Must Achieve the Right Faith before Death

성경말씀: 계시록 3장

Scripture Reading: Revelation 3

“사데 교회의 사자에게 편지하라 하나님의 일곱 영과 일곱 별을 가지신 이가 이르시되 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 살았다 하는 이름은 가졌으나 죽은 자로다. 너는 일깨어 그 남은 바 죽게 된 것을 굳건하게 하라 내 하나님 앞에 네 행위의 온전한 것을 찾지 못하였노니, 그러므로 네가 어떻게 받았으며 어떻게 들었는지 생각하고 지켜 회개하라 만일 일깨지 아니하면 내가 도둑 같이 이르리니 어느 때에 네게 이를는지 네가 알지 못하리라(3:1-3)” 하셨듯, 많은 사람들이 말씀의 외면적 의미나 사람의 교훈에 속아 자신의 믿음을 과신하고 구원을 확신하는 그릇된 믿음에 빠지기 때문에, “사데에 그 옷을 더럽히지 아니한 자 몇 명이 네게 있어 흰 옷을 입고 나와 함께 다니리니 그들은 합당한 자인 연고라. 이기는 자는 이와 같이 흰 옷을 입을 것이요 내가 그 이름을 생명책에서 결코 지우지 아니하고 그 이름을 내 아버지 앞과 그의 천사들 앞에서 시인하리라. 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다(3:4-6)” 하셨듯, 최종적인 그리스도의 대속과 구원에 이르는 사람은 극히 적다는 뜻입니다.

So many Christians are deceived by the external meaning of the Word or the teachings of men, and fall into the false belief that they are overconfident in their faith and are assured of salvation, as “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up. Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you (3:1-3)” So, very few people reach the final redemption and salvation, as “Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels (3:4-6)”

그런데 “빌라델비아 교회의 사자에게 편지하라 거룩하고 진실하사 다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 이 곧 열면 닫을 사람이 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 없는 그가 이르시되, 볼지어다 내가 네 앞에 열린 문을 두었으되 능히 닫을 사람이 없으리라 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 작은 능력을 가지고서도 내 말을 지키며 내 이름을 배반하지 아니하였도다(3:7-8)” 하셨듯, 세상 사람들이 인정하지 않는 아주 작은 은혜와 사랑도 놓치지 않고 감사하고 끝까지 순종하며 지키는 믿음이 돼야만, “보라 사탄의 회당 곧 자칭 유대인이라 하나 그렇지 아니하고 거짓말하는 자들 중에서 몇을 네게 주어 그들로 와서 네 발 앞에 절하게 하고 내가 너를 사랑하는 줄을 알게 하리라. 네가 나의 인내의 말씀을 지켰은즉 내가 또한 너를 지켜 시험의 때를 면하게 하리니 이는 장차 온 세상에 임하여 땅에 거하는 자들을 시험할 때라(3:9-10)” 하셨듯, 사람의 거짓된 교훈에 속지 않게 되고 끝까지 참고 견디며 이기도록 힘주시며 돕는 임마누엘 하나님 성령의 은혜를 받습니다.

However, we must have faith that does not miss even the smallest grace and love that people in the world do not know or acknowledge, but thankful it and obeys to God until death, as “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name (3:7-8)” Then, with the grace of the Holy Spirit of Emmanuel God who strengthens and helps us, we will not be deceived by the false teachings of men, but we will be able to keep the faith that endures and obeys to the end, as “I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth (3:9-10)”

