Dev Diary: Crusades and an Extra
Okay,
the main thing I have been working on the last few days is how to
handle the crusades Sphem pm'ed me a list of ideas for the crusades and I
started working on them a few days ago and wrote up a plan (Also if
people have ideas please post or pm them to me)
-Orthodox Byzantines Can Join the Crusades (교황이 십자군 선포시 거기에 난입가능)
-Byzantines can reconquer their historical territories even if that enemy is not the crusade target (Like how the Byzantines recaptured Nicaea in the first crusade)
-Most Christians and Muslims can now raid (싱나는 커세어 때거지를 볼 수 있게되었습니다!)
-If Constantinople falls to a raid by a country on a crusade the Latin Empire will be created
-While on a Crusade if you sack a city in Islamic territories not in the crusade target the person leading the siege can take the city and create their own crusader state
-This is a list of the new potential crusade state titles atm: Niniveh,
Damascus, Alexandria, Petra, Mecca, Carthage, Lisbon, Constantine,
Granada, Marraketch, Tangiers, Tarsos, Beiruit, Alleppo, Palmyra,
Arabia, Leptis Magna and Baghdad
-New trait for Islamic raiders Ghazw, similar to the Viking trait
-Peoples Crusade Event Chain
-Fires on the declaration of the first crusade
-Spawns Peter the Hermit and some of his subordinates which will create
chaos in europe for about half a year before doing the same in hungary
and greece
-If the Byzantines allow them the remaining force (Between 20 and 60k)
will invade the Sultunate of Rum as an adventurer horde, if they win the
taken lands will most likely revert to the Byzantines
-Taken land from the muslims if it was historically part of the byzantines, can be returned to the byzantines
Heretical Crusades ie: Albigensian Crusade
Can Fire If
-Has law universal tolerance or very high tolerance
-Very bad relations with the Pope
-Has more than 3 or 4 heretical provinces
-Ruler is Excommunicated
If all of these are met
-The Pope will send a legate/ inquisitor to the area and start a war
-The war is join able both ways via decisions
-If the crusades win there will be a few different options depending on
if there is a de jure king available (like France iotl) or a local noble
may get the territory

-New stuff involving who is qualified to hold temples
-Beta Israel has its own culture and religion
-More Religious Holiday decisions (Purim, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur, thought there may have been another too)
-Religious Law Events
-Redrawn map of the Israel/ Jerusalem Area
-Exilarch titles
-Bar Mitzvah Event
-Reworked courtier events and cultures
-Some other stuff I cant remember such as becoming the messiah if I remember right and getting a trait to represent that
-Levite trait
-Cochin Jews
-I think a couple extra things for the Samaritans as well

Dev Diary: The Steppes Revisited and More

First off Egypt was worked on extensively today
Now for the main stuff you want to see
This is the new political setup for the 632 start date (Note the orange
counties above Sassanids are Sassanid vassals). the Tang blob has broken
up making the situation much more fluid, the Hephtalites or White Huns
are the Eftal Empire (Eftal is the Persian name for it from what I have
read)
As you can also see the Magyars are now present in Alania and have
pushed the Alans down to only one nomad county with some Chechen lands
and the Byzantines have been put into parts of Crimea as well
So this is the new cultural setup for the 632 start date, Farsi has been
replaced with Pahlavi, Pashtun with Bactrian and Indo-Greek and the
Indo-Scythian Saka culture has been extended a little bit.
Gepids have been changed to Arian providing a playable Arian start in
632 (Note it will be a Chalcendonian heresy not a Catholic one)
Cultural Map for 632 Bookmark, Hunnic has been added to two provinces,
and there is an Alan population and vassal duke tier ruler of the Avar
Khaganate. Daco-Roman has also been extended a bit and the out of place
Bolghar and Hungarian cultured provinces have been fixed. Circassian
has also been fixed to be in all three appropriate provinces

North Africa Map Overhaul
Morrocco has yet to be redone while central and west africa will also be getting changes in the near future.
-Karelian culture added, made an hidden event so if your finnish
cultured ruling the area on start up you flip to karelian so I dont have
to recode all finnish chars.

