태국 북부 수코타이 도, 욤강[江] 범람
Northern flood inundates Sukhothai
- 태국 북부에 위치한 수코타이 도의 욤강이 범람하여, 이미 월요일(9.10)부터 수코타이 시내가 침수됨.
- 도지사는 저지대 주민들에게 대피령 내림. 4개 군에 추가 침수 경고.
- 기상청은 수코타이 도 뿐만 아니라, 북부지방의 매홍손 도 및 치앙라이 도에도 뇌우경고를 내림.
- 수코타이 시내 학교들이 휴교하고, 시청 청사도 지하층이 50 cm 정도 침수됨.

Sukhothai province is braced for more floodwater of the Yom River which already overflowed the northern town and crippled the commercial area since Monday.
Sukhothai governor Chakarin Plienwong said officials were altered by the water flowing downstream from Wang Chin district in neighbouring Phrae province at the rate of 800 cubic metres on Monday.
The governor ordered people living along the river to evacuate and keep their belongings to higher grounds as the water level was rising rapidly in the province including the town where work crews piled up more than 5,000 sandbags along the riverbank to stem the flood.
People in the four districts of Sukhothai, Sawankalok, Muang, Sri Samrong and Kong Krailas -- have been warned of more flooding to come.
The Meteorological Department forecast scattered thundershowers in Sukhothai as well as Mae Hong Son and Chiang Rai until Tuesday.
Reports said the floodwater had spread into the provincial municipality and authorities had to turn off power in some areas for safety. Most roads in the provincial capital inundated and in some areas the water was still continued rising and was over one metre high. Traffic was paralysed.
Udom Darunee School, Wat Thai Chumpol School, Wat Khuha Sawan School, Kwang Tong School, and Sai Tham School had been temporarily closed. Wichian Chamong, Ratchathani, Pracha Ruam Jai, Khlong Taphet, Phra Mae Ya, and Tan Dieo communities in the the municipality were heavily affected.
The grounds of city hall, the Provincial Administration Organisation office, prosecution office, Muang district office, and municipality office were under about 50 centimetres of water.
