wife and who was willing to die for his wife, his wife could only praise him, saying her husband was the owner of true love, a husband of the true ideal and a husband who was the subject partner of true peace and happiness. The same would be true for the wife.

When applying this formula to the nation of Korea, what kind of person would be a true patriot? If you were to ask this question, you would have to say it would be someone like Admiral Lee Soon-shin, who was born for the nation, lived for the nation, and in spite of difficult circumstances gave his life without a word for the sake of the nation, for his king above him and for the people below him.
 
If we were to apply this principle of living for the sake of others to the world and ask who is the greatest among all the saints in the course of history, we would find the answer right away. That person, more than anyone else, could only be someone who lived for the sake of humanity.

Many among those present here are not Christians, yet I tell you, the person who lived and died for the sake of humanity and who also prayed for the enemies who took his life, whom he very well could have hated, is indeed Jesus Christ. Thus he is the greatest saint in history.

This is what we can conclude by applying this formula. In this way, we must always remember that the principle of the creation of the universe, and the origin of human happiness, begin from existing for the sake of others.
 
To give another example, if you were to ask why men were born, many among the prominent figures here tonight could easily think they were born for the sake of themselves, especially since you are in high positions here in Korea. Originally, however, men are born for the sake of women. Nobody can refute this fact.
 
From a proportional perspective, men have broad shoulders and women have wide hips. If you go somewhere like New York City and get on a subway car packed with people, you will see that when a man with broad shoulders and a woman with big hips sit adjacent to one another, they fit perfectly in that limited space.

This just goes to show that we were born to form a reciprocal relationship in which we can live for the sake of each other. In short, men were not born for the sake of men; they were born for the sake of women. Correspondingly, women were not born for the sake of women; they were born for the sake of men.
 
You need to know that problems arise when we are unsure about this fact. I know well that since God, the Lord of creation of the universe, established this as a principle of creation, we cannot enter the world of goodness, truth, happiness and peace, the world of love and ideal, without following this principle.