WIP Religous Map of India for 632, put a lot of time into researching
this (I also learned whom paradox assigned sect traits to for Hinduism
was random, so that made this a lot more difficult)
Anyways, religions added so far to the indian religous group

To those who are new readers and havent read my previous posts
Buddhism was previously split up between Vajrayana, Mahayana and Thereveda
There is also a Nestorian province and holy site in southern india, when
I redraw the tamil areas in the near future I plan to also specially
draw a jewish province and hopefully another nestorian province.
Locations of religions were based on:
-Tribal Religions
-Cultural Ties
-Sites of Major Temples
-Some of Paradox's traits in the history files
-Some guesswork
Also added a few new cultures but we can discuss those another time,
India history setup barring nepal and punjab/ kashmir should be finished
tomorrow.
Also I probably still have one or two more religions to put in still in addition I might throw in a heresy for Saivism
I plan to adjust the heresy mechanics so that indian religions spread
across india (barring the tribal ones in most cases) to work like
heresies if your moral authority gets too low
I am very interested to add some flavor to the caste system, if anyone has ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Some new cultures
Just a look at one of the things I've been working on today. ...................?!!!!
New Culture time, Saka and Bactrian
Saka is an Indo-Scythian culture (With an appropriate namelist).
If you want to try a game of them out soon, when I fix a titles bug in
tarim, I'll update my github page, the rulers of the region were also
made Saka and mahayana buddhist instead of Thereveda like vanilla.
Who wants some Kemetic in their Coptic
? (Its at the least quasi historical press me for more info on why I put it in)
Well, I avoided working on the map as I was waiting for my laundry to dry so I just worked on cultures for a bit

New Cultures Added this evening:
-Mandaeic (With historical name list I researched)
-Khwarezmian
-Mazandarani
-Lors
-Pamiri
-Hejazi Arabic
-Omani Arabic
-Mashriqi (Renamed Levantine)
-Hebrew
-Pahlavi
-Renamed Persian Farsi to show the Arabic influence in the Caliphate areas as compared to the non Caliphate area
-Balk and the province below it are now Pashtun
Also been salvaging old Judaism stuff and the following Jewish cultures are added/ being added
-Itali
-Romaniote
-Chinese Jews (in need of a name for them)
-Iberiani (Pre Sephardi Iberian Jews)
Sephardi will appear in the 900s
Jewish Courtier Events have had a complete rework and can appear throughout the world regardless of your religion
Also plans for Indian realms to get similar events for Parsi Zoroastrians and Assyrian Nestorians

Here is some stuff I threw together in the last half hour or so
New Cultural Set Up in the Caucuses to fit with the new provinces from a
while back (Also Kingdom of Alania has cultural localization for Nakh
as well as the duchy of Sarir)

사실 그것 떄문에 포럼에서 갑론을박이....
실 거주지를 중심으로 영토를 잡는 건 Beloch,Frier 같은 고대사의 거두들도 사용히는 방식인데, 이들을 초보 역덕, 쉰 떡밥 취급하시는 근거가 궁금하군요. 참고로, 주요 오아시스에 거점들을 포함해도 저정도면 잘 처준 편입니다.
위 지도는 블로거 shaw님이 beloch의 Die Bev?lkerung der griechisch-r?mischen Welt에 따라 오아시스, 나일-델타 같은 실거주지를 모두 표시한 것입니다. 딱히 저 모드가 사실을 왜곡했다는 생각은 들지 않는군요.
@루모로마노 '오아시스와 거점과 거점 등을 고려하지 않아서'라는 말씀은 명백히 틀린 부분일텐데 이런 식의 반응은 상당히 유감이군요. 무엇보다도 저 모드는 역사적 사실에 충실한 것인데 (굳이 따지자면, 되도않는 사막지역에 2~3홀딩을 배정하는 바닐라나 여타 모드가 사실에 더 맞지 않습니다), 이걸 '판도가 더럽다' 같은 단순 기호의 문제라면 몰라도 이런 식으로 반박을 하시니 여러모로 유감이군요.