그럴지라도, “내가 속히 오리니 네가 가진 것을 굳게 잡아 아무도 네 면류관을 빼앗지 못하게 하라. 이기는 자는 내 하나님 성전에 기둥이 되게 하리니 그가 결코 다시 나가지 아니하리라 내가 하나님의 이름과 하나님의 성 곧 하늘에서 내 하나님께로부터 내려오는 새 예루살렘의 이름과 나의 새 이름을 그이 위에 기록하리라. 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다(3:11-13)” 하셨듯, 겸손하게 맡기고 의지하며 순종하는 믿음 죽기까지 지켜야 구원을 얻게 되는데, “라오디게아 교회의 사자에게 편지하라 아멘이시요 충성되고 참된 증인이시요 하나님의 창조의 근본이신 이가 이르시되, 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 뜨겁지도 아니하도다 네가 차든지 뜨겁든지 하기를 원하노라. 네가 이같이 미지근하여 뜨겁지도 아니하고 차지도 아니하니 내 입에서 너를 토하여 버리리라(3:14-16)” 하셨듯, 많은 사람이 세상 지식과 성령의 진리, 육신의 삶과 영생 사이에서 결단을 내리지 못하고 양다리를 걸치는 어중간한 믿음에 머물면서도 깨닫지 못하는 것이 문제입니다.

However, we must keep the faith that humbly entrust, trust and obey until death to obtain salvation, as “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches (3:11-13)” However, many people remain in an ambiguous faith, straddling the line between worldly knowledge and the truth of the Holy Spirit, between the life of the flesh and the faith of the eternal life, and do not realize it, as “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I you’re your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other (3:14-15)”

그래서, “네가 말하기를 나는 부자라 부요하여 부족한 것이 없다 하나 네 곤고한 것과 가련한 것과 가난한 것과 눈 먼 것과 벌거벗은 것을 알지 못하는도다. 내가 너를 권하노니 내게서 불로 연단한 금을 사서 부요하게 하고 흰 옷을 사서 입어 벌거벗은 수치를 보이지 않게 하고 안약을 사서 눈에 발라 보게 하라. 무릇 내가 사랑하는 자를 책망하여 징계하노니 그러므로 네가 열심을 내라 회개하라(3:17-19)” 하셨듯, 그리스도의 대속으로 구원을 얻었다 착각하고 확신하는 그릇된 믿음에 빠지는데, 깨닫고 회개하지 않으면 구원을 얻지 못하므로, “마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하라(신6:5)-나를 사랑하는 자가 나의 사랑을 입으며 나를 간절히 찾는 자가 나를 만나리라(잠8:17)” 하셨듯, 생명의 말씀 하나님을 진심으로 사랑하며 복음의 진리를 찾는 마음에 찾아와 가르치는 성령의 은혜를 받아야 올바른 믿음이 되고 구원을 얻습니다.

So, they fall into the false belief that they have obtained salvation through the atonement of Christ on the cross, and if they do not realize it, and repent, they will not be saved, as “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and slave to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So, be earnest, and repent (3:17-19)” Therefore, when we truly love God, the Word of Life, and seek and find the truth of the gospel, then receive the grace of the Holy Spirit who teaches us, and can we have the right faith and attain salvation only, as “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all, your strength (Deuteronomy6:5) – I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me (Proverbs8:17)”

그렇기 때문에, “볼지어다 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그와 더불어 먹고 그는 나와 더불어 먹으리라. 이기는 그에게는 내가 내 보좌에 함께 앉게 하여 주기를 내가 이기고 아버지 보좌에 함께 앉은 것과 같이 하리라. 귀 있는 자는 성령이 교회들에게 하시는 말씀을 들을지어다(3:20-22)” 하셨으므로, 말씀을 사랑하며 마음에 새기고 항상 묵상하며 복음의 진리를 찾으며 간구하여, 성령께서 가르치는 은혜를 따라 믿고 의지하며 맡기고 순종하여, 그리스도께서 임마누엘 하나님과 왕으로 재림하여 다스리는 천년 왕국이 되는 믿음 죽을 때까지 변함없이 지키고 구원 얻어야 합니다. 그처럼 올바른 믿음 되기를 예수 그리스도 이름으로 간절히 축복하며 기도합니다. 아멘.

So, that the Scripture says to us, as “Here I am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches (3:20-22)” Therefore, we must love the Word, engrave it in our hearts, always meditate on it, seek the truth of the gospel, pray for it, believe, trust entrust and obey according to the grace taught by the Holy Spirit, and keep the faith that Christ will return as the Trinity Immanuel God and King and rule the millennial kingdom until death, and obtain redemption and salvation.
